In this decade, all researchers and industry players decide to produce new sustainable product by exploring new resources as well as promote a new potential design. Natural fibre had gained a great attention from all researchers and industry players for this purpose. In this study, a new formulation of Arenga Pinnata fibre reinforced hybrid fibreglass/Kevlar composite was fabricated using a hand lay-up technique for the potential eco-design green boat. The hyrid composite specimens were prepared in different fibre percentage to polymer matric and the thickness of 5 mm. The determination of manufacturing defects of the potential eco-design green boat was performed using Scanning Electron Microscopy technique (SEM. Water absorption were observed using the standard water absorption test of ASTM D570-98. Then, correlation of manufacturing defects toward water absorption were analyzed. As a conclusion, SEM had significantly determined the manufacturing defects occurred in the hybrid composite specimen as voids, fibre pull-out, resin rich zone and matric cracks as well as misalignment of fibre. In this study, its demonstrated that increased of fibre contents influenced the numbers of manufacturing defects and interfacial adhesion. It was revealed that the specimen C of 60% fibre content had the least manufacturing defects. This led to better mechanical properties, as specimen D of 75% fibre content possessed the highest manufacturing defects and interfacial adhesion. The result of water absorption showed that 30% of fibre content Arenga Pinnata showed the lowest water resistance in day 15 which is 2.94%. The 75% of fibre content Arenga Pinnata showed the highest in day 15 which is 5.20%.

Melaka has been ruled by Portuguese, Dutch and British and well known with its historical background. Melaka also becomes an attraction for tourism;thus give positive impacts to local economies. Tourist, bus driver and the traders working along the main roads are amongst the people who affected with air pollution. In this study, data was collected at the Jonker Walk and surrounding area using VelociCalc/Q-trak 7575 by TSI. The measurement was taken at every 1-minute data for an interval of 60-minutes along the route. Data for carbon monoxide (CO) were measured using electrochemical method, while carbon dioxide (CO2) were measured using non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technique. Other data such as temperature and relative humidity were also measured using the same instrument. Findings showed that the concentration of CO2 was the highest from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm with a concentration of 934 ppm. The maximum median was found from 7.00 to 8.00 pm with 350 ppm, which was in the range of the ASHRAE limit. The highest value of CO was observed from 7.00 to 8.00 pm at 8.6 ppm with a median of 1.25 ppm. The 1-hour averaging time showed low concentration for CO level at 1.953 ppm which was below the acceptable limit of 35 ppm. Statistical analysis showed that there is no correlation between CO2 and CO. Moderate relationship exists between CO2 and temperature, CO and temperature and CO and *** findings provide useful information for the tourists during their Melaka visit. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

New development of HAM for approximating linear integro-differential equation of order two

In many problems of mathematical physics, theory of elasticity, visco-dynamics fluid and mixed problems of mechanics of continuous media reduces to the integral and intro-differential equation (Volterra or Fredholm type) first or second kind. In the early XXth (around 1910) century, to solve some problems in the field of mechanics Volterra had to solve integro-differential equations (IDEs) with variable boundaries. One of the popular methods for solving Volterra IDEs is the method of quadratures when problem of consideration is a linear problem. When IDEs are nonlinear or integral kernel are complicated (singular or nonlinear) then quadrature rule is not most suitable therefore other type of methods are needed to develop. In this note, we have used the standard and new-development of homotopy analysis method (ND-HAM) for the general second order linear integral-differential equations (IDEs) of the second kind. Both methods reduce IDEs into iterative sequence of algebraic integral equations with known integrant function. Gauss-Legendre quadrature formulas are applied for kernel integrations. Obtained system of algebraic equations are solved numerically. Moreover, numerical examples demonstrate the high accuracy of the proposed method. Comparisons with other methods are also provided. The results show that the proposed method is simple, effective and reliable.

The hydrological mechanism in the river basin is vital to sustain and conserve water resources. Therefore, the study's main aim is to determine the applicability of ArcGIS version 10.0.2 with the Soil and Water Assessment Tools (SWAT) model in the assessment of streamflow in UMFR catchment with a total area of 975 km2 located on the western coast of peninsular Malaysia, Kedah. The statistical model outputs chosen to measure the correlation between observed and simulated flow in the study area are the coefficient of determination (R2), Nash – Sutcliffe efficiency (NSE), and percent of bias (PBIAS). The results demonstrate a good match between observed and simulated flows, demonstrating that the SWAT model can accurately predict streamflow at UMFR. The findings suggest that during calibration and validation, both NSE, R2, and PBIAS are more than 0.5, indicating a strong agreement between observed and simulated flow. The most sensitive parameter that may influence simulation outcomes are SOL_AWC, SOL_K and GW_REVAP. For soil parameters, the most sensitive parameter is SOL_AWC compared to the other soil indicators. These findings justify that the model can predict water balance and water yield in all other river basins in Kedah for sustainable water resources management where the water quantity becomes a critical issue in the states.

The use of fiber-reinforced vegetable oil - polymer composites has increased in various technical fields. However, the long-term operating performance of these materials is still not well understood, limiting the development of these composites. In this study, the water absorption performance of hybrid composites, which consist of kenaf fiber and glass fiber as reinforcement, epoxy resin and acrylated epoxidized palm oil (AEPO) as a matrix, and montmorillonite (MMT) nano clays as a filler was evaluated with the function of different fibers layering order. The hand lay-up method is used to produce the composites with the variable number of kenaf fibers and glass fibers layer sequences. The water absorption kinetics of epoxy/AEPO reinforced hybrid kenaf/glass fiber-filled MMT composites are described in this paper. It has been observed that the water absorption rate of the composites depends on the fiber layering sequences. The alternative sequence of Glass-Kenaf-Kenaf-Glass and Kenaf-Glass-Kenaf-Glass composites layers exhibited the lowest moisture absorption rates of 7.61% and 7.63%, respectively.

This research paper explains the impact of dynamics viscosity of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) water base nanofluid for different parameter for both velocity and temperature profile. Similarity transformation is used to convert the partial differential equation to nonlinear ordinary differential equation. The solution of the problem is obtained using the optimal homotopy analysis method. The stability of the problems is also obtained up to the 30th order approximation using the BVPh 2.0 package. The outputs are displayed and discussed. The effects of various parameters on the skin friction coefficient and Nusselt number coefficient of single and multi-walled CNTs are displayed and discussed. © 2020, © 2020 The Author(s). This paper presents a reconfigurable beam dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) at 2.4 GHz by adopting the yagi-uda concept. Rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (RDRA) have been chosen as the radiator and fed by slot aperture. The antenna is designed in Taconic substrate with permittivity of 2.2. Firstly, a single antenna with two different modes is designed and investigated. The best performance mode in term of gain is then used to design the single driven RDRA with two parasitic RDRA, connected with the four RF pin diode BAR50-02V as switch. The analysis of the gap between driven and parasitic element is investigated. Four different types of switch configuration have been carried out to identify the performance of antenna in different cases. Depending on the switch configurations, the designed antenna can achieved highest gain of 7.386 dB and have steering angle capability at - 42°, 42°, - 54° and 54°.

Empty fruit bunch (EFB) are the second-highest waste produced in the oil palm industry which is 18 022 tonnes in a year. However, the presence of oil palm waste especially from empty fruit bunch (EFB) give a major problem to the disposal. Herein, EFB waste has been identified as a potential carbon source for synthetic graphite production. This is due to implement the lower heating temperature of synthetic graphite produced in controlled heating conditions. Several parameters have been manipulated to study the effect of various parameters on the graphitization process. Hence, in this study, the effect of soaking time towards graphitization of empty fruit bunch (EFB) waste has been investigated. EFB waste was heat treated with various soaking times which is 2 hours, 2.5 hours and 3 hours in controlled heating conditions with constant heating temperature at 500°C and heating rate at 10°/minute After heating treatment, the samples were characterized using X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and analyzed by X'Pert Highscore Plus software. The functional group of synthetic graphite was determined by using Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The morphological study was carried out by using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). From the analysis, the best synthetic graphite produced is at the 2.5 hours soaking time with a constant heating temperature at 500°C and a constant heating rate at 10°/min.

Previously, synthetic graphite was produced at higher heating temperature, which is above 2500°C in complex processing method and by using petroleum coke, anthracite, and coal tar pitch as the starting materials. These materials are known as non-waste sources. Therefore, in this study, Empty Fruit Bunch Waste (EFB) has been identified as a potential carbon source from waste to replace the non-waste sources of starting materials for synthetic graphite production. Hence, by implementing a controlled heating condition via pyrolysis process, with fixed heating rate and soaking time, Empty Fruit Bunch Waste (EFB), was heated at 3 different series of heating temperatures, which are, 300°C, 400°C and 500°C. The heating rate applied was maintained at 10°/min and the soaking time used 3 hours. After the heating treatment, the synthetic graphite obtained was characterized by various analytical tools, including, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis, and Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) Analysis. Based on the analysis, it was confirmed that synthetic graphite was successfully synthesized by heat treatment at 500 °C with 10°/min of heating rate and 3 hours soaking time. Synthetic graphite was observed in the form of amorphous carbon based on the XRD diffraction pattern that matches with the reference code of 00-041-1487.

In this paper, we investigate the solutions of the following fractional order differential equation (FracDE) { cDt0α+[ x(t)−f1(t,x(t)) ]=f2(t,x(t),(It0β+x)(t)),∈J,x(t0)=x0∈ℝ where cDt0α+ is the Caputo fractional derivative of order 0<α<1,It0+β is the Riemann-Liouville fractional integral of order β > 0, and J = [t0, t0 + a], for some t0 ∈ ℝ, a > 0. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution of above nonlinear FracDE under some conditions of f1 and f2. This result extends and complements some known results from the literature.
