Space weather is driven by solar activities by pulling out the variety of phenomenon such as solar flare and coronal mass ejection (CMEs). It been discovered the CMEs and solar flares have causes disturbance at near-Earth space. This paper is to examined the behaviour of geomagnetic storm, horizontal geomagnetic field and several solar wind parameters during solar flare and CMEs event at minimum of solar cycle of 24. Observational result found that association of strongest solar flare and CMEs have declined the geomagnetic storm until -150nt at 8th September 2017. Following to this, the H component reading also slightly decreased at three magnetometer location respectively. Solar flare and CMEs released the energetic particles that could disturbed the radio communications at the Earth and electronic equipment. Therefore, it was required to study and understanding the solar flare and CMEs event.

Corner detection is basically a methods used to extract certain kind of features in images which could produce some information including the location or position of the corner points. Thus, in this paper an enhancement shape corner detection method is proposed to detect true corners of shape images. The overall performance of the proposed enhanced shape corner detector and six other existing shape detectors and descriptors including Harris, SUSAN, Harris-Laplace, CSS, SIFT and global and local curvature properties is presented. The experimental results of corner detection methods are tested using the benchmark binary image MPEG-7 Core Experiment Shape-1 Part B dataset. To measure the performance of corner detection evaluation, an appropriate number of true corners were determined.

The aim of this paper is to study the effect of magnesium hydroxide burning rate, mechanical properties and surface morphology analysis of Arenga pinnata fibre hybrid with polyester yarn (APF/PET) reinforced epoxy composite with the addition of magnesium hydroxide as flame retardant. The composites were prepared with different amount of fibres (i.e. 0%, 20%, 35% and 50% by weight percent) and two constant material of 5% which are the magnesium hydroxide and the polyester yarn with epoxy resin as the matrix. With the incorporation of the flame retardant the horizontal burning rate of APF/PET reinforced epoxy decreased with the amount of 35% APF. The fibre loading increased to 50% as the mechanical properties of the hybrid composite decreased which due to the lack of interfacial bonding between the fibres and matrix. Surface morphology studies through scanning electron microscopy showed the similar distribution of Arenga pinnata fibres and matrix with less adhesion which reduce the mechanical properties of the hybrid composites.

A study has been conducted in Pergau Reservoir water intake in Jeli Kelantan. Pergau reservoir is a man-made lake that uses to generate electricity for Kelantan State. Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) was organized the Pergau Scientific Expedition 2019 on 28th October 2019 until 3rd November 2019 in order to check the current status of water catchment of Pergau lake as the intake for the reservoir. In this study, 12 sampling sites was identified by TNB which seven in water catchment area and five stations in lake. During sampling works, water sample were collected for ex-situ analysis and for in-situ analysis, water quality reading was taken using YSI multiparameter. During this study, greater reading was recorded in lake compared to river due to altitude and canopy cover that affect water quality. Greater reading on water turbidity and temperature in lake because affect by natural process and human activity while in river, canopy layer reduces the sunlight penetration. Based on Malaysia Department of Environment, water quality index for both river and lake were identified at 93.3 and 95.1 respectively which classified as clean. Based on this study, clean water quality index will ensure the water safe to be used and environment was healthy.

In order to ensure that the vehicle achieve an improvement in energy efficiency, reduction in emissions and fuel use, the good energy management system needed. This paper presents an innovation of water transportation namely Plug-in Hybrid Electric Recreational Boat (PHERB) on modeling and simulation results of an energy management strategy (EMS) for PHERB. In this work, firstly, through a power flow analysis, the vehicle components are sized to meet the expected power and energy requirements. Then, the model is tested numerically in the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment using the Penambang Boat drive cycle with the proposed EMS. The simulation results show that the PHERB model can be used as a reference to build a hybrid electric boat in Malaysia environment.

Penambang Boat is a service that has been developed in the Kuala Terengganu River to boost the public transport network in Terengganu. As far as real-world cities are concerned, the Penambang Boat process is important for each running waterway to increase energy efficiency and reduce pollution. This research study is to define and validate the parameters of this driving cycle and to develop the Penambang Boat driving cycle on the Kuala Terengganu River throughout its operation path, to analyze fuel economy and emissions using Advance Vehicle Simulator (ADVISOR) software. Through the analysis of energy consumption and emissions, the last two of the micro trips were chosen and the real driving cycles are developed. The results show that the fuel consumption is 8.7 l/100km, the CO emission is 3.479 g/km, the HC emission is 3.718 g/km and lastly the NOx emission is 0.003 g/km. Penambang Boat has been shown the needs to reduce the power consumption and thus minimize the impacts on the environment and economy.

Nowadays, the image processing technique has been used widely in the fields of science and technology. The use of the image processing technique is to improve the manual approach process to achieve accurate results. Since the manual approach shows, its time processing can be laborious to analyses extensive data and require a skilful researcher to experiment. The use of image processing technique can support to reduce several drawbacks. Therefore, many researchers prefer an alternative solution such as an automated or semiautomated system-based image to enhance the manual approach task. The image processing technology provides a variety of algorithms that modified according to the desired study is the reason why the image processing technique is desirable. Low-level processing is the early stage of image processing techniques and the steps involved are image acquisition, noise removal, image sharpening, image smoothing, image blurring, etc. Meanwhile for the Midlevel processing, adopt the use of several image processing techniques such as image segmentation, object detection, object recognition, feature extraction and classification. Therefore, image processing provides numerous applications such as in agriculture, medical image processing, ocean monitoring and conservation, facial recognition, fisheries, etc. In this paper, the uses of image processing techniques are discussed in briefly on the application of fishery study.

Bas KiTe is the public bus in Kuala Terengganu currently consume diesel as the primary source to operate the bus. To reduce diesel usage, Bas KiTe plug-in hybrid electric bus (KITEPHEB) is introduced. In KITEPHEB, the combination of ultracapacitor and battery in energy system storage (ESS) is studied. The aims of this study to determine the parameters and specification of ESS, design a model of the ESS components using MATLAB/SIMULINK environment, and validate the ESS model using ADVISOR using standard driving cycle. KITEPHEB battery voltage, battery power, ESS demand power, fuel economy and emission were analysed using Kuala Terengganu driving cycle. The results have shown that the ESS model for KITEPHEB may be used for building the plug-in hybrid electric bus prototype in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia.
