Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that is surging and becomes worldwide serious issues. Currently, due to lack of specific treatment or vaccine against dengue, many forms of vector control remains a key strategy for dengue fever prevention. In response to the issue, this paper introduces an AedesTech Mosquitoes Home System (AMHS) that is equipped with a special trade secret formulation or also called as Insecticide Growth Regulator (IGR) and combines with Internet of Things (IoT) technology for vector control. An IGR is a pheromone-like liquid formulation that is a chemical that serves to stimulate and have sexually attract the male and female that will attract and lure adult female mosquitoes to lay eggs in them, and the adult mosquitoes will soon die after lying eggs. Those eggs that already laid with the chemical will not hatch or die at an expected of 99% rate, or go beyond the pulp level. Our sustainable approach offers for two (2) novel features. First, to monitor the collection of Aedes eggs in our MHS, we develop a mobile apps called AedesTech Apps (ATA) for Aedes eggs auto-counting and data collection are stored in cloud based server. Second, to monitor the level of liquid formulation (IGR) in AMHS, we utilize an Arduino water based sensor to real time track the IGR level status and we called as Intelligent Mosquito Home System (iMHS). Our iMHS will automatically alert the user when refill is needed. Both technologies are related to IR 4.0 that could be a new approach for preventing and monitoring of dengue outbreaks. This sustainability approach are environmental friendly and cost saving that provide the solution to the world's global issue of dengue. The results by our ATA tool indicate a satisfactory figure with only 0.01 to 0.04 percent of error rate compared to existing ICount and EggCounter tools. Temporal and Spatial Analysis of the Occupational Noise at Rice Mill in Kedah

Noise or unwanted sound, is considered as occupational pollution, especially one that is loud or unpleasant or that causes disturbance to human and surroundings. Occupational noise is a noise emitted from various industries that effect the workers' safety and health. A prolonged exposure towards noise can bring negative effects to the receptor, resulting in noise induce hearing loss (NIHL) diseases. The state of Kedah is known as the rice bowl of Malaysia, producing more than half of the country's home grown rice supply. Majority of the rice mill is situated in Kedah where the major occupational hazard for the workers is noise during the operation of various machines to convert paddy to rice. The aim of this study is to assess the noise risk assessment in the rice mill. The noise level was measured during working hours of 0900hrs – 1800hrs for three consecutive days using sound level meter. The evaluated daily noise level Leq, did not exceeded the limit enacted by the Occupational Safety and Health (Noise Exposure) Regulation, 2019 but there were occasions the reading surpassed the limit, ranging from 86.5 dBA to 90.3 dBA. Measurement of noise exposure at 1-meter distance for machineries located in the rice mill was also conducted and the most critical location in the rice mill is the Rice Huller machine.. Noise sources from the machinery shows strong negative correlation with noise level (r = -0.97, p<0.05) (Air Blower), (r = -0.94, p<0.05) (Rice sieving), (r = -0.98, p<0.05) (Air Pump), (r = -0.95, p<0.05) (Rice Huller) and (r = -0.95, p<0.05) (Rice Polisher), correspondingly. The findings from this study is important for the company management team as abatement measures for the employees in providing a more conducive working environment and indirectly increases the productivity of the company.

Supersingular integral equations of the first kind and its approximate solutions

In this note, we consider a supersingular integral equations (SuperSIEs) of the first kind on the interval [−1,1] with the assumption that kernel of the hypersingular integral is constant on the diagonal of the domain D = [−1,1]×[−1,1] . Projection method together with Chebyshev polynomials of the first, second, third and fourth kinds are used to find bounded, unbounded and semi-bounded solutions of SuperSIEs respectively. Exact calculations of singular integrals for Chebyshev polynomials allow us to obtain high accurate approximate solution. Gauss- Chebyshev quadrature formulas are used for high accurate computations of regular kernel integrals. Two examples are provided to verify the validity and accuracy of the proposed method. Comparisons with other methods are also given. Numerical examples reveal that approximate solutions are exact if solution of SuperSIEs is of the polynomial forms with corresponding weights. It is worth to note that proposed method works well for large value of node points and errors are drastically decreases.

Corrosion Inhibition and Antifouling Performance of Epoxy Coating Functionalized with PEDOT: PSS-Cerium Doped Zinc Oxide Hybrid Composites

Steel corrosion and biofouling have adverse impacts on various high-end engineering applications including, in biomedical and maritime industries. Smart functional polymer coatings have been developed to simultaneously control corrosion and prevent biofouling problems on steels. In this study, translucent epoxy coatings loaded with 1, 3, and 5 wt% of functional hybrid composite (HC) microparticles were formulated. The HC particles contained cerium doped ZnO encapsulated in conductive poly(3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT: PSS) polymer at mixing ratio of 3:1. The effects of HC composition towards the corrosion inhibition and antifouling properties of the coating were evaluated. The microstructure and composition analyses were performed by using SEM and EDX techniques. The anticorrosion performance of the coating films deposited on stainless steel (SS 316 L) substrates was evaluated by using the Potentiodynamic Polarization (PP) technique. The antifouling characteristics of the coatings were investigated by performing the antimicrobial susceptibility test and a series of photodegradation test in medium containing ~108 CFU/ml of bacteria under UV light in 180 minutes. The findings revealed that the presence of PEDOT:PSS-Ce doped ZnO HC increased the barrier properties of the epoxy matrix on SS 316 L against corrosion. The corrosion inhibition properties increased with increasing HC composition. The formulated coatings also exhibited antifouling effects against bacteria. The Gram positive-S. aureus exhibited susceptibility against the coating whereas the Gram negative – S. aureus showed resistant. The coatings demonstrated photocatalytic properties under UV light irradiation and capable of inactivating <99% of bacteria in less than 180 min. The epoxy coating functionalized with 5wt% HC exhibited the highest corrosion inhibition performance (corrosion rate of 0.0001 mm/year) and excellent antifouling effects against selected bacteria.

Loligo Duvauceli, is known as squid in the local name. Squid is a species of high value and a good source of protein besides fish. In this paper, a logistic growth model with constant and periodic harvesting are used to find the optimum sustainable population of Loligo Duvauceli in order to preserve the resource. The data used for this study was obtained from Department of Fisheries. The aims of this study are to estimate to determine the stability of the equilibrium point. Then, the effect of the constant and the periodic harvesting on the population of squids analysed. Finally, to compare the results obtained between the two strategies. The best harvesting selected squids is periodic harvesting.

Pergau Dam as the largest hydroelectrical generation station in Peninsular Malaysia within a mountainous region; is supplied by many flowing river as its intakes. Previous researches within Pergau area mostly focused on biodiversity while this research was to carry out baseline investigation on the minerals present in the intakes sediment of Pergau Dam through surface sampling. Through stereoscopic observation, assemblages of quartz, plagioclase, feldspar, muscovite, and biotite minerals in sediments implies a granitoid source rock. By computing X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) chemical compositional data of sediments into chemical weathering indices, overall weathering condition of Pergau Dam intakes area are unweathered to low chemical weathering intensity. Through Combination of XRF data and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) patterns of mineral phases, detailed mineralogy of plagioclases, K-feldspars, sericites, chlorites and accessory minerals such as epidotes, zircon and monazite were identified. Mineral assemblage and Streckeisen Diagram plots indicate the granitoid source rocks of the sediments are quartz monzorite and quartz monzodiorite.

Poor Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) can adversely affect children's health, comfort and school performance. This study mainly aimed to assess indoor and outdoor air quality status in terms of physical and chemical aspects at nurseries of two higher public institutions. The monitored parameters are temperature (T), relative humidity (RH), air movement (AM), particulate matter (PM), carbon dioxide (CO2) and carbon monoxide (CO) by using Climomaster (RH, T, AM), Dust Trax™ (RSP )and Kanomax IAQ (CO, CO2). The measurement was taken continuously in a period of three days at two nurseries of public institutions. Results show all chemicals contaminants at two nurseries did not exceed the standard except CO2 for indoor concentration. Indoor-Outdoor (I/O) ratio stated that PM10 concentrations were influenced by the outdoor contaminant for both study areas. In conclusion, this study provides useful information for engineers, policy makers and planners to make decision on managing and improving the environment in terms of air quality.

Effect of Using Windscreen Glass Waste Powder (WGWP) As Cement Replacement on the Mechanical Properties of Mortar

Sustainability issues have obtained major attentions around the globe. In this regard, there are challenges which the cement and glass industries are facing due to the high greenhouse gases emissions, the intensive use of energy and the reduction of natural resources on earth. However, the chemical compositions and the pozzolanic properties of waste glass are very encouraging for its use in cement and concrete industries and to provide an environment-friendly solution. For sustainability, it is high time to look into the possibility of replacing cement with windscreen waste glass. A study was conducted on the effects of various proportions of windscreen glass waste powder (WGWP) on the compressive strength of mortar. The mortar was prepared by incorporating several compositions of WGWP (0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% by weight of cement), while three cement to sand (C:S) ratios of 1:2.5, 1:3.0 and 1:3.5 were employed. Fixed water to cement (w/c) ratio of 0.5 was used for this study. The samples were water cured and the assessment of the strength performance of mortar cubes was carried out at 7 and 28 days. Results have shown that WGWP has good pozzolanic properties. In term of compressive strength, it was observed that employing C:S ratio of 1:3.0 is better than 1:2.5 and 1:3.5 of C:S ratio.
