In this work, we investigate two salient chaotic features, namely Lyapunov exponent and butterfly velocity, in the context of an asymptotically Lifshitz black hole background with an arbitrary critical exponent. These features are computed using three methods: entanglement wedge method, out-of-time-ordered correlator computation and pole-skipping. We present a comparative study of the aforementioned features where all of these methods yield exactly similar results for the butterfly velocity and Lyapunov exponent. This establishes an equivalence between all three methods for probing chaos in the chosen gravity background. Furthermore, we evaluate the chaos at the classical level by computing the eikonal phase and Lyapunov exponent from the bulk gravity. These quantities emerge as nontrivial functions of the anisotropy index. By examining the classical eikonal phase, we uncover different scattering scenarios in the near-horizon and near-boundary regimes. The present work investigates, for the first time, the synthesis of a composite film based on glutaraldehyde-cross-linked chitosan (GA-CS) and a natural zeolite (H-ZSM-5) and its application for the removal of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) from aqueous solutions under wide experimental conditions. The composite film (GA-CS-ZEO) characterization by using various analytical techniques confirms its successful production with promising physical, chemical, and thermal properties. The use of the response surface methodology (RSM) for the optimization of the Cr(VI) adsorption by this composite shows that that the maximum removal efficiency (82.39%) was achieved for a Cr(VI) concentration of 50 mg L−1, an initial pH of 2.0, a contact time of 100 min, and a temperature of 20 °C. Moreover, the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and 3D graphs indicated that the pH and initial Cr(VI) concentration were the main factors that influence the Cr(VI) uptake efficiency. Besides that, the Cr(VI) removal by the GA-CS-ZEO was found to be spontaneous and endothermic and occurs mainly via physical mechanisms involving electrostatic interactions and hydrogen bonding. Regeneration study of the Cr(VI)-loaded composite showed that Cr(VI) can be rapidly and efficiently desorbed by 0.1 M sulfuric acid. The results of the current research work highlight the important adsorption potential of Cr(VI) by the GA-CS-ZEO composite film and underscore its attractiveness and suitability for water treatment applications. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2025.

We review recent results for forward jests at the LHC and EIC as obtained within small-x Improved Transverse Momentum Dependent factorization (ITMD). In addition to elementary overview of various approaches to perturbative QCD at high energy, including High Energy Factorization, Color Glass Condensate and ITMD, we describe the Monte Carlo implementation and discuss the existing and unpublished phenomenological results for forward dijets. Using the small-x Improved Transverse Momentum Dependent factorization (ITMD), which, for a general two-to-two massless scattering can be proved within the Color Glass Condensate (CGC) theory for transverse momenta of particles greater than the saturation scale, we provide predictions for isolated forward photon and jet production in proton-proton and proton-nucleus collisions within the planned ALICE FoCal detector acceptance. We study azimuthal correlations, pT spectra, as well as normalized ratios of proton-proton cross sections for different energies. The only TMD distribution needed for that process is the"dipole" TMD gluon distribution, which in our computations is based on HERA data and undergoes momentum space BK evolution equation with DGLAP corrections and Sudakov resummation. We conclude, that the process provides an excellent probe of the dipole TMD gluon distribution in saturation regime. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Exponential growth in digital information outlets and the race to publish has made scientific misinformation more prevalent than ever. However, the task to fact-verify a given scientific claim is not straightforward even for researchers. Scientific claim verification requires in-depth knowledge and great labor from domain experts to substantiate supporting and refuting evidence from credible scientific sources. The SciFact dataset and corresponding task provide a benchmarking leaderboard to the community to develop automatic scientific claim verification systems via extracting and assimilating relevant evidence rationales from source abstracts. In this work, we propose a modular approach that sequentially carries out binary classification for every prediction subtask as in the SciFact leaderboard. Our simple classifier-based approach uses reduced abstract representations to retrieve relevant abstracts. These are further used to train the relevant rationale-selection model. Finally, we carry out two-step stance predictions that first differentiate non-relevant rationales and then identify supporting or refuting rationales for a given claim. Experimentally, our system RerrFact with no fine-tuning, simple design, and a fraction of model parameters fairs competitively on the leaderboard against large-scale, modular, and joint modeling approaches. © 2022 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

We investigate the integrability of polynomial vector fields through the lens of duality in parameter spaces. We examine formal power series solutions annihilated by differential operators and explore the properties of the integrability variety in relation to the invariants of the associated Lie group. Our study extends to differential operators on affine algebraic varieties, highlighting the intrinsic connection between these operators and local analytic first integrals. To illustrate the duality the case of quadratic vector fields is considered in detail. © 2024, CC BY.

Visualizing a graph G in the plane nicely, for example, without crossings, is unfortunately not always possible. To address this problem, Masařík and Hliněný [10] recently asked for each edge of G to be drawn without crossings while allowing multiple different drawings of G. More formally, a collection D of drawings of G is uncrossed if, for each edge e of G, there is a drawing in D such that e is uncrossed. The uncrossed number unc(G) of G is then the minimum number of drawings in some uncrossed collection of G. No exact values of the uncrossed numbers have been determined yet, not even for simple graph classes. In this paper, we provide the exact values for uncrossed numbers of complete and complete bipartite graphs, partly confirming and partly refuting a conjecture posed by Hliněný and Masařík [10]. We also present a strong general lower bound on unc(G) in terms of the number of vertices and edges of G. Moreover, we prove NP-hardness of the related problem of determining the edge crossing number of a graph G, which is the smallest number of edges of G taken over all drawings of G that participate in a crossing. This research presents a novel electromagnetic-based sensor for inline measurement of unmilled rice paddy moisture content in the rice mill factory. The proposed sensor has been designed based on the modified planar dipole structure at the operating frequency of 440 MHz. The unmilled rice dielectric constant properties have been studied and applied for characterizing the moisture content. The unmilled rice moisture content sensor system then has been designed consisting of the proposed sensor, a microwave signal generator, a microwave signal detector, and a microcontroller. The moisture content sensor system has been implemented and used for measuring the unmilled rice paddy moisture content in a real rice mill factory in Udon Thani province, Thailand. When compared with the commercial rice moisture content tool based on a capacitance technique, the proposed rice moisture content sensor system gives almost same results, which only about 4% difference has been found.
