The Standard Model (SM) description of the CP violation can be tested by over-constraining the angles of the Unitary Triangle. Discrepancies between precise measurements of the Cabibbo–Kobayashi–Maskawa (CKM) angle γ in the tree-level and loop-dominated processes might provide evidence of physics beyond the Standard Model. Recent results of the CKM angle γ with special attention to decays from the B → DK family and preliminary background studies for Bs0 → Ds∗K∗ decays are presented in this paper. © 2020 Jagellonian University. It is well known that the MHV action, i.e. the action containing all the maximally helicity violating vertices, is alone not sufficient for loop computations. In order to develop loop contributions systematically and to ensure that there are no missing terms, we propose to formulate the quantum MHV action via one-loop effective action approach. The quadratic field fluctuations in the light cone Yang-Mills theory are explicitly integrated, followed by the classical canonical field transformation. We test the approach by calculating one loop (+ + ++) and (+ + +−) amplitudes, i.e. amplitudes that cannot be calculated from ordinary MHV action. Such an approach can be further used to unambiguously define loop corrections in other theories related to Yang-Mills theory by field transformations. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. We are experiencing a rapid evolution and advancement of technologies that are capable of supporting the formulation and implementation of robust and adaptive network architectures designed for mobile and dynamic environments. An example of such technologies is the Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET), which supports self-organizing multi-hop heterogeneous network routing services and organization. The importance of such technologies for the future of DoD networking is evident, particularly in the front edge of the battlespace where there is a need for robust and self-organizing network. Another area of such technological advancement is the Multi-Agent Systems (MAS), which are capable of supporting both team-based and independent problem solving in many different environments. These two technologies have been extensively explored, but their combination is largely unexplored. Consequently, this paper aims to investigate the joint operation of agents and multi-agent in the MANET environment. The paper also discusses the research efforts that have been made to optimally improve the technologies. © 2021 IEEE.

In this study, we performed calculations and analyses of the structure functions of polarized nucleons and light nuclei, specifically 3He and 3H, using second-order Feynman diagrams. Our investigation focused on two main aspects: Firstly, we examined the symmetry properties of polarized light sea quarks. Secondly, we conducted a detailed investigation into the impacts of symmetry breaking on the structure functions of both nucleons and nuclei. To achieve this, we utilized the existing polarized Parton Distribution Functions (polarized PDFs) available in the literature. These PDFs were used to calculate and compare the polarized structure functions g1 and g2 of the nuclei. Additionally, we examined and analyzed the Bjorken and Efremov-Leader-Teryaev sum rules by utilizing the moments of the polarized structure functions. The Lorentz color force components, namely FEy,n and FBy,n, are determined using the twist-2, twist-3, and twist-4 matrix elements. When symmetry breaking is applied, it is observed that they have similar magnitudes but opposite signs. Our theoretical predictions for the polarized structure functions of nucleons and light nuclei, taking into account the symmetry breaking of light sea quarks, exhibit better agreement with experimental data. © 2023, CC BY.

Petroleum products and medical drugs have been studied in order to determine 238U, 232Th, 222Rn, 220Rn and their progenies contents in them using mean detection efficiency based Solid State Nuclear Track Detectors (SSNTDs) experimental method. In the present paper, a Monte Carlo code based theoretical approach has been also developed to determine mean detection efficiencies of SSNTDs;this theoretical approach has been combined with experimental one for deriving levels of natural radioactivity inside different materials studied. The dependence of CR-39 and LR-115 type II mean detection efficiencies on initial alpha particle energy, removed thickness of SSNTDs and SSNTDs areas for different natural materials studied has been highlighted as well. The mean detection efficiency depends clearly on the initial alpha particle energy and the removed layer while it does depend neither on the detector surface nor on the nature of the material being studied. The results obtained using the present method and those obtained by mean critical angle based SSNTD technique and isotope dilution mass spectroscopy (IDMS) are in good agreement with each other: our method has less relative uncertainties, which do not exceed 4%, than the other methods, whose the relative uncertainties exceed 9% and 7%, respectively. © 2023, The Authors. Quantum query complexity mainly studies the number of queries needed to learn some property of a black box with high probability. A closely related question is how well an algorithm can succeed with this learning task using only a fixed number of queries. In this work, we propose measuring an algorithm’s performance using the mutual information between the output and the actual value. A key observation is that if an algorithm is only allowed to make a single query and the goal is to optimize this mutual information, then we obtain a task which is similar to a basic task of quantum communication, where one attempts to maximize the mutual information of the sender and receiver. We make this analogy precise by formally considering the oracle as a separate subsystem, whose state records the unknown oracle identity. The oracle query prepares a state, which is then measured;and the target property of the oracle plays the role of a message that should be deduced from the measurement outcome. Thus we obtain a link between the optimal single-query algorithm and minimization of the extent of quantum correlations between the oracle and the computer subsystems. We also find a lower bound on this mutual information, which is related to quantum coherence. These results extend to multiple-query non-adaptive algorithms. As a result, we gain insight into the task of finding the optimal non-adaptive algorithm that uses at most a fixed number of queries, for any oracle problem. © 2024, CC BY.

Inclusive production processes will be important for the first observations of XYZ states at new generation electron-hadron colliders, as they generally benefit from larger cross sections than their exclusive counterparts. We make predictions of semi-inclusive photoproduction of the χc1(1P) and X(3872), whose peripheral production is assumed to be dominated by vector exchanges. We validate the applicability of vector meson dominance in the axial-vector charmonium sector and calculate production rates at center-of-mass energies relevant for future experimental facilities. We find the semi-inclusive cross sections near the threshold to be enhanced by a factor of ∼2–3 compared to the exclusive reaction and well-suited for a first observation in photoproduction.

In this work, a mesh-free indicator is proposed to detect the bifurcation points of incompressible viscous fluid flow in a 2D sudden expansion. This indicator is mainly based on the high order mesh-free algorithm (HO-MFA) to solve the nonlinear problems obtained from the linear stability analysis. The Padé approximants are then used to improve the validity range of the HO-MFA and to determinate the roots of the indicator. The combination of these mathematical tools allows us to determine the zero of the indicator corresponding to the critical point. The Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction is used to search all the bifurcated branches from the critical point. To show the accuracy of our model, comparisons of the obtained results with those of the literature are made. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
