Fuzzy Flip-Flop Neural Networks are a type of neural network that combines the strengths of fuzzy logic and recurrent neural networks. In this article, a new method of training the Fuzzy Flip-Flop Neural Network is described. This combines classic particle swarm optimisation procedure with selected evolutionary procedures. Among these are mutation or crossing. The proposed algorithm is tested both on the example of regression of a simple function and then on benchmark data used for classification. In most test cases, the memetic procedure has been shown to provide fast convergence, high accuracy, and robustness, making it a popular choice for the learning and optimisation of Fuzzy Flip-Flop Neural Networks.

This paper employs the H+b+jets signature in proton-proton collisions to explore the structure of the Hbb¯ couplings. The focus of the analysis lies in the decay of the Higgs boson into a photon pair, taking into account both reducible and irreducible backgrounds and a realistic simulation of the detector effects. To enhance the discrimination between signal and background, a multivariate analysis is employed to analyze the kinematic variables and optimise the signal-to-background ratio. The results indicate that the H+b+jets process can significantly contribute to the precise measurement of CP-even and CP-odd couplings between the bottom quark and the Higgs boson at the LHC and FCC-hh. Finally, a novel asymmetry is introduced for the purpose of probing CP violation within the Hbb¯ coupling, formulated exclusively based on lab-frame momenta.

What are the fundamental limits and advantages of using a catalyst to aid thermodynamic transformations between quantum systems? In this paper, we answer this question by focusing on transformations between energy-incoherent states under the most general energy-conserving interactions among the system, the catalyst, and a thermal environment. The sole constraint is that the catalyst must return unperturbed and uncorrelated with the other subsystems. More precisely, we first upper bound the set of states to which a given initial state can thermodynamically evolve (the catalyzable future) or from which it can evolve (the catalyzable past) with the help of a strict catalyst. Secondly, we derive lower bounds on the dimensionality required for the existence of catalysts under thermal process, along with bounds on the catalyst's state preparation. Finally, we quantify the catalytic advantage in terms of the volume of the catalyzable future and demonstrate its utility in an exemplary task of generating entanglement and cooling a quantum system using thermal resources.

We propose a framework that unifies the description of light transmission through three-dimensional amorphous dielectric materials that exhibit both localization and a photonic bandgap. We argue that direct, coherent reflection near and in the bandgap attenuates the generation of diffuse or localized photons. Using the self-consistent theory of localization and considering the density of states of photons, we can quantitatively describe the total transmission of light for all transport regimes: transparency, light diffusion, localization, and bandgap. Comparison with numerical simulations of light transport through hyperuniform networks supports our theoretical approach.
