In the big data technology nowadays, activities associated with Multi-Label Classification (MLC) pose big and complex challenges, receiving terrific interest in diverse fields. Existing MLC algorithms suffer from low overall performance. This paper considers four well-known Problem Transformation Methods (PTMs). Two of these PTMs are based on the frequency of the labels (MFL and LFL) while the last two PTMs are based on the positive correlations among labels. These PTMs have been implemented and compared against four multi label datasets of various sizes to identify the best one that fits the nature of MLC datasets. Moreover, six popular ensemble learning models have been carried out and compared on the four datasets with respect to several evaluation metrics such as Accuracy, Hamming loss, and Exact Match and using SMO, DecisionStump, Random Forest, and Random Commission classifiers. The results revealed that MFL accomplished the quality performance amongst the four PTMs, and Stacking SVM is the best ensemble learning technique. © 2024 IEEE.

Although convolutional neural network(CNN)paradigms have expanded to transfer learning and ensemble models from original individual CNN architectures,few studies have focused on the performance comparison of the applicability of these techniques in detecting and localizing rice ***,most CNN-based rice disease detection studies only considered a small number of diseases in their *** these shortcomings were addressed in this *** this study,a rice disease classification comparison of six CNN-based deep-learning architectures(DenseNet121,Inceptionv3,MobileNetV2,resNext101,Resnet152V,and Seresnext101)was conducted using a database of nine of the most epidemic rice diseases in *** addition,we applied a transfer learning approach to DenseNet121,MobileNetV2,Resnet152V,Seresnext101,and an ensemble model called DEX(Densenet121,EfficientNetB7,and Xception)to compare the six individual CNN networks,transfer learning,and ensemble *** results suggest that the ensemble framework provides the best accuracy of 98%,and transfer learning can increase the accuracy by 17%from the results obtained by Seresnext101 in detecting and localizing rice leaf *** high accuracy in detecting and categorisation rice leaf diseases using CNN suggests that the deep CNN model is promising in the plant disease detection domain and can significantly impact the detection of diseases in real-time agricultural *** research is significant for farmers in rice-growing countries,as like many other plant diseases,rice diseases require timely and early identification of infected diseases and this research develops a rice leaf detection system based on CNN that is expected to help farmers to make fast decisions to protect their agricultural yields and quality.

The rapid expansion of urban infrastructure and construction projects require efficient monitoring and security measures in surveillance areas. Traditional methods of ground-level surveillance have limitations such as time-consuming, small exploring areas, and requiring a lot of people or ground-level surveillance devices. In response to this challenge, aerial images are valuable and widely used for various reasons in different fields. They can be used to monitor various areas from the top view. This study provides a method for the detection of backhoes in the surveillance area using aerial images with modified Faster-RCNN. Initially, aerial images were sent to the Resnet-101 structured convolution network to automatically extract features from the input image. The outcome will be the input of two sub-networks, a region proposal network and a Fast-RCNN. This proposed method modified the anchor box sizes in the region proposal network to be suitable to detect very small backhoes from aerial images. Additionally, RoI pooling and RoI align were evaluated and compared a result of a backhoe detection. To evaluate the proposed approach, five iterations of hold-out method with RoI pooling and RoI align technique with different anchor box sizes were experimented. The experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed system, achieving high precision and recall rates in backhoe detection tasks. This study found that RoI align gives the best backhoe detection result, 86.8% of the mean average precision value while the RoI pooling, the original pooling technique from Faster R-RCNN give mean average precision only 76.7%. © 2023 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). To solve conservation laws,efficient schemes such as essentially nonoscillatory(ENO)and weighted ENO(WENO)have been introduced to control the Gibbs *** on radial basis functions(RBFs)with the classical WENO-JS weights,a new type of WENO schemes has been proposed to solve conservation laws[*** et al.,***.,70(2017),pp.551–575].The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new formulation of conservative finite difference RBFWENO schemes to solve conservation *** the usual method for reconstructing the flux functions,the flux function is generated directly with the conservative *** with Guo and Jung(2017),the main advantage of this framework is that arbitrary monotone fluxes can be employed,while in Guo and Jung(2017)only smooth flux splitting can be used to reconstruct flux *** 1D and 2D benchmark problems are prepared to demonstrate the good performance of the new scheme.

Wireless sensor network (WSN) applications are added day by day owing to numerous global uses (by the military, for monitoring the atmosphere, in disaster relief, and so on). Here, trust management is a main challenge. Sensor nodes are important in wireless sensor networks, but they are easily depleted because of their short lifespan from continuous sensing activity and low battery capacity. So efficient energy utilization is a challenging task in a WSN. To minimize energy loss, clustering with an optimum path selection process is needed to retain energy in sensor nodes. This manuscript proposes multi-objective Pelican Optimization Algorithm (POA) routing to maintain energy efficiency and minimize transmission distances in wireless sensor networks. A cluster head (CH) is selected by using a Separable Convolution Neural Network (SCNN). Simulation outcomes prove the proposed technique attains 22.3% and 25.04% improvements in energy consumption when compared to the Multi-Objective CH Energy-aware Optimized Routing Approach at WSN (MOCH-EORA-WSN) and Multiple Optimum Cluster Head Multi-Objective Grasshopper Optimization with Harmony-search at WSN (MOCH-MOGOH-WSN), respectively. © 2024 Institute of Electronics Engineers of Korea. Recycling of borosilicate waste glasses through doping with bismuth (III) oxide (Bi₂O₃): Enhancing the structure and radiation shielding properties

The present study successfully illustrated the radiation shielding capacities of borosilicate waste glasses enriched with Bismuth(III) oxide (Bi2O3) and their improved physical characteristics. The glass samples, designated as BSG, BSG-10B, and BSG-20B, were carefully fabricated by incorporating 10 % and 20 % Bi2O3 into borosilicate waste glass. This led to enhanced density and hardness, as evidenced by Vickers hardness measurements of 468, 509, and 567 HV, and densities of 2.11, 2.46, and 2.83 g/cm³, respectively. The current study verified that Bi2O3 effectively improved the radiation shielding properties, with the BSG-20B sample exhibiting superior Linear Attenuation Coefficient (LAC) and reduced Half Value Layer (HVL), particularly at lower photon energies, due to bismuth's high atomic number., owing to the high atomic number of bismuth. The PHITS code's accuracy in estimating mass attenuation coefficients (μ/ρ) was tested, with deviations below 2 % compared to the XCOM database, providing trustworthy simulation results. BSG-20B demonstrated comparable, if not better, performance across all photon energy levels compared to radiation shielding glasses used in commercial applications. This emphasizes its potential as an efficient material for protecting against radiation and as a sustainable solution for managing trash by reusing borosilicate waste. Finally, Among the samples tested, BSG-20B exhibited the best radiation shielding performance, with superior Linear Attenuation Coefficient (LAC) and reduced Half Value Layer (HVL), particularly at lower photon energies, demonstrating its potential as an efficient alternative to traditional radiation shielding materials. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

Two-dimensional Janus perovskite oxynitrides as active photocatalysts for overall water splitting with ferroelectric modulation

Two-dimensional (2D) Janus structure is promising for photocatalytic water splitting because its intrinsic built-in electric field can overpass the bandgap requirements of photocatalysts. However, how to achieve overall water splitting spontaneously in one structure is still difficult. Here, we present a novel family of 2D Janus perovskite oxynitrides, BaXNO2 (X = Ta, Nb, V), with a large intrinsic built-in electric field based on first-principles calculations. Both 2D BaTaNO2 and BaNbNO2 exhibit remarkable activity for photocatalytic overall water splitting. For BaNbNO2, a lowest overpotential of 0.44 V for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is realized. The Gibbs free energy of hydrogen adsorption (ΔGH) is near zero (0.02 eV) for BaTaNO2 in the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Interestingly, 2D BaVNO2 shows in-plane ferroelectricity due to the displacement of V ions accompanied by a ferroelastic distortion of the lattice, which modulates the band structures, resulting in optimized band alignment. The photocatalytic performance can be further improved by constructing a BaNbNO2/BaVNO2 heterostructure, which has an overpotential of 0.47 V for the OER and ΔGH of 0.16 eV for the HER. Our theoretical investigation provides not only a guidance to design Janus photocatalysts for full water splitting, but also strategies to modulate the photocatalytic performance through ferroelectricity. © 2023 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

The internal structure of nucleons and interactions between their components have been debated ever since the existence of quarks was postulated. A lot of experimental evidence has been gathered, indicating that nucleons and their excited states are not simple static quark states but are significantly influenced by the dynamics of baryon-meson interactions. In this context it is interesting to extend internal structure studies to hyperons, particles where one light quark of a nucleon is replaced by a heavier strange quark, e.g. Λ, Σ or Σ+(1385), or excited states such as: Λ(1520) or Λ(1405). Many competing models, including also those based on the dynamical state generation, try to describe the internal structure of these hyperons. The predictions are sensitive to e.g. relative widths of radiative decays of hyperons. In order to discriminate between models, it is helpful to measure radiative decays (with emission of a γ or e+e-pairs) and hadronic decays, e.g. Λ(1520) → Σ+(1385) π-, ?(1405) → Σ π. These decays are largely unexplored at present and are the motivation for the project presented in this talk. The goal of this project is to study the production of Σ+(1385), Λ(1520) and Λ(1405) hyperons produced in proton-proton at beam energies ranging from 3.5 GeV to 4.5 GeV with HADES detector at FAIR. The analysis described in this work is a first step in this direction and presents results of Σ+(1385) production in p + p at 3.5 GeV. © 2023 Sissa Medialab Srl. All rights reserved.

This research aims to study the impact of yttrium oxide on the radiation protection features of polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) for gamma shielding *** yttrium oxide(Y_(2)O_(3)) was instilled through the PVA matrix by different contents(x=0.1 wt%,0,3 wt%,0,7 wt%,0,9 wt%),The morphology of the prepared PVA/Y_(2)O_(3)composites was characterized using scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The samples were investigated using absorption edge,transmittance spectra and dielectric *** transmittance and the bandgap energy decrease as the Y2O3content increases while there is an increase in ε’ and ε" as well as the ac conductivity with the content increment of Y_(2)O_(3)till 0.7 wt%.The te mperature dependence of the dc conductivity was measured for all samples in the range of 260-460 K,and it increases with the temperature *** correlate the electrical characteristics of the PVA/Y_(2)O_(3)composites with their structure and evaluate electrical properties with the help of equivalent circuit matching with the experimentally electrical response in the impedance spectrum,the radiation protection properties were also investigated to get the radiation shielding performance of these PVA/Y_(2)O_(3)composite films with varying Y_(2)O(3)*** linear attenuation coefficient(μ),half value layer(T_(0.5)),and mass attenuation coefficient(μm) were *** to all obtained data,PVA/Y_(2)O_(3)composite films with various percentages(0.1 wt%,0.3 wt%,0.7 wt%,0.9 wt%) can be used as a radiation shielding material.
