In the last few years, artificial intelligence has shown its importance and ability in computer vision due to its high level of accuracy and wide acceptance. The main goal of the research is to look into a better way to separate different types of fruits. Although deep learning is used, the standard classification methods for different types of fruit don't work very well. The main steps of the recommended better multiple fruit classification method are: 1) Making changes to the filter's size. Selecting the most suitable number of repeats is part of the process of improving the ResNet-101 block. 3) It is proposed that there be one more convolutional layer. Exists support for the suggested method after collecting and labeling 27,000 pictures as part of an actual study. The dataset with many fruits is split into two parts: 80% is used for training and 20% is used for testing. These pictures were used to train an application based on deep learning (DL) to help successfully determine multiple fruit objects in images. Then and then possible to compare the results of this method to the most current methods in the area of object division. The application being studied at does better than expected in terms of accuracy AP in a range of levels. The values always go farther than the equivalent measures of three widely used methods. Compared to the other methods, the suggested one takes less time to train. There are higher numbers for the thresholds than there are for the state of the art method's thresholds © 2024 IEEE.

Multi-Label Classification (MLC) is an advanced form of traditional classification, where each data instance is simultaneously associated with multiple labels. The importance of MLC has increased significantly in recent years, due to its wide range of application areas. Modern algorithms, when faced with the challenge of multiple labels, continue to show suboptimal performance, conversely, they show significantly superior performance when processing single-label datasets. This paper proposes a new algorithm to deal with the problem of transforming datasets from multiple labels to single labels by exploiting conditional and local correlations between labels after applying the Apriori predictive algorithm to extract relationships. Six ensemble learning models: Voting Hard, Voting Soft, Voting Weighted, Stacking LR, Stacking RF, and Stacking SVM, along with four classification models: SMO, DecisionStump, Random Forest, and Random Committee, were applied to three datasets. The algorithm showed effective and good performance by comparing the results of the proposed Multi Label Classification algorithm based on Conditional Local Correlations among Labels (MLC-CLCL) with several popular algorithms for dealing with multiple labels. © 2024 IEEE.

Effect of Introducing Leucine Residues into 2-Aminoisobutyric Acid-Based Amphiphilic Helical Peptides on Intermolecular Interactions and Peptide Self-Assembly

In recent years, self-assembling de novo-designed peptides have attracted increasing attention as materials for constructing submicrometer-scale structures. We have previously conducted structure-activity relationship studies on the BXBA-20 series of 20-residue amphiphilic peptides containing 2-aminoisobutyric acid (Aib) [Higashimoto, Y. et al. (1999) J. Biochem. 125, 705-712;Hara, T. et al. (2001) J. Biochem. 130, 749-755;Taira, J. et al. (2010) J. Pept. Sci. 16, 607-612]. These peptides share the common sequence Ac-(Aib-Xxx-Aib-Ala)₅-NH₂, where the introduction of a hydrophilic amino acid at the Xxx position results in the formation of a hydrophilic face on one side of the helix. Among them, some peptides exhibited weak intermolecular association and interactions with lipid membranes, though none demonstrated the ability to form submicrometer-scale structures through self-assembly. In this study, we present BKBL-20, a new member of this peptide series incorporating leucine on the hydrophobic face and lysine on the hydrophilic face. Circular dichroism spectroscopy indicated strong association in buffer, while hemolysis assays revealed significant membrane disruption. Transmission electron microscopy further confirmed the formation of ordered fibrous or array-like structures. These findings suggest that BKBL-20 successfully combines self-assembly and membrane-disruptive functions. © 2025 The Authors. Published by American Chemical Society.

This research aims to enhance Clinical Decision Support Systems(CDSS)within Wireless Body Area Networks(WBANs)by leveraging advanced machine learning ***,we target the challenges of accurate diagnosis in medical imaging and sequential data analysis using Recurrent Neural Networks(RNNs)with Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)layers and echo state *** models are tailored to improve diagnostic precision,particularly for conditions like rotator cuff tears in osteoporosis patients and gastrointestinal *** diagnostic methods and existing CDSS frameworks often fall short in managing complex,sequential medical data,struggling with long-term dependencies and data imbalances,resulting in suboptimal accuracy and delayed *** goal is to develop Artificial Intelligence(AI)models that address these shortcomings,offering robust,real-time diagnostic *** propose a hybrid RNN model that integrates SimpleRNN,LSTM layers,and echo state cells to manage long-term dependencies ***,we introduce CG-Net,a novel Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)framework for gastrointestinal disease classification,which outperforms traditional CNN *** further enhance model performance through data augmentation and transfer learning,improving generalization and robustness against data scarcity and *** validation,including 5-fold cross-validation and metrics such as accuracy,precision,recall,F1-score,and Area Under the Curve(AUC),confirms the models’***,SHapley Additive exPlanations(SHAP)and Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations(LIME)are employed to improve model *** findings show that the proposed models significantly enhance diagnostic accuracy and efficiency,offering substantial advancements in WBANs and CDSS.

An Attention-Based Deep Network for Plant Disease Classification

Plant disease classification using machine learning in a real agricultural field environment is a difficult task. Often, an automated plant disease diagnosis method might fail to capture and interpret discriminatory information due to small variations among leaf sub-categories. Yet, modern Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have achieved decent success in discriminating various plant diseases using leave images. A few existing methods have applied additional pre-processing modules or sub-networks to tackle this challenge. Sometimes, the feature maps ignore partial information for holistic description by part-mining. A deep CNN that emphasizes integration of partial descriptiveness of leaf regions is proposed in this work. The efficacious attention mechanism is integrated with high-level feature map of a base CNN for enhancing feature representation. The proposed method focuses on important diseased areas in leaves, and employs an attention weighting scheme for utilizing useful neighborhood information. The proposed Attention-based network for Plant Disease Classification (APDC) method has achieved state-of-the-art performances on four public plant datasets containing visual/thermal images. The best top-1 accuracies attained by the proposed APDC are: PlantPathology 97.74%, PaddyCrop 99.62%, PaddyDoctor 99.65%, and PlantVillage 99.97%. As the Internet of Things(IoT)continues to expand,incorporating a vast array of devices into a digital ecosystem also increases the risk of cyber threats,necessitating robust defense *** paper presents an innovative hybrid deep learning architecture that excels at detecting IoT threats in real-world *** proposed model combines Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN),Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory(BLSTM),Gated Recurrent Units(GRU),and Attention mechanisms into a cohesive *** integrated structure aims to enhance the detection and classification of complex cyber threats while accommodating the operational constraints of diverse IoT *** evaluated our model using the RT-IoT2022 dataset,which includes various devices,standard operations,and simulated *** research’s significance lies in the comprehensive evaluation metrics,including Cohen Kappa and Matthews Correlation Coefficient(MCC),which underscore the model’s reliability and predictive *** model surpassed traditional machine learning algorithms and the state-of-the-art,achieving over 99.6%precision,recall,F1-score,False Positive Rate(FPR),Detection Time,and accuracy,effectively identifying specific threats such as Message Queuing Telemetry Transport(MQTT)Publish,Denial of Service Synchronize network packet crafting tool(DOS SYN Hping),and Network Mapper Operating System Detection(NMAP OS DETECTION).The experimental analysis reveals a significant improvement over existing detection systems,significantly enhancing IoT security *** our experimental analysis,we have demonstrated a remarkable enhancement in comparison to existing detection systems,which significantly strength-ens the security standards of *** model effectively addresses the need for advanced,dependable,and adaptable security solutions,serving as a symbol of the power of deep learning in strengthening IoT ecosystems amidst the constantly evolving cyber threat *** achievemen

Software maintenance is the process of fixing,modifying,and improving software deliverables after they are delivered to the *** can benefit from offshore software maintenance outsourcing(OSMO)in different ways,including time savings,cost savings,and improving the software quality and *** of the hardest challenges for the OSMO vendor is to choose a suitable project among several clients’*** goal of the current study is to recommend a machine learning-based decision support system that OSMO vendors can utilize to forecast or assess the project of OSMO *** projects belong to OSMO vendors,having offices in developing countries while providing services to developed *** the current study,Extreme Learning Machine’s(ELM’s)variant called Deep Extreme Learning Machines(DELMs)is used.A novel dataset consisting of 195 projects data is proposed to train the model and to evaluate the overall efficiency of the proposed *** proposed DELM’s based model evaluations achieved 90.017%training accuracy having a value with 1.412×10^(-3) Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and 85.772%testing accuracy with 1.569×10^(-3) RMSE with five DELMs hidden *** results express that the suggested model has gained a notable recognition rate in comparison to any previous *** current study also concludes DELMs as the most applicable and useful technique for OSMO client’s project assessment.

Thermally conductive polymer nanocomposites integrated with lightweight,excellent flexural strength,and high fracture toughness(KIc)would be of great use in many ***,achieving all of these properties simultaneously remains a great *** by natural nacre,here we demonstrate a lightweight,strong,tough,and thermally conductive boron nitride nanosheet/epoxy layered(BNNEL)*** of the layered structure and enhancing the interfacial interactions through hydrogen bonding and Si–O–B covalent bonding,the resulting nacre-inspired BNNEL nanocomposites show high fracture toughness of~4.22 MPa·m^(1/2),which is 7 folds as high as pure ***,the BNNEL nanocomposites demonstrate sufficient flexural strength(~168.90 MPa,comparable to epoxy resin),while also being lightweight(~1.23 g/cm^(3)).Additionally,the BNNEL nanocomposites display a thermal conductivity(κ)of~0.47 W/(m·K)at low boron nitride nanosheet loading of 2.08 vol.%,which is 2.7 times higher than that of pure epoxy *** developed nacre-inspired strategy of layered structure design and interfacial enhancement provides an avenue for fabricating high mechanical properties and thermally conductive polymer nanocomposites.

Localised Corrosion of API 5L X65 Carbon Steel in Marine Environments: The Role of Sulfate-Reducing Bacteria (SRB)

This research investigates the behaviour of microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) of sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) on API 5L X65 carbon steel in the presence of CO2 gas. The weight loss test, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarisation were implemented to determine the corrosion behaviours. Biofilms, corrosion products and pit penetration rate were characterised by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and infinite focus microscope (IFM). Findings from weight loss confirmed that specimens in the absence of SRB promote uniform corrosion with a higher corrosion rate value of 1.05 mm per yr compared to the pit penetration rate of 0.12 mm per yr. The IFM analysis shows that samples with the SRB presence promote localised corrosion due to the higher pit penetration rate value of 0.81 mm per yr than the uniform corrosion rate of 0.57 mm per yr. Furthermore, EIS measurements confirmed that corrosion products and biofilm formations affect the corrosion process. The surface analysis proved the presence of sulfur on metal specimens exposed to SRB in CO2 environments;this indication supports the formation of the FeS layer. Finally, the XRD test affirmed the formation of Fe3C and FeS in samples exposed to the SRB. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
