This study focuses on doping TiO2 with trace amounts of Ag⁺ ions, employing spray pyrolysis to prepare the Ag-doped TiO2 photoelectrode for application in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs). In this regard, Ag-doped TiO2 nanomaterials were initially synthesized through rapid steam hydrolysis of Titanium(IV) isopropoxide (TTIP) with varying concentrations (1, 3, 5, and 7 mmol%) of Silver nitrate (AgNO3) followed by hydrothermal treatment. Then, the synthesized nanomaterials were coated separately on FTO glass substrates via spray pyrolysis to prepare the corresponding photoelectrodes. The structural and optical characterizations of the synthesized nanomaterials confirmed the presence of TiO2 in pure anatase phase and enhanced light absorption, respectively. The morphological characterization of Ag-doped TiO2 nanomaterials revealed spherical shaped particles. Subsequently, the DSSCs were fabricated using Ruthenium-based N719 dye and imidazolium iodide/ triiodide redox couple as the sensitizer and electrolyte, respectively. Photovoltaic performances were evaluated under simulated solar irradiation (100 mW cm−2, 1 sun, AM 1.5). The optimized device with 3 mmol% Ag-doped TiO2 photoelectrode exhibited PCE (η) of 8.32%, which was about 13% greater than the device with un-doped TiO2 (η = 7.35%). The observed upsurge in PCE is due to the 10% increase in Jsc value resulting from enhancement in visible light absorption which was confirmed by UV-Visible spectroscopic analysis. Moreover, an improved electron transport in the Ag-doped TiO2 based device was confirmed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopic studies which is ascribed to the significant reduction in charge recombination. These findings demonstrate the potential of Ag-doped TiO2 for enhanced DSSC performance, offering a viable pathway for improving solar energy conversion efficiency. © 2025, The Authors. Reduced gravity impact on mixed convection flow plays a significant role for designing of electric-generating plants in space, unwanted effects of free convection, thermodynamic stability, space devices, surface tension and movement of nanoparticles. The novelty of present work is to find the impact of reduced gravity, Joule heating and thermal radiations on Darcy Forchheimer magnetized flow of nanofluid along the stretching porous sheet. The variable gravity is assumed as temperature dependent with maximum density and maximum density. The governing model is converted into convenient model to find physical thermo parameters. The primitive steady, real and imaginary equations are formed by using stokes and primitive transformations. To make programming algorithm in FORTRAN Lahey-90/95, the primitively terms are deduced in each equation. For tabular and numerical findings of steady velocity, temperature and concentration, the implicit form of finite difference approach is applied with Gaussian elimination method. The fluctuating skin friction, fluctuating heat transfer and fluctuating mass transfer are displayed by using steady outcomes in main formula. It is found that the magnitude of fluid velocity enhances as magnetic force, reduced gravity and Darcy Forchheimer parameter enhances. It is concluded that temperature distribution decreases as magnetic force enhances. It is noted that oscillating frequency in skin friction and heat transfer enhances as Schmidt number enhances. It is found that the maximum fluctuating layer in heat and mass transfer enhances as Prandtl number enhances. © 2024 The Author(s)

XRPIX is the monolithic X-ray SOI (silicon-on-insulator) pixel detector, which has a time resolution better than 10 µs as well as a high detection efficiency for X-rays above 10 keV. XRPIX is planned to be installed on future X-ray satellites. To mount on satellites, it is essential that the ADC (analog-to-digital converter) be implemented on the detector because such peripheral circuits must be as compact as possible to achieve a large imaging area in the limited space in satellites. Thus, we developed a new XRPIX device with the on-chip ADC, and evaluated its performances. As the results, the integral non-linearity was evaluated to be 6 LSB (least significant bit), equivalent to 36 eV. The differential non-linearity was less than 0.7 LSB, and input noise from the on-chip ADC was 5 e−. Also, we evaluated end-to-end performance including the sensor part as well as the on-chip ADC. As the results, energy resolution at 5.9 keV was 294 ± 4 eV in full-width at half maximum for the best pixel. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

This paper contributes in the first part to the correct understanding of the linear limit in the Schamel equation (S-equation) from the perspective of structure formation in collisionless plasmas. The corresponding modes near equilibrium turn out to be nonlinear modes of the underlying microscopic Vlasov-Poisson (VP) system, for which particle trapping is essential and which propagate with one of the slow acoustic velocities. A simple shift of the electrostatic potential to a new pedestal leads to non-negativity and thus mitigates the positivity problem of the S-equation. The stability of a solitary electron hole (bright soliton), based on both the S-equation and an earlier transverse but limited VP instability analysis, exhibits marginal longitudinal stability and linear perturbations in the form of the asymmetric shift eigenmode of a solvable Schrödinger problem. This finding on the predominance of shift-mode perturbation thus provides a new clue for the general kinetic proof of the marginal stability and transversal instability of electrostatic structures including undisclosed potentials. Effects of growth temperature and reactor pressure on the photoluminescence (PL) properties were investigated. The emission intensity improved significantly when the QWs were grown at 100 Torr, compared to higher pressure growths. The effect of well-width on the luminescence properties was investigated and an optimum well width of 40 Å was determined. Excitation dependent PL measurements revealed no shift in the PL emission wavelength suggesting the absence of electric field in the quantum wells. This work aims at applying the theory of the component-based normalization for the Jagiellonian PET scanner, currently under development at the Jagiellonian University. In any Positron Emission Tomography acquisition, efficiency along a line-of-response can vary due to several physical and geometrical effects, leading to severe artifacts in the reconstructed image. To mitigate these effects, a normalization coefficient is applied to each line-of-response, defined as the product of several components. Specificity of the Jagiellonian PET scanner geometry is taken into account. Results obtained from GATE simulations are compared with preliminary results obtained from experimental data. © 2022, CC BY.

A discrete-time model is proposed for an insurance company with a Poisson stream of new insurance policies added to the portfolio and a mixed Poisson stream of insurance claims. Recent theoretical studies have suggested that Kitaev physics and such effects as formation of a mysterious spin-liquid state can be expected not only in α−RuCl3 and iridates, but also in conventional 3d transition metal compounds. Using dc and ac magnetometry, thermodynamic, and Na23 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements we studied such a candidate material Na3Co2SbO6. A full phase diagram of Na3Co2SbO6 in a wide range of magnetic fields and temperatures is presented. The results demonstrate transformation of the antiferromagnetic structure under the external magnetic field, gradual development of the saturation phase, as well as evidence of gapped behavior in certain parts of the phase diagram.

Spin anticoherent states acquired recently a lot of attention as the most "quantum" states. Some coherent and anticoherent spin states are known as optimal quantum rotosensors. In this work, we introduce a measure of quantumness for orthonormal bases of spin states, determined by the average anticoherence of individual vectors and the Wehrl entropy. In this way, we identify the most coherent and most quantum states, which lead to orthogonal measurements of extreme quantumness. Their symmetries can be revealed using the Majorana stellar representation, which provides an intuitive geometrical representation of a pure state by points on a sphere. Results obtained lead to maximally (minimally) entangled bases in the 2j + 1 dimensional symmetric subspace of the 22j dimensional space of states of multipartite systems composed of 2j qubits.
