Spectrum sensing is a core function at cognitive radio systems to have spectrum awareness. This could be achieved by collecting samples from the frequency band under observation to make a conclusion whether the band is occupied, or it is a spectrum hole. The task of sensing is becoming more challenging especially at wideband spectrum scenario. The difficulty is due to conventional sampling rate theory which makes it infeasible to sample such very wide range of frequencies and the technical requirements are very costly. Recently, compressive sensing introduced itself as a pioneer solution that relaxed the wideband sampling rate requirements. It showed the ability to sample a signal below the Nyquist sampling rate and reconstructed it using very few measurements. In this paper, we discuss the approaches used for solving compressed spectrum sensing problem for wideband cognitive radio networks and how the problem is formulated and rendered to improve the detection performance.

Farmers explore the capabilities for applications of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) with image processing, pattern recognition and machine learning, so its logical to ask where best to apply this technology for maximum effect. Machines can do automated tasks better, cheaper and faster. One can use the camera from the sky and measure things on the earth especially on cropland from drones and satellites. Over time, drones have increased in capabilities and fallen in cost, and their use has greatly expanded especially in complex terrain. High quality remote sensing with spectral imaging using drones makes them interesting for regular use in Precision Agriculture (PA). Drones are often used in agriculture in ways that were highly controversial only a short time ago even there are no unified legislation on drones usage in agriculture. Currently, for the purposes of recorded ECG signals (electrocardiograms) interpretation, the classical methods involving analysis of geometrical properties of the recorded waveforms in time domain are used. Such an analysis consists in determining the values of parameters describing the heart rate and rhythm. However, these indicators can not be treated as an infallible criterion for diagnosis and, moreover, the limits of increasing the accuracy of ECG analysis by increasing the accuracy of determining its characteristic points have already been reached. Therefore, in the paper, for the purposes of analysis of registered ECG signals and acoustical recordings of heart work, it is proposed to use the recurrence plots and RQA analysis methods that consist in searching for the recurrence properties of the registered signals. Application of the recurrence-based methods is natural due to the cyclic character of the heart work while providing patterns characteristic for different cardiac dysfunctions supported by objective, quantitative measures will contribute to early, credible and reliable classification of cardiovascular dysfunction.

A 10-kW polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) stack was designed and built as part of a hybrid power source to supply a motor glider. The power of the PEMFC stack reached ~10 kW for the electrical parameters I = 61 A, U = 153 V. The time of operation of the stack under an electrical load close to 10 kW was strongly dependent on the pressure of the hydrogen fuel stored composite tanks, which could be varied from 220 bar for 30 min to 700 bar for 80 min. It was found that the electrical efficiency of the constructed 10-kW PEMFC stack was greater than 50%.

This paper presents an idea of wirelessly powered mobile sensors utilizing cloud management system similar to the swarm robotics. Sensors are based on the previously developed wireless passive sensors working with RFID protocol in the HF range. Preliminary research presented in this paper is related to the energy harvesting efficiency evaluation and the possibility to wirelessly power an electric motor. Performed experiments show that the magnetic field generated by the RFID reader antenna provides enough amount of energy not only to perform communication, measurements and computation, but to power the actuators as well. Achieved results state a base for further investigation in the area of wireless passive mobile sensors.
