Multicore system on chip has led to the evolution of many research areas due to the advances in circuit technology design and performance issues. Mesh topology is the most common template that was proposed for the communication of the network on chip due to its scalability and simplest form. This paper investigates the effect of bounded pareto job size distribution on the performance of well-known non-contiguous allocation strategies (GABL, Random, MBS, Paging (0)) based on different communication patterns (Near Neighbor, One to All, and Random) and various scheduling strategies (First-Come-First-Served (FCFS), Out-of-Order (OO), and Window-Based) in 2D mesh NoCs. The results show that the performance of the non-contiguous allocation strategies is improved when the distribution of job size is bounded pareto. Also, the results for the two job size distributions considered (i.e. uniform distribution and bounded pareto distribution) show that GABL, MBS, and paging (0) allocation strategies outperform Random allocation strategy. Moreover, the results reveal that the scheduling strategies OO and window-based improve the system performance over FCFS scheduling and also near neighbor communication has the best performance among other communication patterns considered in this research work. © 2024 IEEE.

Quantum random number generators (QRNG) are the prime source of randomness, by exploiting the unpredictable nature of Quantum mechanics QRNG aims to provide a string of completely random utterly unpredictable numbers. QRNGs are crucial for cryptography, scientific calculation, simulation, and many more real-world applications. Our Optical Quantum Random Number Generator (OQRNG) utilizes a high-speed pulsating laser, a Polarizing beam splitter (PBS), photodetectors, and advanced signal processing units that capture and digitize random photon intensity forming the raw random bit stream. This technique is famously known as Branching Path Technique. After that, we implement rigorous testing that encompasses the statistical randomness tests developed by National Institute of Standards and technology (NIST) to ensure the guaranteed ran-domness meets security standards. A user-friendly Graphic user interface (GUI) simplifies interaction with the QRNG allowing the user to configure device settings, monitor system performance, and securely extract random numbers. Our findings help us demonstrate the superiority of QRNGs over classical random number generators, and highlight the potential of photon-based QRNGs and their environmentally friendly and efficient random number generation. © 2024 IEEE.

A Novel Split Learning-Based Consumer Electronics Network Traffic Anomaly Detection Framework for Smart City Environment

Due to technology advancement, connectivity and intelligence have revolutionized the consumer electronics (CE) world and IoT systems pose a new cybersecurity threat because smart devices are constantly connected to sensors, which are connected directly to enormous cloud servers. To address the cybersecurity vulnerabilities associated with IoT in smart cities, we provide a Software Defined Network (SDN) orchestrated anomaly detection system based on Split Learning (SL). The traffic generated by the CE is pre-processed and the relevant traffic features are selected. Then the model is split into at least two sub-models using SL to detach model training from the necessity for direct access to raw data. Client-side sub-models are trained on local training data on client devices, whereas server-side sub-models are trained on servers. Experiments show that the proposed SL-based CE network anomaly detection framework decreases computation needs on the client side by just computing a sub-model rather than the complete computationally costly model. The proposed solution has the potential to detect compromised CE network traffic in smart city environments. As evidenced by our results, the proposed framework performed significantly better than the existing state-of-the-art anomaly detection system in terms of accuracy. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems rely heavily on data sharing to develop more accurate and effective algorithms. However, data sharing presents several challenges, including privacy concerns, security risks, and ownership issues. To address these challenges, organizations must implement effective data sharing strategies that maintain data privacy and security while leveraging the strengths and expertise of other organizations. This paper provides a comprehensive review of techniques and best practices for overcoming the challenges of data sharing in AI systems. The research concludes that there is no such dataprivacy technique one-size-fits-all solution. The choice of technique will depend on several factors, such as the sensitivity of the data being shared, the regulatory environment, and the desired level of data privacy. © 2023 IEEE.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has the potential to revolutionize agriculture by enabling precise monitoring and control of environmental conditions. However, in certain areas, the application of IoT in agriculture is still limited, and beginner growers often lack the necessary knowledge to optimize chili plant growth. This project aims to address these issues by developing an IoT-based smart monitoring system for chili plants. The objectives are to assist users in real-time monitoring of plant growth and provide guidance for optimal cultivation practices. The methodology involves the integration of sensors (temperature, humidity, and soil moisture) connected to an Arduino (NodeMCU esp8266) to collect data, which is then transmitted to ThingSpeak and Firebase databases for real-time monitoring via a mobile application. User testing was conducted to evaluate the system's effectiveness. Results indicated that the system significantly improved users' ability to monitor and manage chili plant growth. The educational content within the application was found to be highly beneficial, and the interactive game feature enhanced user engagement. In conclusion, the IoT-based system successfully assists growers in optimizing chili plant cultivation and has the potential to be expanded to other crops, contributing to smarter agricultural practices. © 2024 IEEE.

Digital Twin is an implementation of a physical object or system into a digital space for efficient monitoring and better scalability. It is a virtual representation which acts as a digital counterpart for Cyber Physical systems or processes in real-time and addresses every instance of its total life cycle. Nevertheless, it also has huge prospects even in the conventional and well-developed industries like agriculture, construction, medicine and automation. By large, it serves as a key example of how the Industry4.0 concept is revolutionizing the industries by facilitating vast numbers of opportunities and efficiencies in them. In this paper, we dig a deep dive into the various risks of cybersecurity associated with Cyber Physical systems, Digital Twin technology and explore the opportunities of twins protecting themselves. The use of blockchain technology in agriculture is changing the way we think about transparency, traceability, and security. Traditional chains often deal with issues like accountability, trust, and efficiency. Our solution eliminates all that by using the smart contracts and blockchain using Ethereum. With this, transactions are streamlined and secured from beginning to end. It also ensures records are tamper-resistant which can be stored securely on the blockchain. What sets us apart from others is our use of QR codes that make up the supply chain. Every transaction is captured through these codes and then organized within a decentralized file system. This level of transparency allows anyone involved to be able to track information while maintaining data integrity. The integration of QR codes with blockchain technology solves this issue by improving transparency, accountability, and security throughout the process of getting food from a farm onto your table. © 2024 IEEE.

Rhinosinusitis Mucus is mucus produced by mucus glands found in the nose in the paranasal sinus area which indicates inflammation. Segmentation of rhinosinusitis mucus is very difficult to do because of the many characteristics of different objects in the image of the paranasal Sinus CT-Scan in separating the mucus object with its background before the extraction process. The purpose of this study was to accurately identify and measure the mucus area of rhinosinusitis from CT-scan images of rhinosinusitis patients. The test data used in this study is secondary data from CT-Scan of paranasal sinus sagittal view in radiology RSUP M. Djamil Padang, Padang City, West Sumatra, Indonesia, using the Philips Ingenuity CT CT-Scan model type MRC880 numbered Tube series 163889. The segmentation process is carried out to obtain the optimal multi threshold value from each slice of the test image using the Improved Adaptive Multi Threshold (IAMT) segmentation method which produces a binary image to separate the mucus object with its background before the extraction process. Furthermore, the results of IAMT are applied to the identification and extraction model automatically to obtain the area of the rhinosinusitis mucus object. The extraction results were used for 2D to 3D image reconstruction in calculating the volume of rhinosinusitis mucus objects. The test results showed that the smallest area of rhinosinusitis mucus was 0.516 cm2 and the largest was 1.807 cm2, and the average volume was 0.95 cm3 with Accuracy is 96,5%. The identified areas and volumes indicate inflammation in the area of the paranasal sinuses and require treatment. Thus, this study can help doctors in making the right decision to take further medical action. © 2024 IEEE.
