Yet the Internet of Things continues to grow significantly. A cyber-physical system faces a variety of security challenges due to the network connections made by the various kinds of devices and large systems that make up national infrastructures like a smart grid. Here, For the forward flow and the feedback path of a control system, respectively, we suggest two fake data injection attacks. Both are made using a variable parameter that determines the degree of deterioration. On the forward path, a linear forward assault is created together with the least squares approach. The Kalman filter is constructed on the feedback route. According to the numerical analysis, the suggested assaults govern how much the performance of the control system declines. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Navigation services enable users to find the shortest path from a starting point S to a destination D, reducing time, gas, and traffic congestion. Still, navigation users risk the exposure of their sensitive location data. Our motivation arises from how users can accurately, securely, and efficiently navigate from S to Dwhile passing through k unordered stops, i.e., midway locations with a non-fixed visiting order. In this work, we formally define Semi-Constrained Navigation (SCN) and present a novel scheme Hermestoachieveaccurate,secure, andefficient SCN. Specifically, weproposeadivide-and-conquerapproachtostrikeagoodbalance betweenaccuracyandefficiency. It recursively depth-first-searches the whole area (a navigation tree) and invokes five carefully-crafted strategies stop-by-stop to compute three subpaths in three se quential subareas. We construct a path-distance oracle to encrypt the road graph and securely implement the strategies by using homomorphic encryption and garble circuits. We formally prove the security in the random oracle model and analyze the search complexity to be less than O(k2). We experiment over a real-world city map and compare with six baselines. Results show that path search with k = 4 among N = 1000 intersections requires 5.58 seconds with a 3.2% distance deviation rate and an 82.5% path similarity. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Neuroadaptive Containment Control for Nonlinear Multiagent systems With Input Saturation: An Event-Triggered Communication Approach

In this article, a neuroadaptive event-triggered containment control strategy combined with the dynamic surface control (DSC) approach is proposed for nonlinear multiagent systems (MASs) with input saturation. Based on the event-triggered communication mechanisms, the updates of neural network weight and controllers are implemented solely under triggering conditions of violation, which markedly reduces unnecessary communication resources and minimizes inefficient control costs compared with the traditional control method. Radial basis function neural networks (RBF NNs) are employed to handle the nonlinear uncertainties of MASs. Simultaneously, an adaptive compensatory mechanism is incorporated within the backstepping process to address the nonlinear effect posed by input saturation. Additionally, we demonstrate the system stability by extending the Lyapunov theorem to jump and continuous scenarios while excluding Zeno behavior, realizing that all followers can enter the convex hull constructed by leaders. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed methodology is verified through application simulations. © 2013 IEEE.

Data-driven output regulation control for constrained linear systems

This study introduces a data-driven approach for state and output feedback control addressing the constrained output regulation problem in unknown linear discrete-time systems. Our method ensures effective tracking performance while satisfying the state and input constraints, even when system matrices are not available. We first establish a sufficient condition necessary for the existence of a solution pair to the regulator equation and propose a data-based approach to obtain the feedforward and feedback control gains for state feedback control using linear programming. Furthermore, we design a refined Luenberger observer to accurately estimate the system state, while keeping the estimation error within a predefined set. By combining output regulation theory, we develop an output feedback control strategy. The stability of the closed-loop system is rigorously proved to be asymptotically stable by further leveraging the concept of λ-contractive sets.

Batch Microfabrication of Boron-Doped Diamond-Based Microsensor for Seconds Level Measurement of Dual Parameters of Chemical Oxygen Demand and Conductivity in Tap Water

With increasing concern about water safety, particularly the impact of tap water quality on human health, there is an urgent need for a biologically safe, multiparameter microsensor for rapid, online monitoring of tap water quality. This work reports on a batch fabricable miniature sensor based on microelectromechanical system (MEMS) technology for rapid detection of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and conductivity in tap water. The sensor is a silicon-glass structure comprising a boron-doped diamond (BDD) working electrode with biosafety properties. Three electrodes are integrated into the silicon wafer for the detection of COD, two of which can also be constructed as a conductivity sensing unit. Additionally, a microchamber is integrated into the glass. The excellent linearity (0.992 for COD and 0.996 for conductivity) and ideal detection range of the sensor (5–150 mgL-1 for COD and 98– 890 μS cm-1 for conductivity) are witnessed after a systematic performance investigation, and a satisfactory response time (2 s) was obtained by using a microchamber as the detection unit. As the sensors were prepared in a batch using the MEMS, the response of multiple sensors was verified through experimentation and found to be in good agreement. Furthermore, the impact of conductivity on the detection of COD was examined. In this article, a miniature ( 12 x 12 mm), low-cost, biologically safe dual-parameter sensor for COD and conductivity has been designed and prepared using the MEMS. It provides a core sensor component for online monitoring of multiple parameters in tap water. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

Considering the fact of increasing population and as a result, the number of patients is constantly increasing the delivery of medical services must be prompt and of good quality. There is no question that any perfect healthcare system should track the given activities, behaviours, schedules, and even general health of the patients. The focus of this study is in utilizing ML and DL in tracing patients and diagnosing ailments. Mounted cameras from different orientations and placements are intended for health monitoring and event surveillance for possible medical issues in the future. Classical ML and more advanced DL methods are applied for analyzing physiological and behavioral patterns to identify health conditions and stress the importance of high accuracy and real-time performance for practical purposes. Initial outcomes show that patient outcomes are enhanced by getting timely medical advice while decreasing hospital-based burdens on staff. Two challenging datasets, ETRI-Activity3D and NTU-RGB-D, are pre-processed to remove unimportant data and reduce computational load. A strong multi-feature description system can extract gradient values, and the process is followed by feature matching and feature optimization. Then, in the last Maximum Entropy Markov Model (MEMM) classifier is used, achieving an accuracy of 97.2% for ETRI-Activity3D, and 98.3% for the NTU-RGB-D dataset. ©2025 The authors.

With the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, smart cities possess the capability to advance their public transportation modalities, address prevalent trafﬁc congestion challenges, reﬁne infrastructure, and optimize communication frameworks, thereby augmenting their progression towards heightened urbanization. Through the integration of sensors, cell phones, artiﬁcial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and cloud computing, smart cities worldwide are evolving to be more efﬁcient, productive, and responsive to their residents’ needs. While the promise of smart cities has been marked over the past decade, notable challenges, especially in the realm of security, threaten their optimal realization. This research provides a comprehensive survey on IoT in smart cities. It focuses on the IoT-based smart city components. Moreover, it provides explanation for integrating different technologies with IoT for smart cities such as AI, sensing technologies, and networking technologies. Additionally, this study provides several case studies for smart cities. In addition, this study investigates the challenges of adopting IoT in smart cities and provides prevention methods for each challenge. Moreover, this study provides future directions for the upcoming researchers. Elderly individuals often face challenges in independent living due to age-related cognitive and physical decline. To address these issues, we propose an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) system, "ElderEase AR", designed to assist elderly users in their daily lives by leveraging a Multimodal Large Language Model (MLLM). This system enables elderly users to capture images of their surroundings and ask related questions, providing context-aware feedback. We evaluated the system’s perceived ease-of-use and feasibility through a pilot study involving 30 elderly users, aiming to enhance their independence and quality of life. Our system integrates advanced AR technology with an intelligent agent trained on multimodal datasets. Through prompt engineering, the agent is tailored to respond in a manner that aligns with the speaking style of elderly users. Experimental results demonstrate high accuracy in object recognition and question answering, with positive feedback from user trials. Specifically, the system accurately identified objects in various environments and provided relevant answers to user queries. This study highlights the powerful potential of AR and AI technologies in creating support tools for the elderly. It suggests directions for future improvements and applications, such as enhancing the system’s adaptability to different user needs and expanding its functionality to cover more aspects of daily living. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
