L2H-NeRF: low- to high-frequency-guided NeRF for 3D reconstruction with a few input scenes

Nowadays, three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction techniques are becoming increasingly important in the fields of architecture, game development, movie production, and more. Due to common issues in the reconstruction process, such as perspective distortion and occlusion, traditional 3D reconstruction methods face significant challenges in achieving high-precision results, even when dense data are used as inputs. With the advent of neural radiance field (NeRF) technology, high-fidelity 3D reconstruction results are now possible. However, high computational resources are usually required for NeRF computations. Recently, a few data inputs are used to ensure the highest quality. In this paper, we propose an innovative low- to high-frequency-guided NeRF (L2H-NeRF) framework that decomposes scene reconstruction into coarse and fine stages. For the first stage, a low-frequency enhancement network based on a vision transformer is proposed, where the low-frequency-based globally coherent geometric structure is recovered, with the dense depth restored in a depth completion way. In the second stage, a high-frequency enhancement network is incorporated, where the high-frequency-related detail is compensated by robust feature alignment across adjacent views using a plug-and-play feature extraction and matching module. Experiments demonstrate that both the accuracy of the geometric structure and the feature detail of the proposed L2H-NeRF outperforms state-of-the-art methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2025.

The development of digital payment technology, such as Gopay, has provided convenience for the Indonesian public. To understand user satisfaction and identify key issues, this study analyzes Gopay user reviews using a hybrid approach. The main issues addressed are the imbalance in review data and the lack of studies integrating Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models for topic analysis. This research encompasses three main stages: topic identification using LDA, data balancing with Random Over Sampling and Neighborhood Cleaning Rule (ROS-NCL), and topic classification using CNN. The model is designed to accurately identify and classify key topics. Furthermore, this method is compared with other approaches to assess its advantages. The research findings show that this hybrid approach is effective in addressing data imbalance, achieving a topic classification accuracy of 96%. These findings provide valuable insights for service providers to improve the quality of Gopay services based on topic analysis derived from user feedback. © 2025 IEEE.

The rapid deployment of millions of connected devices brings significant security challenges to the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT devices are typically resource-constrained and designed for specific tasks, from which new security challenges are introduced. As such, IoT device identification has garnered substantial attention and is regarded as an initial layer of cybersecurity. One of the major steps in distinguishing IoT devices involves leveraging machine learning (ML) techniques on device network flows known as device fingerprinting. Numerous studies have proposed various solutions that incorporate ML and feature selection (FS) algorithms with different degrees of accuracy. Yet, the domain needs a comparative analysis of the accuracy of different classifiers and FS algorithms to comprehend their true capabilities in various datasets. This article provides a comprehensive performance evaluation of several reputable classifiers being used in the literature. The study evaluates the efficacy of filter-and wrapper-based FS methods across various ML classifiers. Additionally, we implemented a Binary Green Wolf Optimizer (BGWO) and compared its performance with that of traditional ML classifiers to assess the potential of this binary meta-heuristic algorithm. To ensure the robustness of our findings, we evaluated the effectiveness of each classifier and FS method using two widely utilized datasets. Our experiments demonstrated that BGWO effectively reduced the feature set by 85.11% and 73.33% for datasets 1 and 2, respectively, while achieving classification accuracies of 98.51% and 99.8%, respectively. The findings of this study highlight the strong capabilities of BGWO in reducing both the feature dimensionality and accuracy gained through classification. Fuzzy clustering for electric field characterization and its application to thunderstorm interpretability

Changes in the Atmospheric Electric Field Signal(AEFS) are highly correlated with weather changes, especially with thunderstorm activities. However, little attention has been paid to the ambiguous weather information implicit in AEFS changes. In this paper, a Fuzzy C-Means(FCM) clustering method is used for the first time to develop an innovative approach to characterize the weather attributes carried by AEFS. First, a time series dataset is created in the time domain using AEFS attributes. The AEFS-based weather is evaluated according to the time-series Membership Degree(MD) changes obtained by inputting this dataset into the FCM. Second, thunderstorm intensities are reflected by the change in distance from a thunderstorm cloud point charge to an AEF apparatus. Thus, a matching relationship is established between the normalized distance and the thunderstorm dominant MD in the space domain. Finally, the rationality and reliability of the proposed method are verified by combining radar charts and expert experience. The results confirm that this method accurately characterizes the weather attributes and changes in the AEFS, and a negative distance-MD correlation is obtained for the first time. The detection of thunderstorm activity by AEF from the perspective of fuzzy set technology provides a meaningful guidance for interpretable thunderstorms.

Enhancing aviation safety: Machine learning for real-time ADS-B injection detection through advanced data analysis

Airplanes play a critical role in global transportation, ensuring the efficient movement of people and goods. Although generally safe, aviation systems occasionally encounter incidents and accidents that underscore the need for proactive risk management. This study employs machine learning to detect abnormalities in commercial aircraft operations using Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast (ADS-B) data. Given the growing reliance on ADS-B technology, concerns regarding its susceptibility to security breaches, such as injection attacks, have intensified. To address these vulnerabilities, we propose a robust ADS-B injection detection system. Employing GridSearchCV for model optimization, it effectively identifies and categorizes injection risks. The system's performance, evaluated using the ADS-B Message Injection Attacks Dataset, achieves outstanding results, including a value of 0.9970 for the accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. The proposed classifier also demonstrates a higher area under the curve (0.9999), specificity (0.9956), and Cohen's kappa (0.9954) than existing approaches, while achieving a lower log loss (0.0107). This research significantly enhances aviation security by introducing a highly accurate, computationally efficient, and reliable real-time detection model for ADS-B injection attacks, ensuring the integrity and resilience of modern flight control systems. © 2025 The Authors

Kidney disease (KD) is a gradually increasing global health concern. It is a chronic illness linked to higher rates of morbidity and mortality, a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and numerous other illnesses, and expensive medical expenses. The machine learning (ML) models are applied for KD prediction with higher accuracy and precision. The KD dataset has uncertainty and vague information, so, we used the neutrosophic set (NS) to deal with vague and uncertainty information in the KD dataset. The KD dataset is converted into the N-KD dataset with three membership functions: truth, indeterminacy, and falsity. Three ML models are used in this study such as logistic regression (LR), support vector machine (SVM), and k-nearest neighbor (KNN). These ML models are applied to the N-KD dataset. The results show the LR has higher accuracy and precision on the N-KD dataset than the original KD dataset. © 2025, University of New Mexico. All rights reserved.

This paper explores the adoption of cloud computing and big data technologies in small and medium enterprises (SMEs), focusing on synthesizing key factors influencing adoption. By conducting a comprehensive literature review and analyzing theoretical frameworks such as the technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework, this study proposes a novel conceptual model tailored to the unique socio-economic context of SMEs in the MENA region. The methodology includes an analysis of 30 research articles, highlighting enablers and barriers to adoption. Key contributions include a taxonomy of factors and actionable insights for policymakers and practitioners. This research addresses gaps in existing studies by providing a region-specific perspective on cloud computing and big data technologies adoption for SMEs. This strong tendency towards services provided by cloud computing is very clear, and to shape their future IT, it's worth highlighting the existence of such technology. A synthesis of the literature on cloud computing adoption was presented in this paper classifying reviews based on factors that play an important role in taking the adoption decision incorporating the theoretical frameworks. Moreover, the relationship between big data and cloud computing has been explored. In addition to proposing a synthesized findings model, this paper includes various factors derived from the literature and related theoretical frameworks. In this paper we select research articles from broadly recognized research databases, as well as undertaking a comprehensive review of these selected articles focusing on the adoption of cloud computing and big data. It also includes a bibliography containing the most relevant publications in these domains, from 2011 to 2024. Preservation of the crops depends on early and accurate detection of pests on crops as they cause several diseases decreasing crop production and quality. Several deep-learning techniques have been applied to overcome the issue of pest detection on crops. We have developed the YOLOCSP-PEST model for Pest localization and classification. With the Cross Stage Partial Network (CSPNET) backbone, the proposed model is a modified version of You Only Look Once Version 7 (YOLOv7) that is intended primarily for pest localization and classification. Our proposed model gives exceptionally good results under conditions that are very challenging for any other comparable models especially conditions where we have issues with the luminance and the orientation of the images. It helps farmers working out on their crops in distant areas to determine any infestation quickly and accurately on their crops which helps in the quality and quantity of the production yield. The model has been trained and tested on 2 datasets namely the IP102 data set and a local crop data set on both of which it has shown exceptional results. It gave us a mean average precision (mAP) of 88.40% along with a precision of 85.55% and a recall of 84.25% on the IP102 dataset meanwhile giving a mAP of 97.18% on the local data set along with a recall of 94.88% and a precision of 97.50%. These findings demonstrate that the proposed model is very effective in detecting real-life scenarios and can help in the production of crops improving the yield quality and quantity at the same time.

The utilization of Data-Driven Machine Learning (DDML) models in the healthcare sector poses unique challenges due to the crucial nature of clinical decision-making and its impact on patient outcomes. A primary concern in this domain is the data quality that forms the basis for these models, which is essential for their effectiveness. While numerous studies are dedicated to leveraging Machine Learning (ML) to enhance patient care, a substantial gap exists in understanding and evaluating the quality of training data before training ML models. This issue is exacerbated by the lack of well-defined standards to ensure that data characteristics align with the specific goals of ML in healthcare. To address this, our study introduces a conceptual three-dimensional framework focusing on data accuracy, completeness, and consistency aimed at assessing and improving the quality of training data. This framework is designed to enhance the performance, predictability, and interpretability of healthcare-specific ML models and reduce biases, thus bridging current research gaps and laying the groundwork for future developments in ML-driven healthcare systems. This paper presents the initial step for our proposed Data Quality Framework (DQF), which addresses the three dimensions mentioned above. It discusses its potential implications and applications in healthcare data, and its main goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of the proposed DQF, illustrating its significance in advancing healthcare data quality and ultimately improving patient outcomes. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.
