In the charity sector, fundraising and transparency have long been key issues. Charity NFT (Non-Fungible Token) auctions, an emerging charity fundraising model integrating blockchain and NFT concepts, bring opportunities and challenges. Blockchain provides distributed data integrity and transparency via cryptography-linked data blocks, while NFTs enable unique digital ownership representation. This study designs a charity NFT auction platform on the Fisco Bcos blockchain, using multi-signature algorithms to ensure NFT authenticity, ECDSA (Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm) signatures for transaction integrity and traceability, NFTs and virtual currencies to reduce costs, and IPFS (InterPlanetary File system) for storage. The implemented system achieves 2104 TPS throughput with 492-millisecond latency, increasing transaction processing with low latency. Overall, the platform aims to address charity issues like opaque fund flows, high costs, and fake initiatives through the strategic application of blockchain and NFT functionality. © 2013 IEEE.

Leveraging Journaling File system for Prompt Secure Deletion on Interlaced Recording Drives

With the growing awareness of secure computation, more and more users want to make their digital footprints securely deleted and irrecoverable after updating or removing files on storage devices. To achieve the effect of secure deletion, overwritten-based secure deletion techniques have been proposed to overwrite invalidated storage space with scrambled data content. Nevertheless, overwritten-based secure deletion requires explicit write requests for rewriting invalidated storage space with random data, thus incurring additional internal write traffic on storage devices. Recently, this inefficient aspect of secure deletion is exacerbated by the emergence of high-density interlaced magnetic recording (IMR) technology. IMR technology enhances the storage density of hard disk drives by interlacing narrower top tracks on wider bottom tracks. Owing to the interlaced track layout, securely erasing invalidated data on bottom tracks interferes with adjacent top tracks and track rewrites are required to preserve valid data on top tracks;thus, overwritten-based secure deletion on IMR drives significantly enlarges the internal write traffic and impairs the secure deletion efficiency. In this paper, instead of directly alleviating the constraint induced by the interlaced track layout, we propose leveraging the interlaced track layout of IMR drives in combination with the journaling data stream of journaling file systems to enable prompt secure data deletion while minimizing the write traffic of secure deletion operations. Experimental results suggest that the performance improvement achieve by the proposed prompt secure deletion (P-SD) strategy is 51.84% on average, when compared with the previous TrackLace approach on IMR drives. © 2013 IEEE.

An Improved K-means Clustering Algorithm Towards an Efficient Data-Driven Modeling

K-means algorithm is one of the well-known unsupervised machine learning algorithms. The algorithm typically finds out distinct non-overlapping clusters in which each point is assigned to a group. The minimum squared distance technique distributes each point to the nearest clusters or subgroups. One of the K-means algorithm’s main concerns is to find out the initial optimal centroids of clusters. It is the most challenging task to determine the optimum position of the initial clusters’ centroids at the very first iteration. This paper proposes an approach to find the optimal initial centroids efficiently to reduce the number of iterations and execution time. To analyze the effectiveness of our proposed method, we have utilized different real-world datasets to conduct experiments. We have first analyzed COVID-19 and patient datasets to show our proposed method’s efficiency. A synthetic dataset of 10M instances with 8 dimensions is also used to estimate the performance of the proposed algorithm. Experimental results show that our proposed method outperforms traditional kmeans++ and random centroids initialization methods regarding the computation time and the number of iterations. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2022.

Organ donation and transplantation have long been critical medical procedures, but they face numerous challenges, including scarcity, malpractices, and complex allocation processes. Also, they are vulnerable to the single point of failure problem due to centralization. Unlike existing blockchain solutions that only cover aspects like donor-recipient matching or medical record storage, our approach integrates hospitals into the system to ensure fair allocation of organs. The proposed organ donation decentralized app Organ Harbour utilizes Ethereum blockchain-based solution to automate this process in decentralized way, also it ensures transparency, privacy, security, and trustworthiness. This ensures secure and transparent registration of donor-patient information, including medical IDs, blood types, and organ details. Organ Harbour streamlines the process, eliminating third-party involvement and reducing transplantation costs. Moreover, by leveraging blockchain's immutability and smart contract capabilities, the system enhances data integrity and prediction accuracy. Overall, this research presents an approach to organ donation and transplantation, fostering security, transparency, and an efficient healthcare ecosystem. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

In this study aimed to measure the level of similarity between two logos, both those that look different and those that look the same. This can be realized by forming a logo image database that is stored in a logo image database derived from various existing logo image data. This research uses 4 logo images as data testing and 210 image data for the database as data training. All of the logo images used come from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkumham RI) West Sumatra Regional Office. The size images are color images with a pixel size of 320 x 320 pixels, the purpose of which is for the process of dimensional uniformity of the images to be studied. This research uses Content Base Image Retrieval (CBIR) method to search for images from a large image database than using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) type Residual Network (ResNet-18) Architecture to get the similarity score accurately. The result of this implementation is the formation of an automatic distribution of training images and validation images with 147 training image data values (70%) and 63 validation images (30%) of the 210 existing images. The result of this research is producing the algorithm to implement the method and the tool software application to measure the similarity of logo images. The accuracy of this tool is 93.65% with a total of 84 iterations. © 2023 IEEE.

Brain tumors, characterized by abnormal cell growth within the brain, present significant challenges for early detection and accurate classification due to their complex and heterogeneous nature. Manual evaluation of MRI scans, though critical, is often laborintensive and prone to errors, highlighting the need for advanced, automated diagnostic methods. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have demonstrated strong potential in this domain by effectively learning hierarchical features from raw medical images to detect and classify brain tumors. However, single CNN models often encounter difficulties in handling the variability in tumor appearance, such as differences in shape, size, and intensity. To address these challenges, this research proposes an ensemble model that integrates pretrained CNN architectures-ResNet50, Inception, and Xception. The ensemble technique strengthens the adaptability and accuracy of brain tumor identification and categorization by incorporating the advantages of these distinct models. The proposed model was trained and evaluated using a large dataset of 5,316 MRI images, representing a range of brain tumor types, including gliomas, pituitary, meningiomas, and cases no tumor. With a high classification accuracy of 99.39%, our ensemble model proved to be useful in enhancing the reliability of diagnoses and assisting surgeons in making decisions on the treatment of brain tumors. © 2024 IEEE.
