Nodule Detection Using Local Binary Pattern Features to Enhance Diagnostic Decisions

Pulmonary nodules are small, round, or oval-shaped growths on the lungs. They can be benign (noncancerous) or malignant (cancerous). The size of a nodule can range from a few millimeters to a few centimeters in diameter. Nodules may be found during a chest X-ray or other imaging test for an unrelated health problem. In the proposed methodology pulmonary nodules can be classified into three stages. Firstly, a 2D histogram thresholding technique is used to identify volume segmentation. An ant colony optimization algorithm is used to determine the optimal threshold value. Secondly, geometrical features such as lines, arcs, extended arcs, and ellipses are used to detect oval shapes. Thirdly, Histogram Oriented Surface Normal Vector (HOSNV) feature descriptors can be used to identify nodules of different sizes and shapes by using a scaled and rotation-invariant texture description. Smart nodule classification was performed with the XGBoost classifier. The results are tested and validated using the Lung Image Consortium Database (LICD). The proposed method has a sensitivity of 98.49% for nodules sized 3–30 mm.

Fuzzy logic is a commonly used method to build a system whose reasoning resembles human intuition or reasoning. Tsukamoto fuzzy logic and certainty factor are two methods which have in common that contain uncertainty. Today, the well known process of childbirth is normal childbirth and cesarean where the choice of this is dubious. Inappropriate choice of delivery will endanger the safety of both mother and baby. This study was conducted to determine the type of cesarean or normal delivery with the development of Tsukamoto fuzzy logic with certainty factor to prevent the problem of doubt about the choice of delivery. This study uses age, blood pressure, pelvic size, fetal weight, breech presentation, and cesarean history as input. The research output is a type of normal or cesarean delivery. The test was conducted on 30 people who had given birth whose medical records were processed using a web application. The results obtained are the type of delivery that was tested using those 30 medical record data which had 100% similarity results with the development of Tsukamoto fuzzy. © 2020 IEEE.

All of the leaves are attacked by many diseases and insects in their life. The leaf symptom are transform different colors when the face of disease attack This paper uses the image processing techniques to detect transform of color on the leaf and classify the disease based on the color values. This paper uses region base segmentation based on RGB color value. Paddy leaf is segmented on color feature value and classify these color values to support decisions for disease type. Image enhancement process start to eliminate noise in an image and next is object extraction. The system uses median filter technique and segment the object in color regions. Analysis of color region value and the texture of leaf classified the damage rate and diseases. © 2019 IEEE.

Cloud computing has come out to be an interesting and beneficial way of changing the whole computing world. In this paper, we deal with the various methodologies adopted to handle all the processes and jobs concurrently executing and waiting into the web application and web server housed into the same system or different systems. Also, these different methods will be compared taking into account the same number of jobs, but varied environmental conditions and hence, the result would be formulated. Various issues like virtual resources, queuing strategies, resource managers etc. has been discussed here apart from the main coverage points. We elaborate on the intimate connection between the largest volume of an empty axis-parallel box in a set of n points from [0, 1]d and cover-free families from the extremal set theory. This connection was discovered in a recent paper of the authors. In this work, we apply a very recent result of Michel and Scott to obtain a whole range of new lower bounds on the number of points needed so that the largest volume of such a box is bounded by a given Ε. Surprisingly, it turns out that for each of the new bounds, there is a choice of the parameters d and Ε such that the bound outperforms the others. © 2025, CC BY.

This research was conducted to make it easier for people to enjoy kawa leaves drinks automatically, without using human intervention in the manufacturing process. Currently, making kawa leaves drinks still uses the manual method, namely by boiling dried and roasted coffee leaves, the dosing of each component, and the use of hot water for this drink are still different depending on the maker. Therefore we need a system that can facilitate the community in making this kawa leaves drink, namely by measuring the drink's components using a weight sensor. For hot water in the manufacture of this drink, hot water with a temperature of 80-90 degrees C is used, which will be measured using the DS18b20 temperature sensor. This tool is designed using Arduino Mega 2560, Weight sensor, DS18b20 temperature sensor, servo motor, DC motor, HX711 module, relay, mini water pump, keypad, and LCD. © 2021 IEEE.

The data warehouse is based on the development of relational databases, parallel processing and distributed processing technologies, as well as online analytical processing technologies. SAP BW is widely used in many enterprise data warehouses. It can issue reports of enterprises at the group level, manage the group's business operations, help find the laws and trends behind the performance of corporations and ultimately provide decision-making support for decision makers of enterprises. Therefore, how to use the SAP BW model architecture to better realize enterprise data warehouses is one of the hot topics in the data warehouse industry today. For a large corporation, its branches and subsidiaries have deployed multiple sets of enterprise data warehouses. At the same time, because there are multiple sets of data warehouse systems, when the data model needs to be modified at the group level, the data model of the branch also needs to be modified accordingly, and the flexibility of maintenance is poor. Finally, every time the corporation needs to upgrade the version of the data warehouse, it needs to maintain and upgrade the version of the data warehouse of each branch and the maintenance cost is high. Therefore, how to integrate multiple sets of data warehouses distributed in various subsidiaries into a corporation enterprise data warehouse by designing the model hierarchy, so as to ensure the reliability of data, enhance the flexibility of model modification and reduce the cost of data warehouse. This paper completes the design of an enterprise data warehouse of a large corporation, which can be used for the summary and collation of data from multiple branches such as finance and sales of a corporation, effectively improving the efficiency of data utilization and ensuring the authenticity of data. At the same time, through hierarchical design, the problems of poor flexibility in model modification and high system maintenance costs are solved. © 2023 IEEE.

Cyber-attacks involve stifling processes and activities, conciliating data, or restricting data access by carefully modifying computer systems and networks with malware. There has been a significant increase in these types of attacks over time. Due to the rise in complexity and structure, advanced defensive methods are needed. In the face of growing security threats, traditional methods of identifying cyber-attacks are ineffective. In this paper, the intelligent of intrusion a detection system is suggested. Moreover, the suggested system attempts to evaluate the capability of the k-nearest neighbour's algorithm (KNN) in terms of distinguishing between authentic and tampered data. A reliable dataset named the Multi-Step Cyber-Attack Dataset (MSCAD) is utilized to determine the behavior Among the new sorts of attacks. Moreover, 60% of the dataset was utilized for training the model, and a remaining 40% was used for testing. Evaluation metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score are used. Experiments suggest that the proposed system-based KNN could enhance detection performance. Moreover, the suggested approach increases detection accuracy while minimizing false alarms. © 2023 IEEE.

The integration of renewable energy sources within the Baltic energy system, which includes Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, presents both challenges and opportunities. As the Baltic countries strive to increase the share of renewable energy to 42.5% by 2030, driven by the EU's 'Fit for 55' package, they must address the inherent variability of renewable sources like wind and solar, which can complicate grid *** to synchronize the Baltic energy system with the ENTSO-E (European Network of Transmission system Operators for Electricity) further emphasize the need for a resilient grid. A simplified model of the Baltic energy system is used to explore four scenarios-Optimistic, Realistic+, Realistic-, and Pessimistic-focusing on electrical connections in base load, export, and import modes. The analysis highlights the critical role of BESS systems (Battery Energy Storage systems) in stabilizing the grid and managing power deficits. Despite ongoing development of interregional transmission lines and BESS installations, enhancing energy storage and diversifying energy sources remain crucial for ensuring a stable and sustainable energy *** investments in alternative energy sources, such as small hydropower or nuclear energy, alongside advanced storage solutions, are essential to support the region's ambitious renewable energy goals. By boosting energy system resilience and reducing dependence on variable renewable sources, the Baltic region can secure a reliable and environmentally friendly energy supply, significantly contributing to global efforts to combat climate change. © 2024 IEEE.

Eczema disease diagnosis and treatment are frequently challenging procedures. Recent development in artificial intelligence (AI) or digital healthcare technology have improved the self-management of severe chronic diseases. for example, skin conditions, insulin, pressure, etc. Numerous research has validated its effectiveness. Additionally, studies have also shown that greater knowledge about any illness enables people to properly control their chronic health conditions, which in turn lowers the problems brought on by disorders such as diabetes, eczema, and hypertension. In this research, a novel dermatitis illness monitoring and treatment system is presented for Saudi Arabian patients. The technology being shown uses AI in conjunction with smart healthcare technology. Employing digital healthcare technologies and AI, it also hopes to arm eczema patients with numerous features about the condition. Comprehensive testing and evaluation of the method that this research proposes will take place in a randomized scientific experiment in Saudi Arabic. © 2023 IEEE.
