A well-known advanced driver assistance technology that can be employed for that is the Adaptive Cruise control System (ACC). Cars equipped with ACC system are to control the car speed to follow a driver's set speed closely when there is no leading car. When a slower leading car is present based on distance sensor, the ACC controlled car are able to keep desired distance with respect to the position and velocity of the car in front. This paper presents a design methodology of Adaptive Cruise control (ACC) system for two smart car platform consist of the leading smart car and a host smart car move on a single lane on a laboratory installation. RST algorithm in the multi algorithms structure is proposed to design in real-time architecture for ACC system. RST algorithm is one of the most effective solutions for the real-time control of nonlinear systems or working regimes. The results of the experiment have been conducted to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2023 IEEE.

To improve the obstacle avoidance capability of agents and ensure reliable communication during the path following of heterogeneous marine unmanned systems, a dynamic safety area and communication distance constraint based path planning algorithm is proposed in this paper where the communication distance constraint is considered. Firstly, the dynamic safety area is constructed based on the relative velocity between agents and the dynamic obstacles to realize obstacle avoidance. Secondly, the reachable area of agents is determined according to the communication distance constraint such that the heterogeneous marine unmanned system maintains a high quality of communication during the path following. Finally, the communication constraint center switching algorithm is proposed to meet the communication distance constraint in different sea scenes. Numerical simulations are performed to show that the proposed path planning algorithm achieves strong communication connectivity during the path following of the agents in the heterogeneous marine unmanned system. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

This study considers automatic scallop harvesting using the drone with the robot arm as the new scallop fishery. The fishery needs the dedicated gripper attaching the robot arm. This study judges the adsorption gripper as the dedicated gripper. The adsorption gripper must push itself to the object during gripping motion. If the pushing force is too large, there are some problems with the grasping. This study focuses on the flexibility of the gripper tip contacting object to solve those problems. Then, we investigate the applicability considering on the relationship between shape and flexibility of the adsorption gripper tip from the experiment. From these considerations, the dedicated gripper has been developed. © 2022 IEEE.

Properly created and securely communicated,non-disclosure agreement(NDA)can resolve most of the common disputes related to outsourcing of offshore software maintenance(OSMO).Occasionally,these NDAs are in the form of *** the work is done offshore,these agreements or images must be shared through the Internet or stored over the *** breach of privacy,on the other hand,is a potential threat for the image owners as both the Internet and cloud servers are not void of *** article proposes a novel algorithm for securing the NDAs in the form of *** an agreement is signed between the two parties,it will be encrypted before sending to the cloud server or travelling through the public network,the *** the image is input to the algorithm,its pixels would be scrambled through the set of randomly generated rectangles for an arbitrary amount of *** confusion effects have been realized through an XOR operation between the confused image,and chaotic ***,5D multi-wing hyperchaotic system has been employed to spawn the chaotic vectors due to good properties of chaoticity it *** machine experimentation and the security analysis through a comprehensive set of validation metric vividly demonstrate the robustness,defiance to the multifarious threats and the prospects for some real-world application of the proposed encryption algorithm for the NDA images.

Research into the engineering of infrastructure systems is increasingly data intensive. Researchers build computational models to explore scenarios such as investigating the merits of infrastructure plans, analysing historical data to inform system operations or assessing the impacts of infrastructure on the environment. Models are more complex, at higher resolution and with larger coverage. Researchers also require a 'multi-systems' approach to explore interactions between systems, such as energy and water with urban development, and across scales, from buildings and streets to regions or nations. Consequently, researchers need enhanced computational resources to support cross-institutional collaboration and sharing at scale. The Data and Analytics Facility for National Infrastructure (DAFNI) is an emerging computational platform for infrastructure systems research. It provides high-throughput compute resources so larger data sets can be used, with a data repository to upload data and share these with collaborators. Users' models can also be uploaded and executed using modern containerisation techniques, giving platform independence, scaling and sharing. Further, models can be combined into workflows, supporting multi-systems modelling and generating visualisations to present results. DAFNI forms a central resource accessible to all infrastructure systems researchers in the UK, supporting collaboration and providing a legacy, keeping data and models available beyond the lifetime of a project. © 2023 Emerald Publishing Limited: All rights reserved.

The videoscope (VS) images have poor quality and low contrast. Hence, in this paper, three proposed frameworks to improve the quality of VS images are presented. The first framework depends on contrast-limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE) with adaptive gamma correction. The second framework depends on homomorphic processing. The third framework is based on the homomorphic enhancement with histogram equalization. The first one is superior from the entropy perspective, while the third one is superior from the contrast perspective. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

Abstract: In recent years, ZnO nanostructure thin films have been used extensively by researchers in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) application due to its unique photovoltaic properties. The effects of the concentrations of Ni metal dopants on ZnO thin film DSSCs were investigated. ZnO–Ni nanocomposites were synthesized via sol-gel method. In this paper, the structural, morphological, and chemical properties of ZnO–Ni nanocomposite thin films were reported. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microcopy (AFM) and mapping analyses have found out that the crystallite and grain sizes of ZnO-Ni is increasing when Ni percentage is increased. The optical study from UV-Vis spectroscopy indicates that the band gap energy for ZnO–Ni photoanodes is in the range 3.5–3.7 eV. Energy dispersion X-ray (EDX) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) have identified the elements and chemical bonding that are related to ZnO and Ni. The photovoltaic performances were analyzed using photocurrent-voltage (J–V) measurement and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). As the result, ZnO–Ni photoanode based DSSC with 60% of Ni concentration shows the highest power conversion efficiency (0.421%) with Jsc, Voc and FF of 1 mA/cm2, 0.95 V and 0.443. © Allerton Press, Inc. 2024. The vibrations generated by rock blasting are a serious and hazardous outcome of these activities,causing harmful effects on the surrounding environment as well as the nearby *** the local ecology and human communities suffer from the consequences of these *** the severity of blasting vibrations necessitates a thorough evaluation of Peak Particle Velocity(PPV)and frequency,which are essential parameters for measuring vibration *** prediction of vibration occurrence is critically ***,this study employs five machine learning models for predicting the PPV and frequency resulting from quarry *** work compares five machine learning models(XGBoost,Catboost,Bagging,Gradient Boosting,and Random Forest Regression)to choose the most efficient performance *** performance evaluation of each five machine learning models demonstrates each model achieved a performance of more than 0.90 during the testing phase,there was a strong correlation observed between the actual and the predicted *** analysis of performance metrics shows Catboost regression model demonstrate better performance prediction comparing with the other models with R^(2)=0.983,MSE=0.000078,RMSE=0.008,NRMSE=0.019,MAD=0.004,MAPE=35.197 in the PPV prediction,and R^(2)=0.975,MSE=0.000243,RMSE=0.015,NRMSE=0.031,MAD=0.008,MAPE=37.281 for the frequency *** study will help mining engineers and blasting experts to select the best machine learning model and its hyperparameters in estimating ground vibration,and *** the context of the mining and civil industry,the application of this study offers significant potential for enhancing safety protocols and optimizing operational *** employing machine learning models,this research aims to accurately predict and assess ground vibrations with frequency resulting from rock blasting.

In terms of security and privacy,mobile ad-hoc network(MANET)continues to be in demand for additional debate and *** more MANET applications become data-oriented,implementing a secure and reliable data transfer protocol becomes a major concern in the ***,MANET’s lack of infrastructure,unpredictable topology,and restricted resources,as well as the lack of a previously permitted trust relationship among connected nodes,contribute to the attack detection burden.A novel detection approach is presented in this paper to classify passive and active black-hole *** proposed approach is based on the dipper throated optimization(DTO)algorithm,which presents a plausible path out of multiple paths for statistics transmission to boost MANETs’quality of service.A group of selected packet features will then be weighed by the DTO-based multi-layer perceptron(DTO-MLP),and these features are collected from nodes using the Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchical(LEACH)clustering *** is a powerful classifier and the DTO weight optimization method has a significant impact on improving the classification process by strengthening the weights of key features while suppressing the weights ofminor *** hybridmethod is primarily designed to combat active black-hole *** the LEACH clustering phase,however,can also detect passive black-hole *** effect of mobility variation on detection error and routing overhead is explored and evaluated using the suggested *** diverse mobility situations,the results demonstrate up to 97%detection accuracy and faster execution ***,the suggested approach uses an adjustable threshold value to make a correct conclusion regarding whether a node is malicious or benign.
