Intelligent logistics with autonomous vehicles is promising to improve the efficiency of rapidly expanding delivery systems. However, complex environments, diverse packages, and irregular human interaction have imposed challenges to the application of unmanned delivery vehicles. Combining various forms of vehicles and developing knowledge-driven delivery services have been the key to further facilitating the upgrading of logistics systems. In this paper, we propose an integrated framework named LogisticsVISTA (Logistics on Vehicles with Intelligent systems for Transport Automation) comprised of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), UGVs (Unmanned Ground Vehicles), and USVs (Unmanned Surface Vehicles) to provide timely and flexible 3D delivery services. In LogisticsVISTA, we design Large language models (LLMs) and large multimodal models (LMMs) for task planning, active perception, autonomous decision, and human-machine interaction. Besides, virtual-real integrated parallel scenarios are constructed to provide the playing ground for embodied agents efficiently and flexibly.

Due to the structure of cancer cells, where the majority of the cells are overlapped with each other, early diagnosis of lung cancer is a difficult challenge, so the cause of lung cancer remains unknown and prevention is difficult, early discovery of lung cancer is the only approach to cure it. The classification of lung cancer is a crucial process, based on signs that appear on patients;cancers could easily be predicted and treated. This paper uses KNN, SVM, Naïve Bayes and narrow neural network (NNN) classifiers. KNN showed 85.87% accuracy. SVM, Naïve Bayes and NNN showed 92.6%, 90.3% and 90% accuracy respectively. Results came after the fact that among the four classifiers SVM was the most accurate and much better to classify our data. © 2022 IEEE.

During the COVID19 epidemic, people of all ages from all walks of life around the world have become inevitably familiar with and almost dependent on the digital tools of the age and the opportunities they offer. A change had to take place very quickly that was unprecedented. This process has also affected education. During the time of the reading lock-in, there was a proliferation of digital curricular content. The second time around, online education came to the fore, thanks to less or well-functioning online platforms, and has since become part of everyday teaching. What is the effectiveness and usefulness of sharing knowledge in this way? Is literacy still needed at all? Can online and hybrid (a controlled mix of face-to-face and online) education replace the well-established contact and face-to-face education? The study show that the respondents believe that online education has had an impact on literacy and that it is perceived to have a positive impact. The results indicate that online education has a positive impact on the literacy levels of students, as it facilitates knowledge acquisition and enhances digital literacy skills.

In the last three years, a new partner has emerged for teachers and educators in the field of education. The mushrooming of applications based on large language models has greatly shaped the educational development fields of the present era. The use of various AI applications has become commonplace among students and teachers alike. Many questions are being raised by researchers in this field. What does the rapid development of AI applications bring to the field of pedagogy? Should the products of such applications be compared with human performance? The form presented in this thesis seeks to answer similar questions. What is the impact of frequent use of these applications on the literacy level of individuals? In which areas do students tend to use these applications? The results indicate that half of the students believe their literacy levels will decrease with the mass emergence of AI applications, while 36% feel it will not change. However, 88 % of students have already dealt with AI-based applications, with 64 % using them several times or more, suggesting a high level of integration into their educational processes.

We apply Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD) to Elementary Cellular Automata (ECA). Three types of DMD methods are considered and the reproducibility of the system dynamics and Koopman eigenvalues from observed time series are investigated. While standard DMD fails to reproduce the system dynamics and Koopman eigenvalues associated with a given periodic orbit in some cases, Hankel DMD with delay-embedded time series improves reproducibility. However, Hankel DMD can still fail to reproduce all the Koopman eigenvalues in specific cases. We propose an Extended DMD method for ECA that uses nonlinearly transformed time series with discretized Walsh functions and show that it can completely reproduce the dynamics and Koopman eigenvalues. Linear-algebraic backgrounds for the reproducibility of the system dynamics and Koopman eigenvalues are also discussed. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The microstructural evolution of CuPb2F6 during defluorination was investigated by phase-field simulation while considering the nucleation of Cu. The phase-field simulation performed with a fixed composition was combined with the F-reduction operation while maintaining the microstructure. The calculated microstructure shows the nucleation of Cu from the solid-solution phase (referred to as the FCC-int phase) with two sublattices of (Cu, Pb)-(F, vacancy). An experimental grain size of ~100 nm was reproduced by increasing the number of nucleation sites. The calculated microstructural evolution tendencies at different discharge rates were consistent with the experimental results at different currents. In addition, the Cu grain size decreased with an increasing discharge rate, number of nucleation sites, and diffusion coefficient of F in the FCC-int phase. Our calculations suggest that the Cu grain size is controlled by the concentration gradient of the FCC-int phase. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

As the adoption for electric vehicles (EV) increases, the need for proper charging infrastructure also increases. As such, it is necessary to ensure proper charging infrastructure to meet the charging demand. Hence, studies concerning the planning of EV charging stations which include the sizing of distributed energy resources (DERs) in the station to reduce the peak demand on the grid. In this paper, EV charging stations were designed keeping in mind factors such as the EV charging load profile (on demand charging versus deferred charging), uncertainties in the load profile as well as the tariff rates. A sensitivity analysis was also carried out in order to examine the impact of several techno-economic parameters on the overall cost of the system.

This paper proposes a distributed prescribed-time observer for nonlinear systems representable in a block-triangular observable canonical form. Using a weighted average of neighbor estimates exchanged over a strongly connected digraph, each observer estimates the system state despite the limited observability of local sensor measurements. The proposed design guarantees that distributed state estimation errors converge to zero at a user-specified convergence time, irrespective of observers’ initial conditions. To achieve this prescribed-time convergence, distributed observers implement time-varying local output injection gains that monotonically increase and approach infinity at the prescribed time. The theoretical convergence is rigorously proven and validated through numerical simulations, where some implementation issues due to increasing gains have also been clarified. In this paper a motion profile design for unmanned aerial vehicles is proposed which method is able to guarantee safe collision-free motion. The motivations of the work are provided by the uncertainties of covered areas by the vehicles, and also the need of high performance fast vehicle motion. The uncertain information on the environment for detecting Conflict areas is processed through clustering and Mahalanobis-distance-based filtering methods. The resulted Conflict areas are involved in the motion design method, which is facilitated through reinforcement learning. This paper shows the application of the method on a drone that moves together with a mobile robot in the same environment. The safe and high performance motion of the drone is illustrated through simulation example.
