This study investigates the impact of unexpected stimuli on participants’ stress levels during human-robot interactions (HRI). We designed an experiment, where a cobot performs writing tasks, as well as some unexpected actions, intended to surprise the human observer. During this experiment, we are continuously monitoring physiological responses through Electrodermal Activity (EDA) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) sensors. Our goal was to capture the relationship between surprising actions by the cobot and indicators of change in the human stress levels. We employed time series classification techniques, namely ROCKET, Shapelet Transform and WEASEL, along with Support Vector Machine (SVM) analysis on temporal segments. This approach enabled us to develop a binary classification model on stress levels. Our research contributes to the design of AI systems that can detect changes in the stress levels of humans who interact with cobots that perform unexpected actions. Thus, we work towards the improvement of safety protocols in HRI. © 2024 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Air quality forecasting is critical for environmental monitoring and public health, and in this study, we propose a hybrid approach utilizing Gooseneck Barnacle Optimization (GBO) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) to enhance predictive accuracy. The air quality dataset, comprising pollutant concentrations (CO, NOx, benzene) and meteorological factors (temperature, humidity), is sourced from the UCI Machine Learning Repository. GBO is employed to fine-tune the ANN's hyperparameters (especially the weight and bias), as well as the number of layers, neurons, and activation functions, to improve regression-based forecasting. The GBOANN model achieves a Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 0.562 and a Root Mean Squared Percentage Error (RMSPE) of 5.63%, outperforming other metaheuristic methods like BMO, SSA, DA, MVO, and EMA. This study demonstrates the GBO-ANN model's potential for accurate real-time air quality forecasting, offering a robust, sustainable solution. © 2025 IEEE.

The Internet of things (IoT) is getting more and more intrusive into our lives until the day comes when everything becomes connected to the Internet. Due to the limited resources and heterogeneous Internet of Things (IoT) devices, the traditional means of protection are useless and cannot be used to protect these devices. The most important security risks, their causes and the consequences of their occurrence have been listed, scheduled and categorized. The study concluded that there are real security risks that cannot be ignored, and they need to find innovative solutions to eliminate them or reduce their damage to a minimum. This paper showed the main risks addressed in previews research, and outlined the gaps in this field of technology, also producing a brief summary information about the most important solution to avoid many threats against the IoT field. © 2023 IEEE.

This comprehensive review starts with diving into the progress and real-world applications of combining multi-omics data analysis with machine learning techniques in cancer research. Multi-omics involves examining various biological data types like genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics together to enhance our understanding of complex biological systems. By merging machine learning with multiomics data, we highlight the advantages for cancer studies, the deeper insights they yield and increased performance and results. Furthermore, we explore existing literature that showcases the integration of multi-omics and machine learning in cancer research. As part of our study, we conduct an experiment utilizing a multiomics dataset to predict the survival of breast cancer patients. We compare three distinct machine learning methods-ensemble, DeepProg, and DCAP-for survival prediction and conclude that despite the ensemble method that increased the prediction results of DeepProg over DCAP in multi-model setting, but the primitive capacity for DCAP is better in single model setting and achieves higher accuracy than DeepProg with noticeable margin 0.628 to 0.57 on C-Index metric, which strongly recommends using Denoising Autoencoder as the base for dimensionality reduction over the vanilla Autoencoder. Another empirical results conclude that using gaussian mixture model with diagonal covariance matrix for Clustering, which is used in DeepProg, might hinder the process for identifying reasonable clusters due to the assumption of no or zero correlation between different features which might not hold true in our problem. © 2023 IEEE.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a slowly progressing, irreversible brain condition that weakens memory and negatively affects the patient's quality of life. Alzheimer's disease (AD) can be identified using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data. For an early diagnosis of the disease, various medical and diagnostic approaches are being investigated. Even while MRI is a useful tool for locating AD-related brain symptoms, the acquisition process is time-consuming, largely because workflow bottlenecks must be manually evaluated. In order to find the best effective method for detecting the disease, this research examines the basic technique for analyzing MRI images. To carry out our study to slow progression of the disease by the use of Alzheimer's disease (AD) prognosis, a dataset from The Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) will be imported and fitted. The outcomes highlight the tremendous potential of integrating imaging data for automated categorization of Alzheimer's disease (AD) using multidisciplinary AI techniques. With a deep three-dimensional convolutional network (3D CNN) being used to handle the three-dimensional MRI input and a Transformer encoder being applied to manage the genetic sequence input, the suggested solution merges machine learning, bioinformatics, and other image processing techniques. After various experiments by checking the results accuracy, it is stated that the CNN model is never enough to provide us with the desired accuracy either by training on both skull stripped data or the GM tissue segmented data. Although, it is relatively better at the skull stripped dataset training, but the results accuracy and predicted classes show that inferring some classifiers after extracting the features from the CNN would increase the accuracy and results. In recent years,wearable devices-based Human Activity Recognition(HAR)models have received significant *** developed HAR models use hand-crafted features to recognize human activities,leading to the extraction of basic *** images captured by wearable sensors contain advanced features,allowing them to be analyzed by deep learning algorithms to enhance the detection and recognition of human *** lighting and limited sensor capabilities can impact data quality,making the recognition of human actions a challenging *** unimodal-based HAR approaches are not suitable in a real-time ***,an updated HAR model is developed using multiple types of data and an advanced deep-learning ***,the required signals and sensor data are accumulated from the standard *** these signals,the wave features are *** the extracted wave features and sensor data are given as the input to recognize the human *** Adaptive Hybrid Deep Attentive Network(AHDAN)is developed by incorporating a“1D Convolutional Neural Network(1DCNN)”with a“Gated Recurrent Unit(GRU)”for the human activity recognition ***,the Enhanced Archerfish Hunting Optimizer(EAHO)is suggested to fine-tune the network parameters for enhancing the recognition *** experimental evaluation is performed on various deep learning networks and heuristic algorithms to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed HAR *** EAHO-based HAR model outperforms traditional deep learning networks with an accuracy of 95.36,95.25 for recall,95.48 for specificity,and 95.47 for precision,*** result proved that the developed model is effective in recognizing human action by taking less ***,it reduces the computation complexity and overfitting issue through using an optimization approach.

Determining the critical factors affecting antenatal visits will greatly contribute to reducing maternal and infant mortality. This study, thus attempted to construct a cluster-based predictive model to determine the critical factors of antenatal care follow-up among women in Ethiopia using two-step machine learning techniques. The 5,990 preprocessed obstetric dataset with 13 selected attributes were used that was collected from the Dabat Research Center at the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. To solve the study problem, six cluster models were developed using K-means, Expectation Maximization and Make Density clustering algorithms, which are well-suited for analyzing health datasets, providing scalability, flexibility, robustness to noise, and the ability to handle uneven cluster sizes. K-means out-formers Density based and Expectation Maximization clustering algorithms with minimum number of sum of square errors (17094) and number of iteration (3). Then, output of the K-means cluster model was used as input to segment the dataset and build a total of 21 predictive models using the tree-based J48 classifier, PART and JRip rule generators while adjusting their parameters. The model for predicting antenatal care follow-up is constructed by induction of the truncated PART rule (accuracy of 99.93%) and extracts attributes of interest such as antenatal care attendance, antenatal care location, antenatal care frequency, current vaccination, woman's age, and HIV testing to predict antenatal care follow-up in the study area. © 2024 IEEE.

In solving the problem of automated analysis of football match video recordings, special video cameras are currently used. This work presents a comparative characterization of known algorithms and methods for video camera calibration, including those utilizing machine learning and neural networks, with the aim of identifying their shortcomings and forming a theoretical foundation for developing modern, more effective methods and algorithms. Specifically, it examines both algorithms that require more input data but operate quickly [1, 2] and more accurate algorithms using machine learning [3, 4, 5, 6, 5]. It is demonstrated that their main drawback is either accuracy or speed. More accurate algorithms using machine learning often do not specify the algorithm's operational speed, which precludes their use in real-time applications. The examined works that emphasize speed frequently lack the accuracy necessary for practical use in real-life scenarios. Copyright © 2024 for this paper by its authors.

Disinformation,often known as fake news,is a major issue that has received a lot of attention *** researchers have proposed effective means of detecting and addressing *** machine and deep learning based methodologies for classification/detection of fake news are content-based,network(propagation)based,or multimodal methods that combine both textual and visual *** introduce here a framework,called FNACSPM,based on sequential pattern mining(SPM),for fake news analysis and *** this framework,six publicly available datasets,containing a diverse range of fake and real news,and their combination,are first transformed into a proper ***,algorithms for SPM are applied to the transformed datasets to extract frequent patterns(and rules)of words,phrases,or linguistic *** obtained patterns capture distinctive characteristics associated with fake or real news content,providing valuable insights into the underlying structures and commonalities of ***,the discovered frequent patterns are used as features for fake news *** framework is evaluated with eight classifiers,and their performance is assessed with various *** experiments were performed and obtained results show that FNACSPM outperformed other state-of-the-art approaches for fake news classification,and that it expedites the classification task with high accuracy.
