Supplier selection is a critical component of Supply Chain Management (SCM), as suppliers provide raw materials or services essential for supporting a company's operations. Traditional supplier selection methods often rely on subjective assessments to determine the weighting of criteria, which can lead to biases and suboptimal decision making. To address this issue, this study combines the Logarithmic Percentage Change of Weight (LOPCOW) method with the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to enhance objectivity in the supplier selection process. The LOPCOW method is used to assign criterion weights objectively based on logarithmic percentage changes, which helps minimize subjectivity, These weights are then applied using the SAW method to evaluate and rank suppliers. The results of the study show that this combined approach is more reliable for selecting suppliers objectively and accurately. The study suggests integrating other Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods to further strengthen the results while recommending the inclusion of real-time data analytics to improve the model's adaptability to dynamic market conditions. The LOPCOW-SAW approach can be applied across various industries for more effective and efficient SCM supplier selection. © 2024 IEEE.

We present a lightweight and efficient semisupervised video object segmentation network based on the space-time memory *** some extent,our method solves the two difficulties encountered in traditional video object segmentation:one is that the single frame calculation time is too long,and the other is that the current frame’s segmentation should use more information from past *** algorithm uses a global context(GC)module to achieve highperformance,real-time *** GC module can effectively integrate multi-frame image information without increased memory and can process each frame in real ***,the prediction mask of the previous frame is helpful for the segmentation of the current frame,so we input it into a spatial constraint module(SCM),which constrains the areas of segments in the current *** SCM effectively alleviates mismatching of similar targets yet consumes few additional *** added a refinement module to the decoder to improve boundary *** model achieves state-of-the-art results on various datasets,scoring 80.1%on YouTube-VOS 2018 and a J&F score of 78.0%on DAVIS 2017,while taking 0.05 s per frame on the DAVIS 2016 validation dataset.

Gliomas are aggressive brain tumors known for their heterogeneity,unclear borders,and diverse locations on Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)*** factors present significant challenges for MRI-based segmentation,a crucial step for effective treatment planning and monitoring of glioma *** study proposes a novel deep learning framework,ResNet Multi-Head Attention U-Net(ResMHA-Net),to address these challenges and enhance glioma segmentation ***-Net leverages the strengths of both residual blocks from the ResNet architecture and multi-head attention *** powerful combination empowers the network to prioritize informative regions within the 3D MRI data and capture long-range *** doing so,ResMHANet effectively segments intricate glioma sub-regions and reduces the impact of uncertain tumor *** rigorously trained and validated ResMHA-Net on the BraTS 2018,2019,2020 and 2021 ***,ResMHA-Net achieved superior segmentation accuracy on the BraTS 2021 dataset compared to the previous years,demonstrating its remarkable adaptability and robustness across diverse ***,we collected the predicted masks obtained from three datasets to enhance survival prediction,effectively augmenting the dataset *** features were then extracted from these predicted masks and,along with clinical data,were used to train a novel ensemble learning-based machine learning model for survival *** model employs a voting mechanism aggregating predictions from multiple models,leading to significant improvements over existing *** ensemble approach capitalizes on the strengths of various models,resulting in more accurate and reliable predictions for patient ***,we achieved an impressive accuracy of 73%for overall survival(OS)prediction.

Recently, Internet of Underwater Things (IoUT) is a new technology used by researchers to explore underwater phenomena. Information is collected by underwater sensors and sent to the Ocean of Things (OoT) network, which is located on the water surface. OoT floaters then collect the data and send it to coastal stations via radio signals. Since the underwater environment is harsh for telecommunication, one of the current challenges in this architecture is the collected data transmission through the routes that can provide quality of service parameters (e.g., delay and packet loss). Hence, an optimal method is proposed in this article to reduce end-to-end delay and increase packet delivery rate in the hybrid networks of the internet of things and the ocean of things. In the proposed method, the network controller collects the underwater things data and creates the network graph using the capabilities of software-Defined Network (SDN) architectures. Then, the routing problem is modeled in the form of an Integer Linear Programming (ILP) model to improve the quality of service. The created model is then solved using the Golden Eagle Optimization (GEO) metaheuristic algorithm to find the optimal routes. Finally, the network controller installs the calculated routes on the underwater things to send information to the ocean of things floaters through these optimal routes. In the proposed method, the ocean of things floaters acts as fog nodes and send the received data to the coastal stations after preprocessing operations for analysis. Simulation results show that the proposed method can significantly improve the quality-of-service parameters. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper explores strategies to improve the energy efficiency and operational longevity of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) through the optimization of clustering techniques and energy efficient routing protocols. The proposed methodology is precisely crafted to optimize energy consumption (EC) while preserving the overall effectiveness of WSNs. LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Cluster Hierarchy) is a cluster-based protocol where non-cluster head nodes deactivate their RF until their allocated time slots. Nevertheless, a drawback of traditional LEACH is its random rotation of local Cluster Heads (CH), leading to unequal cluster distribution. To overcome this issue, we proposed a novel hybrid technique called LEACH-D protocol and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The LEACH-D algorithm enhances the duration of transmission tasks while ensuring uniform battery energy consumption. On the other hand, the ANN plays a pivotal role in coordinating optimal routing decisions and CH placement, refining data aggregation and transmission mechanisms to restrain idle listening. The findings indicate that the suggested approach manifests as substantial reductions in energy consumption and prolonged network lifespan of WSN. © 2024 IEEE.

The utilization of Data-Driven Machine Learning (DDML) models in the healthcare sector poses unique challenges due to the crucial nature of clinical decision-making and its impact on patient outcomes. A primary concern in this domain is the data quality that forms the basis for these models, which is essential for their effectiveness. While numerous studies are dedicated to leveraging Machine Learning (ML) to enhance patient care, a substantial gap exists in understanding and evaluating the quality of training data before training ML models. This issue is exacerbated by the lack of well-defined standards to ensure that data characteristics align with the specific goals of ML in healthcare. To address this, our study introduces a conceptual three-dimensional framework focusing on data accuracy, completeness, and consistency aimed at assessing and improving the quality of training data. This framework is designed to enhance the performance, predictability, and interpretability of healthcare-specific ML models and reduce biases, thus bridging current research gaps and laying the groundwork for future developments in ML-driven healthcare systems. This paper presents the initial step for our proposed Data Quality Framework (DQF), which addresses the three dimensions mentioned above. It discusses its potential implications and applications in healthcare data, and its main goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of the proposed DQF, illustrating its significance in advancing healthcare data quality and ultimately improving patient outcomes. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

End-user feedback in social media platforms, particularly in the app stores, is increasing exponentially with each passing day. software researchers and vendors started to mine end-user feedback by proposing text analytics methods and tools to extract useful information for software evolution and maintenance. In addition, research shows that positive feedback and high-star app ratings attract more users and increase downloads. However, it emerged in the fake review market, where software vendors started incorporating fake reviews against their corresponding applications to improve overall software ratings. For this purpose, we conducted an exploratory study to understand how end-users register and write fake reviews in the Google Play Store. We curated a research data set containing 68,000 end-user comments from the Google Play Store and a fake review generator, that is, the Testimonial generator (TG). Its purpose is to understand fake reviews on these platforms and identify the common patterns potential end-users and professionals use to report fake reviews by critically analyzing the end-user feedback. We conducted a detailed survey at the University of Science and Technology Bannu, Pakistan, to identify the intelligence and accuracy of crowd-users in manually identifying fake reviews. In addition, we developed a ground truth to be compared with the results obtained from the automated machine and deep learning (M&DL) classifier experiment. In the survey, 512 end-users participated and recorded their responses in identifying fake reviews. Finally, various M&DL classifiers are employed to classify and identify end-user reviews into real and fake to automate the process. Unlike humans, the M&DL classifiers performed well in automatically classifying reviews into real and fake by obtaining much higher accuracy, precision, recall, and f-measures.
