The growing field of Content-Based Medical Image Retrieval (CBMIR) plays an integral role in the diagnosis and treatment plan of numerous diseases, including cancer. However, the effective representation of gigapixel medical images via a large number of extracted features remains a challenging task, crucially influencing other processes in a digital workflow. In this paper, we propose a novel QR code representation strategy to enhance retrieval performance. Unlike the traditional one-dimensional binary representation methods (i.e., barcodes), this 2D approach captures more intricate and informative patterns from the features by differentiating each pair of features resulting in a 2D binary vector. We delve into three distinct QR code generation strategies, namely, the Thresholding QR, the MinMax QR, and the Hybrid QR, each offering unique strengths. Our experiments on representing whole slide images of the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) dataset reveal that while the Hybrid QR tends to provide balanced performance, there are instances where the other two methods outshine. Even though this approach requires more memory usage, the considerable enhancement in accuracy justifies this trade-off;obviously, in medical applications, accuracy holds the highest priority. Hence, the findings indicate that QR codes can effectively improve the performance of CBMIR systems by not only accelerating the retrieval process but also increasing the accuracy of image retrieval, leading to potentially more accurate diagnoses and treatment planning. © 2023 IEEE.

The following algorithms for constructing predictive models of key quality indicators of polymer film materials are considered and implemented: adaptive boosting of decision trees (AdaBoost), recurrent neural network of long short-term memory (LSTM). The characteristics of production data and the stages of their preparation for the construction of predictive models are presented. The comparison of trained predictive models for the defect by the number of black dots per m2 of the film web is carried out by various algorithms according to the main metrics: precision, recall, f1-score, to identify the best depending on the production data. © 2023 IEEE.

To serve various tasks requested by various end devices with different requirements,end-edge-cloud(E2C)has attracted more and more attention from specialists in both academia and industry,by combining both benefits of edge and cloud *** nowadays,E2C still suffers from low service quality and resource efficiency,due to the geographical distribution of edge resources and the high dynamic of network topology and user *** address these issues,this paper focuses on task offloading,which makes decisions that which resources are allocated to tasks for their *** paper first formulates the problem into binary non-linear programming and then proposes a particle swarm optimization(PSO)-based algorithm to solve the *** proposed algorithm exploits an imbalance mutation operator and a task rescheduling approach to improve the performance of *** proposed algorithm concerns the resource heterogeneity by correlating the probability that a computing node is decided to process a task with its capacity,by the imbalance *** task rescheduling approach improves the acceptance ratio for a task offloading solution,by reassigning rejected tasks to computing nodes with available *** simulated experiments are *** the results show that the proposed offloading algorithm has an 8.93%–37.0%higher acceptance ratio than ten of the classical and up-to-date algorithms,and verify the effectiveness of the imbalanced mutation and the task rescheduling.

Feature selection is an expensive challenging task in machine learning and data mining aimed at removing irrelevant and redundant features. This contributes to an improvement in classification accuracy, as well as the budget and memory requirements for classification, or any other post-processing task conducted after feature selection. In this regard, we define feature selection as a multi-objective binary optimization task with the objectives of maximizing classification accuracy and minimizing the number of selected features. In order to select optimal features, we have proposed a binary Compact NSGA-II (CNSGA-II) algorithm. Compactness represents the population as a probability distribution to enhance evolutionary algorithms not only to be more memory-efficient but also to reduce the number of fitness evaluations. Instead of holding two populations during the optimization process, our proposed method uses several Probability Vectors (PVs) to generate new individuals. Each PV efficiently explores a region of the search space to find non-dominated solutions instead of generating candidate solutions from a small population as is the common approach in most evolutionary algorithms. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first compact multi-objective algorithm proposed for feature selection. The reported results for expensive optimization cases with a limited budget on five datasets show that the CNSGA-II performs more efficiently than the well-known NSGA-II method in terms of the hypervolume (HV) performance metric requiring less memory. The proposed method and experimental results are explained and analyzed in detail. © 2023 IEEE.

Advancing Smart Sensor Networks and Carbon-Based Biosensors Through Artificial Intelligence: A Deep Learning Approach to Optoelectronic Device Innovation

This research proposes a novel artificial decision-marking framework suitable for modern smart sensor networks and carbon-based biosensor systems which deals with uncertainty and the peculiarity of the data. To achieve the goals, the approach relies on the optoelectronic properties of carbon nanomaterials and already combines AI and deep learning. This raises the level of sensing, real-time data fusion, and adaptive decision-making within the environment to unprecedented levels. To enhance sensor evaluation in sensor manufacturing, we take a step further and implement Dombi Interval Valued Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets (D-IVIFs) and work with Dombi Interval Valued Intuitionistic Fuzzy Dombi Bonferroni Mean (D-IVIFDBM) for hierarchical decision-making. Moreover, two Multi-Attribute Group Decision Making (MAGDM) methods IVIFWDBM and IVIFWDGBM are developed for expert evaluation aggregation in selection tasks of different criteria to enhance selection accuracy. These experiments did demonstrate improvements in decision accuracy as well as better overall performance than conventional models of comparison. The numerical experiments showed that these methods are more effective than traditional MAGDM models. Introducing such an advanced decision framework in deep learning systems enables improved adaptability, security, and resilience in next-generation sensor networks and biosensor devices. The new paradigm enables real-time signal interpretation and adaptive learning and provides effective solutions in harsh environments where severe fluctuations are common. This study assists in addressing the discrepancy between conceptual decision models and actual physical achievements in smart sensing, which will foster the development of more sophisticated and efficient optoelectronic devices. © 2013 IEEE.

the design decisions made in the architecture of a software system are essential to its maintainability, and thus its quality is of great importance. Architecture smells (ASs) can be used to identify any quality issues within the system. To further explore the relationships between ASs, stability, and reusability, Spearman correlation coefficients will be calculated. This paper seeks to examine the connection between architecture smells, software stability, and reusability. To do this, we utilized a dataset created by other researchers and conducted an empirical study of the associations between five types of architecture smells and software stability and reusability. This research is necessary as there is a lack of in-depth research on architecture smells and their relationship to software stability and reusability. We found a relationship between the presence of Feature Concentration in package and the stability and reusability of the package. Also, package's stability is affected by both Cyclic Dependency and Unstable Dependency. A slight positive correlation has been found between God Class and stability, as well as a very weak negative correlation between Unstable Dependency and reusability. Finally, we found a slight negative correlation between package stability and reusability. © 2024 IEEE.

Thalassemia is the most common single-gene disorder throughout the world and represents a major public health problem resulting in abnormal ratios of hemoglobin subunits. It is widely spread throughout the Mediterranean region, Middle East, Southeast Asia, and some parts of Africa. There are different types of Thalassemia characterized by abnormal hemoglobin production. Most of the current hemoglobinopathy screening methods include High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), hemoglobin electrophoresis, screening of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) mutations, and Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) tests. However, all these methods are costly and require specialized instrumentation and trained technicians. Despite some studies used Artificial Intelligence (AI) they focused merely on Machine Learning (ML) and results were not optimal. This study aims to design a new AI-based framework for Thalassemia diagnosis using Deep Learning (DL) and a new combination of metrics for evaluation. This was achieved through the development and evaluation of a supervised semantic image segmentation model, and the implementation of different data engineering methods such as data annotation, augmentation, pre-processing, and preparation. Transfer learning was utilized and the Prediction Time Augmentation (PTA) was employed to get smoother and more accurate predictions. Quantitative results showed that, the mean Intersection Over Union (IoU) score of prediction of Thalassemia was 88% with PTA and 82% without PTA. Results also showed that as the combined metric of loss scores decreases the prediction of Thalassemia increases. Qualitative results showed that the final prediction of Thalassemia focuses on the Codocytes and labels the other unidentified cells as the background. Also, the resulting image was smoother and less bulky than the original annotated ground truth, and thus could be feasibly diagnosed. Image deformation technology is an important technology in computer graphics image processing, which can satisfy people's requirements for visual and sensory effects, and its research results have been widely used in film and television animation, game development, virtual reality and other fields. Mesh-based deformation technology has been a research emphasis in image deformation technology, through the virtual model for the mesh division, the use of mesh nodes control, to achieve the deformation of the model. However, the more complex the model is, the greater number of mesh control nodes, which greatly increases the complexity of mesh deformation. In this paper, the deformation of 3D virtual character model is studied based on the method of image topological deformation. In order to solve the problem of large number of network nodes in 3D model, the Laplace deformation method is further combined to reduce the number of control nodes in the network. The experimental results show that the deformation can be effectively completed using a small number of control nodes by using the laplace coordinate system for adjacent topological mesh node control. © 2022 IEEE.

To secure web applications from Man-In-The-Middle(MITM)and phishing attacks is a challenging task *** this purpose,authen-tication protocol plays a vital role in web communication which securely transfers data from one party to *** authentication works via OpenID,Kerberos,password authentication protocols,***,there are still some limitations present in the reported security *** this paper,the presented anticipated strategy secures both Web-based attacks by leveraging encoded emails and a novel password form pattern *** proposed OpenID-based encrypted Email’s Authentication,Authorization,and Accounting(EAAA)protocol ensure security by relying on the email authenticity and a Special Secret Encrypted Alphanumeric String(SSEAS).This string is deployed on both the relying party and the email server,which is unique and *** first authentication,OpenID Uniform Resource Locator(URL)identity,is performed on the identity provider side.A second authentication is carried out by the hidden Email’s server side and receives a third authentication *** Email’s third SSEAS authentication link manages on the relying party(RP).Compared to existing cryptographic single sign-on protocols,the EAAA protocol ensures that an OpenID URL’s identity is secured from MITM and phishing *** study manages two attacks such as MITM and phishing attacks and gives 339 ms response time which is higher than the already reported methods,such as Single Sign-On(SSO)and *** experimental sites were examined by 72 information technology(IT)specialists,who found that 88.89%of respondents successfully validated the user authorization provided to them via *** proposed EAAA protocol minimizes the higher-level risk of MITM and phishing attacks in an OpenID-based atmosphere.

In the context of video monitoring or surveillance, particularly in safe city initiatives, visual attributes of individuals such as gender, backpacks, and types of clothing are essential for person search and re-identification. Effectively detecting and extracting these attributes usually necessitates high-quality videos and images, which are often lacking in standard surveillance footage. Beyond improving hardware technology, enhancing inference algorithms for low-resolution (LR) data is essential. This research presents two solutions: developing a unified neural network architecture derived from existing models and introducing a new method for re-identification in LR videos. The proposed architecture, named SRMAR, incorporates Super Resolution (SR) alongside Multi-Attribute Recognition (MAR) models into a single neural network, thereby improving recognition effectiveness. Tests conducted on two benchmark datasets show that the architecture is effective and suitable for recognizing multiple attributes in LR images.
