Optimization is the selection of a best set of parameters from available alternative sets. Global optimization is the task of finding the absolutely best set of parameters. In this paper, we present an adaptive flower pollination algorithm for solving an optimization problem, i.e., minimization of software test suite for interaction testing. In software testing, test engineers generate a set of test cases to validate against the requirements to avoid failure of the software. Testing all the interactions for modern software with many system inputs is impractical due to huge number of possible combinations of the inputs. In order to tackle the issue, global optimization algorithms are used to systematically minimize the test suite for interaction testing. Using the proposed adaptive flower pollination algorithm, we carried out some experiments for minimizing software test suite for interaction testing. The results were compared with the results of some existing algorithms to demonstrate the strength of our algorithm. Comparison shows that our algorithm performs slightly better than the existing algorithms and thus, the proposed algorithm can potentially be used by researchers and test engineers to obtain optimal test suite. © 2017 IEEE.

Construction industry involves complex and challenging process associated with the risk of injury, death and property loss. Experts from different departments work together to develop a good management system in order to successfully complete a construction project. This paper presents a model of risk analysis using fuzzy logic to assess the risk involved in construction projects. The uncertainties related to cost, time and quality in the project is handled by the fuzzy logic that is one of the methods dealing with uncertainties in risk analysis. The model was validated using a real project. The test results demonstrated the plausibility of the model for the risk analysis in a real scenario. Using this model, one can prioritize and rank all risk factors in a construction project. Thus, the project managers and leaders can appropriately take precautions to avoid the risk. The proposed model of fuzzy-based risk analysis simplifies the risk management process, which helps the decision makers and the experts to monitor and to control the project, and ultimately, to meet the satisfaction of stakeholders.

In recent years, the development of systems for processing and analyzing large amounts of data (so-called Big Data) has become an important sub-discipline of software engineering. However, to date there exits no comprehensive summary of the specific idiosyncrasies and challenges that the development of Big Data systems imposes on software engineers. With this paper, we aim to provide a first step towards filling this gap based on our collective experience from industry and academic projects as well as from consulting and initial literature reviews. The main contribution of our work is a concise summary of 26 challenges in engineering Big Data systems, collected and consolidated by means of a systematic identification process. The aim is to make practitioners more aware of common challenges and to offer researchers a solid baseline for identifying novel software engineering research directions.

In many dynamic environments, where humans and agents coexist, agents cooperate for internal and external resources to achieve their goals. Consequently, the agents are exposed to the risk of being attacked by malicious agents. Such situation, if not mitigated, risks the entire model and threatens its long-term performances. Due to uncertainties of an agent and its potential behavior, especially in human-agent collaboration systems, an agent might behave fraudulently to its partners (humans or agents). Therefore, security is a crucial aspect in the initial development of a collaborative human-agent system. However, many research envisages the security aspects only in the implementation stage. At this stage, a security model is strictly formulated based on the techniques and constraints among agents. Over the past decade, many researchers propose various security models with outstanding features. However, despite the features of the proposed security models, there is still a lack of research effort in security aspects for multi-agent systems, which is considered as a critical challenge. In this paper, we attempt to enhance the Generic Nodal Abstraction (GNA) approach with a security model applied among agents in their communication. The enhancements include authentication, message encryption and interaction constraints.

With the rapid development of the information technologies in the financial field, extracting meaningful information from a massive amount of data is hugely significant for efficient business decision making. The recommendation system is an intelligent system that applies historical knowledge of users to infer their preferences and make a personalized recommendation. However, it suffers from the problem of time effect of user's behaviour, which means a user's interests may change over time. To overcome this problem, we propose a time effect based collaborative filtering approach to adaptively statistics the change of user preferences. Firstly, Item-based collaborative filtering is used to calculate rating similarity between items. Since an Item-based collaborative filtering algorithm doesn't consider the time effect; next, the time decay function is proposed to statistics the change of user interests. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme retained higher accuracy compare to traditional collaborative filtering method.

Cloud computing is an on-demand network self-service, dynamic power and virtual resources. It provide elasticity, restrictions and interactivity which introduces many new features and issues. This paper will review cloud computing common features and issues mainly in term of security. Security has been selected to be the focus of his paper due to high interest in security form both academics and inducts. This paper has categorized cloud computing feature into three categories i.e. technology, economy, and on-Technology. On the other hand this paper has categorized the cloud computing security issues into five categories i.e. infrastructure, data, access, compliance, and provider. This paper provides researchers and industry an insight about the cloud features and issues that may help them in directing their research and implementation of technologies and provide categorization for cloud computing features and issues, which can be expanded while the cloud computing technology advances.

Pairwise strategies have tested effectively a range of software and hardware systems. These testing strategies offer solutions that can substitute exhaustive testing. In simple terms, a pairwise testing strategy significantly minimizes large input parameter values (or configuration options) of a system into a smaller set based on pairwise interaction (or combination). Fuzzy Adaptive Teaching Learning-based Optimization (ATLBO) algorithm is an improved form of Teaching Learning-based Optimization (TLBO) algorithm. ATLBO employs Mamdani fuzzy inference system to select adaptively either teacher phase or learner phase based on performance instead of blind sequential application as in original TLBO. In this paper, two pairwise testing strategies based on ATLBO and TLBO are proposed. Experimental results suggest that the proposed strategies are capable to be part of testers' toolkit as they outperformed competing meta-heuristic based pairwise testing strategies and tools on many pairwise benchmarks. Moreover, ATLBO based strategy generated optimal pairwise test suites than the one based on TLBO. © 2017 IEEE.

The relationship between the weight of a single genes and the connection between the genes had been studied. Chemistry and physical sciences have proved the attraction between molecules. Molecules are attracted to each other by bond. This paper is presented to disclose the relationship between weight and connectivity of nodes with biased random walk. An equation of biased random walk which named as significant directed random walk is formed to enhance the connectivity of nodes in directed graph via weigh. To be completely biased to the random walk, references data is implement as directed graph. Weight of genes will be used as one of the parameter in the formula. While the adjacency matrix is further enhanced by Warshall's algorithm to increases the accessibility of nodes via vector. The evolution of random walk is disclosed in this paper as well. Significant directed random walk will be used to prove the importance of weight in this paper. Comparison of the result between biased random walk is presented to prove the enhancement of random walk.

The Fish owners of the pet fish are usually distressed when they are away from home environment because they could not feed the fish on time. Both reasons, food starvation and overfeeding risk the health of fish and leads to poor water quality in indoor fish tanks. Thus monitoring the fish feeder is of great importance which can be very beneficial for the fish owners. This work is aimed to design a fish feeder system using microcontroller and Raspberry Pi based web application to relax the distressed fish owners in feeding their fish on time. This system is designed to overcome the problem of fish dying due to fish feeder malfunction. With this design, the fish owner can monitor the fish tank for correct functioning of the fish feeder. Also, the user can set schedules for feeding the fish through the web application. © 2017 IEEE.
