This paper proposes a system that is capable of detecting, recognizing and indicating traffic signs to the driver to provide a safe and convenient driving experience. The system is composed of three phases;image pre-processing phase, detection phase and recognition phase. Image pre-processing phase deals with image segmentation that is employed to enhance the images to obtain clearer information under variable lighting conditions. During the detection phase, the objective is to find traffic signs in the input image frames and to return the regional coordinates of detected signs. In order to detect traffic signs, a cascade classifier was trained to analyse the frame and to detect signs in each frame. In the recognition phase, a multiclass support vector machine image category classifier was trained to recognize and alert the driver. The system comprised of these phases is capable of detecting, recognizing and alerting traffic signs with 98.6% accuracy while the vehicle is moving at a speed in the range of 40-45 km/h. © 2017 IEEE.

Nowadays, the movement control is troublesome for the expanding traffic. The quick addition in vehicular excursions without relating growing in street space is achieving generous blockage in various parts. This makes trouble for the emergency vehicles such as ambulance, fire emergency and VIP vehicles to travel through the congested traffic. By analyzing different proposed systems, another arrangement can be actualized by making the traffic lights somewhat wise. To this issue, a framework utilizing computational intelligence is proposed to assign clear path for the emergency vehicles with the utilization of RF transponder and microcontroller. The significant part of this work is focused on reducing the inertness of the emergency vehicles with least interruption to customary traffic stream.

Fingerprint image watermarking techniques have several advantages over traditional security systems that based on token or knowledge. However, they are also vulnerable to attacks that can decrease their security. In this regard, this paper presents a study of a number of research studies on the attacks of fingerprint images watermarking techniques. The attacks can be categorized into intentional and unintentional. We study several attacks based on that category and several fingerprint image watermarking methods. We produce a comprehensive comparison of those methods to show how the methods able to prevent the attacks. We also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the methods. Therefore, based on that, we can see what are the common attacks on the fingerprint image and what are the methods that efficient in preventing the attacks.

The issues of modelling software agents in collaborative systems present some problems and difficulties caused by the diversity of tasks and the procedures attached to them. Consequently, such diversity poses a critical challenge to implement scheduled tasks. In this paper, we propose collaborative human-agent system in which a software agent collaborates and cooperates with its human counterpart in several job positions of an organization. The goal of the GNA approach is to improve collaboration between humans when performing tasks within a workflow process. The GNA is built based on the concept of a node which comprises of a human, agents, and their shared functions. This concept espouses the notion that agents could be deployed to assist humans in many common workflow processes and to handle mundane tasks. Furthermore, a multi-agent system is advocated as an application or platform for managing distributed data. Specifically, this paper describes a conceptual design of a generic approach based on the notion of nodes to construct a Generic Nodal Abstraction (GNA) approach that is deployable as a modeling and simulation platform for organizational processes.

software development industry is inventing new development methodologies in last 10 years for improving the existing developing tools, process and delivering a high-quality software to end customer in short time. In recent year's waterfall development becomes less attractive in the software industry and shifted its attention towards the new software development methodologies such as agile. Agile brought the new dimension to software development and improved the development, testing process and added new challenges. There are different agile development methodologies in practice such as Scrum, FDD, Kanban, DSDM, XP, ASD, Lean, and Crystal, all these have different approaches in software development but share the same principle of the agile. Nowadays software development process adopted a new number of software tools in the overall process of development and software testing also moved towards the more automation to deploy, validate and verify the software code as early possible. In recent years, lean canvas is used for the planning and validating the business model and this paper will bring more focus on the lean canvas model design adaptation in agile software test strategy building, test planning and guiding the test team to work fast. Context: Combinatorial testing strategies have lately received a lot of attention as a result of their diverse applications. In its simple form, a combinatorial strategy can reduce several input parameters (configurations) of a system into a small set based on their interaction (or combination). In practice, the input configurations of software systems are subjected to constraints, especially in case of highly configurable systems. To implement this feature within a strategy, many difficulties arise for construction. While there are many combinatorial interaction testing strategies nowadays, few of them support constraints. Objective: This paper presents a new strategy, to construct combinatorial interaction test suites in the presence of constraints. Method: The design and algorithms are provided in detail. To overcome the multi-judgement criteria for an optimal solution, the multi-objective particle swarm optimisation and multithreading are used. The strategy and its associated algorithms are evaluated extensively using different benchmarks and comparisons. Results: Our results are promising as the evaluation results showed the efficiency and performance of each algorithm in the strategy. The benchmarking results also showed that the strategy can generate constrained test suites efficiently as compared to state-of-the-art strategies. Conclusion:The proposed strategy can form a new way for constructing of constrained combinatorial interaction test suites. The strategy can form a new and effective base for future implementations. A Flexible Keyphrase Extraction Technique for Academic Literature

A keyphrase extraction technique endeavors to extract quality keyphrases from a given document, which provide a high-level summary of that document. Except statistical keyphrase extraction approaches, all other approaches are either domain-dependent or require a sufficient amount of training data, which are rare at present. Therefore, in this paper, a new tree-based automatic keyphrase extraction technique is proposed, which is domain-independent and employs nominal statistical knowledge; but no train data are required. The proposed technique extracts a quality keyphrase through forming a tree from a candidate keyphrase; and later, it is expanded or shrunk or remained in the same state depending on other similar candidate keyphrases. At the end, keyphrases are extracted from the resultant trees based on a value, µ (which is the Maturity Index (MI) of a node in the tree), which enables flexibility in this process. A small µ value would yield many and/or lengthy keyphrases (greedy approach); whereas, a large µ value would yield lower and/or abbreviated keyphrases (conservative approach). Thereby, a user can extract his/her desired-level of keyphrases through tuning µ value. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is evaluated on an actual corpus, and compared with Rapid Automatic Keyphrase Extraction (RAKE) technique.

In the present work three different types of Nanofillers such as multiwalled carbon Nanotubes (CNTSs), aluminum oxide Nanoparticles and Nanosize activated charcoal were mixed with urea formaldehyde (UF) resin and used in the preparation of medium density fiberboard (MDF). The fillers has improved heat transfer during hot pressing and achieved proper curing due to enhanced thermos-physical properties of wood fibers. To improve the dispersion of Nanofillers into UF matrix, high speed mechanical stirring and ultrasonic treatments were used. The CNTSs were oxidized with nitric acid and the functional groups formed on its surface improved the dispersion and interaction with UF matrix. The mixing of CNTSs and Aluminum oxide with UF resin have reduced the curing time due to enhanced thermal conductivity of MDF matrix. The heat transfer during hot pressing of MDF improved significantly with the addition of CNTSs and Al 2 O 3 Nanoparticle. The activated charcoal did not show much effect on heat transfer. The curing rate of UF resin improved with all the three Nanofillers, as the activation energy of UF curing decreases. The physical and mechanical properties of MDF have improved significantly with CNTSs and Al2O3 Nanoparticle. The activated charcoal has significantly decreased the formaldehyde emission of MDF.

Toxic code snippets on stack overflow

Online code clones are code fragments that are copied from software projects or online sources to Stack Overflow as examples. Due to an absence of a checking mechanism after the code has been copied to Stack Overflow, they can become toxic code snippets, e.g., they suffer from being outdated or violating the original software license. We present a study of online code clones on Stack Overflow and their toxicity by incorporating two developer surveys and a large-scale code clone detection. A survey of 201 high-reputation Stack Overflow answerers (33% response rate) showed that 131 participants (65%) have ever been notified of outdated code and 26 of them (20%) rarely or never fix the code. 138 answerers (69%) never check for licensing conflicts between their copied code snippets and Stack Overflow's CC BY-SA 3.0. A survey of 87 Stack Overflow visitors shows that they experienced several issues from Stack Overflow answers: mismatched solutions, outdated solutions, incorrect solutions, and buggy code. 85% of them are not aware of CC BY-SA 3.0 license enforced by Stack Overflow, and 66% never check for license conflicts when reusing code snippets. Our clone detection found online clone pairs between 72,365 Java code snippets on Stack Overflow and 111 open source projects in the curated Qualitas corpus. We analysed 2,289 non-trivial online clone candidates. Our investigation revealed strong evidence that 153 clones have been copied from a Qualitas project to Stack Overflow. We found 100 of them (66%) to be outdated, of which 10 were buggy and harmful for reuse. Furthermore, we found 214 code snippets that could potentially violate the license of their original software and appear 7,112 times in 2,427 GitHub projects. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. In Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs), data routing is a major problem because of its quick change in topology and vehicular high mobility. VANETs are ad hoc wireless mobile networks which play important role in commercial applications and safety of public vehicular communications. The routing protocols that base on vehicular position are attracting much interest because of the availability and advancement of devices equipped with GPS. A major problem with VANETs is the frequent disruptions in the path of vehicles due to the high mobility of the participating vehicles. This can lead to the breaking of established links and result in low throughput, delay in service delivery, less overhead as well as low rate of delivery. In this paper, Using Receiver-Based Approach (URBA) is proposed. The proposed approach (URBA) compared to VANET, incorporates a potential receiver-based strategy which is traditionally better in performance and might achieve less delay in service delivery with a higher rate of delivery. © 2017 IEEE.
