Several previous works examine the use of cryptographic mining machines, for instance Bitcoin mining machines, in demand-response mechanisms, as part of the portfolio of assets managed by the grid operator. In this paper we extend this formulation by highlighting the effects of fast ramping transients, which may often occur in power grids rich with renewable energy sources. The resulting optimization problem is solved based on Pontryagin's minimum principle. We use this solution to examine the profitability and usage of these machines in a real-world settings, based on data from the California ISO and the ``Noga'' grid operator. In our analysis, we compare the effects of several key parameters, such as the electricity price, and the machines' price, hashrate and monetary revenue. These are examined for several different machine types that are available in the market today. Our main conclusion is that the profitability of the discussed mechanism is highly influenced by the cost of the mining machines, and the percentage of renewable sources within the energy mix, where some scenarios are more profitable then others. © 2025, The Authors. Switching power supply has wide application in various electrical equipment. The failure of high-voltage filter capacitors is the main cause of frequent faults, accounting for more than 60% of switching power supply failures. In order to realize the real-time detection of switching power supply failure without disassembling the power supply, a fault diagnosis model for improving the deep belief network (DTDBN) is proposed. The model uses the data acquisition device to isolate, filter, and collect data on the grid voltage of the switching power supply, judge the failure ratio of the filter capacitor according to the degree of voltage distortion of the power supply. Experimental results show that the proposed fault detection method achieves a 100% recognition rate for the filter capacitor normal state, 50% and 90% state recognition rate is 90%. The superiority of this method for the classification and early warning of power capacitor faults is proved. © 2021 IEEE.

This study presents a comprehensive benchmarking analysis of cryptographic protocols for Internet of Things (IoT) malware defense. The framework was specifically tailored to evaluate cryptographic protocols such as AES-128, AES-256, ChaCha20, RSA (1024-bit, 2048-bit, and 4096-bit), SHA256, SHA512, and HMAC-SHA256 were tested in both standalone and emulated environments. The primary objective was to evaluate the performance and resource consumption of these protocols, focusing on their encryption and hashing efficiency. Key innovations include the comparative analysis of resource consumption and performance efficiency across diverse cryptographic operations, under both real-world and emulated conditions. By identifying protocols like ChaCha20 for high efficiency and minimal resource usage, and RSA 4096-bit for enhanced security at higher computational costs, this study provides actionable insights into the trade-offs between security and performance. These findings offer a foundational reference for selecting optimized cryptographic protocols, advancing IoT malware defense strategies through informed decision-making.

In recent years, support vector machine has become one of the most important classification techniques in pattern recognition, machine learning, and data mining due to its superior classification effect and solid theoretical base. However, its training time will increase dramatically as the number of samples increases, and training will become more sophisticated when dealing with problems involving multiple classifications. A quick training data reduction approach MOIS appropriate for multi-classification tasks is presented as a solution for the aforementioned issues. While eliminating redundant training samples, the boundary samples that play a vital role are chosen in order to considerably reduce training data and the problem of unequal distribution between categories. The experimental results demonstrate that MOIS may maintain or even improve the classification performance of support vector machines while substantially enhancing training efficiency. On the Opt digit dataset, the suggested method improves classification accuracy from 98.94% to 99.05%, while training time is reduced to 15% of the original;in HCL2000, the proposed method improves classification accuracy from 98.94% to 99.05%. When the accuracy rate is marginally increased (from 99.29% to 99.30%) on the first 100 categories dataset, the training time is dramatically reduced to less than 6% of the original. The transition to electric transportation demands efficient and cost-effective powertrains. Optimizing energy use is crucial for extending range and reducing expenses. However, comparing inverter and motor efficiency based on inverter topologies is challenging due to biased methodologies that favor certain designs over others. This document introduces a novel optimization-based approach for enhancing partial load efficiency and minimizing chip area of single and dual traction inverters, indicating potential energy savings and cost reduction. Recent publications of both industry [1], [2] and academia [3] underscore the importance of these design goals achieved by either novel inverter topologies or enhanced control methods. Two promising topologies with the inherent capability of partial load optimization are evaluated regarding chip area and system efficiency to find the most suitable concept for future electric vehicle power trains.

Requirement elicitation (RE) is a cognitively challenging and time-consuming task in software development due to the numerous challenges associated with it including conflicting requirements, unspoken, or assumed requirements, difficulty meeting with relevant stakeholders, stakeholder resistance to change, and not enough time set aside for meetings with all stakeholders. The prime causes of software implementation failure have been identified as inadequacies in the treatment of requirements. Without collecting the quality requirement, cannot achieve the goal of a quality software product. Through identifying the success factors affecting requirement elicitation, the paths to the quality requirements can be identified. The success factors identify through this research are experience, business analyst skills, stakeholder relationship, organizational elicitation process. This study aims to identify the factors affecting requirement elicitation based on the data collected from business analysts and similar positions in the software industry through a survey, interviews, and analyzed data to provide the initial validation for the identified factors. Through the analysis, we identified the main factors affecting successful requirement elicitation with a perfect significance value of less than 0.05 for all factors.

Smart wearables and body implanted IoT devices continuously track and transmit health metrics wirelessly to a central controller, such as a personal server, enabling real-time monitoring, proactive treatment and timely assistance. However, the security of IoT-enabled healthcare systems remains a concern, particularly regarding the protection of sensitive patient data. To address the aforementioned issue and enhance security in IoT-enabled healthcare services, we propose a robust anonymous authentication scheme in this work. By leveraging lightweight cryptographic primitives including hash functions and XOR operations coupled with physical unclonable functions (PUFs) and fuzzy extractors, the proposed scheme introduces a novel authentication and key agreement mechanism for secure communication in IoT-enabled healthcare systems. The integration of PUF technology ensure the physical security of resource constrained implantable medical devices (IMDs) against various attacks including device physical capture and impersonation attacks that compromise the IoT-enabled healthcare operations. A thorough security analysis demonstrated the robustness and resilience of the proposed scheme against various active and pas-sive security attacks, thus ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive healthcare data. Finally, comparative analysis of the proposed scheme with other state-of-the-art highlighted that our scheme outperformed other approaches in terms of providing security and additional features, positioning it as a comprehensive solution for authentication in IoT-enabled healthcare services.

Background: Cloud Computing has drawn much attention in the industry due to its cost-efficient schema along with more prospects, such as elasticity and scalability nature of Cloud Com-puting. One of the main service models of a Cloud is software as a service, where many web services are published and hosted in the Cloud environment. Many web services offered in a Cloud have similar functionality, with different of characteristics non-functional requirements such as Quality of Service (QoS). In addition, as individual web services are limited in their capability. Therefore, there is a need for composing existing services to create new functionality in the form of composite service to fulfill the requirements of Cloud user for certain processes. Methods: This paper introduces a fuzzy rule approach to compose web service based on QoS from different Cloud Computing providers. The fuzzy rule is generated based on QoS of discovered web service from Cloud in order to compose web services that only match user requirements. The proposed model is based on an agent that is responsible for discovering and composing web service that only stratified user requirements Result: the experimental result shows that the proposed model is efficient in terms of time and the use of fuzzy rules to compose web services from different Cloud providers under different specifica-tions and configurations of Cloud Computing environment. Conclusion: In this paper, an agent-based model was proposed to compose web services based on fuzzy rule in Cloud environment. The agent is responsible for discovering web services and generat-ing composition plans based on offered QoS for each web service. The agent employs a set of fuzzy rules to carry out an intelligent selection to select the best composition plan that fulfills the requirements of the end user. Schelling games use a game-theoretic approach to study the phenomenon of residential segregation. We consider four global measures of diversity, and prove asymptotically tight or almost tight bounds on the price of anarchy with respect to these measures on both general graphs and common specific graphs. In addition we did simulations of our swap games.

Interface design is a mandatory aspect influencing the success of an e-Learning system implementation. User interface (UI) design of e-learning is a point of interaction between user and computer software. Users prefer more attractive and simpler interface designs rather than dull or complex designs. This study aims to outline the impact of UI design on the satisfaction of learners. Specifically, this study will be evaluating different user interaction design strategies such as ease of navigation, ease of resource discoverability, ease of configuring integrated tools etc. in e-learning platforms such as learning management systems, and massive open online courses (MOOCs). Further, this research aims to find answers for the challenges and issues faced by students and teachers when using e-learning platforms. A comprehensive questionnaire was distributed among teachers and students. Collected data was analyzed to get an idea about main interface design problems that frustrate the learners and teachers and distract them from educational tasks. Using this statistical analysis results, a model is proposed indicating success factors and failure factors that may affect to e-learning system interface designing. Moreover, this research also results in a set of guidelines or suggestions that can be followed to improve UI designing in e-learning platforms. Finally, an initial prototype implementation capable of recommending suggestions intelligently for e-learning platform designers and users is proposed after modelling the user satisfaction factors. © 2021 IEEE.
