The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies into modern homes has enhanced safety and comfort, particularly in detecting gas leaks, which pose serious fire hazards. Gas leaks can often be detected by smell, but this method fails when no one is present. Previous research using microcontrollers and sensors to detect gas leaks faced challenges with accuracy due to noise interference. This paper proposes the use of a Kalman filter, developed by Rudolf Emil Kalman in 1960, to improve gas leak detection accuracy by filtering out noise. The system comprises an Arduino Nano, ESP8266 WiFi module, MQ-2 gas sensor, buzzer, and ThingSpeak cloud platform. By applying the Kalman filter, noise and data oscillations are reduced, enhancing detection accuracy. Experimental results show the system effectively detects gas leaks, provides real-time data, and triggers alarms. Future improvements could include additional sensors and features to further increase the system’s reliability and functionality.

Quantum entanglement is so fundamentally different from a network packet that several quantum network stacks have been proposed;one of which has even been experimentally demonstrated. Several simulators have also been developed to make up for limited hardware availability, and which facilitate the design and evaluation of quantum network protocols. However, the lack of shared tooling and community-agreed node architectures has resulted in protocol implementations that are tightly coupled to their simulators. Besides limiting their reusability between different simulators, it also makes building upon prior results and simulations difficult. To address this problem, we have developed QuIP: a P4-based Quantum Internet Protocol prototyping framework for quantum network protocol design. QuIP is a framework for designing and implementing quantum network protocols in a platform-agnostic fashion. It achieves this by providing the means to flexibly, but rigorously, define device architectures against which quantum network protocols can be implemented in the network programming language P416. QuIP also comes with the necessary tooling to enable their execution in existing quantum network simulators. We demonstrate its use by showcasing V1Quantum, a completely new device architecture, implementing a link- and network-layer protocol, and simulating it in the existing simulator NetSquid. © 2024, CC BY.

Advancements in single-cell multi-omics sequencing technologies have dramatically transformed the analysis of cellular states at single-cell resolution. Cluster analyses leveraging single-cell transcriptome and epigenome data have enabled the characterization of cellular states and the delineation of transcriptomic regulatory programs associated with cellular heterogeneity. However, the high dimensionality, sparsity, and heterogeneity inherent to multi-omics data present significant challenges to their clustering analysis. In this study, we introduced single-cell Multi-Omics Generative Adversarial Networks (scMOGAN), an unsupervised clustering model specifically tailored for single-cell transcriptome and epigenome data. scMOGAN accomplishes this by efficaciously modeling the omics data and mining potential features through neural networks, ultimately utilizing Gaussian mixture models for cell type identification. To validate and scrutinize the performance of scMOGAN, we performed analyses on two actual multi-omics datasets and one simulated dataset. The results demonstrate that scMOGAN surpasses other existing methods in terms of clustering performance, underscoring its efficacy in navigating the complexities of multi-omics data.

Voice of dogs can be heard by people who listen to them. The more you listen, the more you learn about the dogs. This study proposes a platform to identify and observe dogs' behavior and their activities by using the newest technologies. The proposed system will mainly cover the relevant areas that are supposed to be covered to full fill the pet owners' expectations by providing necessary services such as internal health, voice recognition, and emotion translations and external issues such as skin diseases, breeding patterns, and breeding outcomes. Our priority is to emphasize necessary services in the mobile application and provide fluid services with fewer interruptions. Primarily research will offer an IoT device and a mobile application that covers the dog's internal health and external health consecutively. The study revealed current developments and the challenges and possibilities related to the system. © 2021 IEEE.

Cancer survival prediction is pivotal in tailoring individualized treatment strategies and guiding clinician decision-making. Yet, existing methodologies grapple with efficiently harnessing the intricate distribution of medical data spanning various modalities. In response, we present SAMMS, an advanced multi-omics multimodal deep learning framework tailored for survival prediction. SAMMS leverages the robust image segmentation model, "Segment Anything" to adeptly characterize pathological images. This prowess is further enhanced by integrating multi-omics data and clinical insights, facilitating holistic modeling across a diverse modal spectrum. The framework weaves a modality-specific subnetwork with a cross-modality common subnetwork, meticulously capturing intra-modality nuances and inter-modality correlations. SAMMS eclipsed its contemporaries by delivering remarkable performance on TCGA’s LGG and KIRC tumor datasets. A battery of analyses underscored SAMMS’s unparalleled capability to distill multifaceted insights from multimodal datasets, yielding richer and more integrative multimodal representations. Such strides promise significant advancements in cancer survival analytics, bolstering the precision and efficacy of patient-centric treatments, disease oversight, and clinical decision processes.

With fast development of Cyber Physical System, the variety and volume of data generated from different edge servers are fairly considerable. Mining and exploiting the data would definitely bring huge advantages. However, there are two major issues exposed in the process. First, utilizing the data with high efficiency is challenging in edge computing environment. Second, data from multiple edge servers often contain sensitive information such as user preferences, which will give rise to privacy breach risks when using the data. Locality-Sensitive Hashing and amplified technology are utilized for dealing with two problems. In this paper, we propose a novel privacy-protection approach named SRchain-LSH in edge computing environment which is based on amplified Locality-Sensitive Hashing technique. In order to verify high accuracy and efficiency of our proposal, large sets of experiments are conducted. According to experimental results, our proposal shows better performance than those of comparative methods in terms of MAE , RMSE and time costs. For our method, the best value of MAE is about 0.41 and time cost is about 0.1 seconds, which are more accurate and efficient than comparative methods. © 2022 IEEE.

The immune system plays a crucial role in defending the body against diseases, making it vital to develop models that can accurately predict immune system strength. This study presents an Enhanced Deep Learning Strategy (EDLS) designed to predict immune system strength based on immune-related biomarkers such as White Blood Cell (WBC) count and Immunoglobulins. A dataset consisting of 23,654 records with 12 features was collected from clinical sources. The data underwent comprehensive preprocessing, including noise reduction using a Median Filter, feature selection with Random Forest, and data fusion using Kalman Filters. The EDLS model integrates AutoEncoder for dimensionality reduction and Cascaded Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) for capturing temporal dependencies. The proposed model outperforms nine traditional and advanced machine learning models, including Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), with an accuracy of 94.72%. Evaluation metrics such as Precision (92.01%), Recall (93.77 % ), and F1-Score (92.88 % ) highlight the model's effectiveness in predicting immune system strength. Feature importance analysis reveals that WBC count and Immunoglobulins are the most influential predictors. This study demonstrates the potential of EDLS for enhancing immune strength prediction, which can have significant implications for personalized healthcare and disease prevention.

The majority of prevailing image fusion methods employ a global strategy, often resulting in a reduction of contrast. In this study, we propose an image fusion approach (FusionNGFPE), specifically tailored to the structural characteristics of infrared (IR) imagery. We introduce a contrast equalization algorithm based on the Fourth-order Partial Differential Equation (FPDE) to effectively enhance background regions. Recognizing the inherent disparities between IR and visible (VIS) images, we devise a hybrid fusion strategy leveraging the Expectation Maximization algorithm (EM) and Principal Component Analysis algorithm (PCA). Comparative analysis against state-of-the-art fusion methods demonstrates the superior performance of our proposed algorithm in both qualitative and quantitative assessments. Additionally, to assess the practical applicability of FusionNGFPE, we integrate the fusion framework into the RGBT target tracking task utilizing the VOT-RGBT and OTCBVS datasets. Through comprehensive comparative experiments, we ascertain that the FusionNGFPE framework seamlessly integrates with the tracking task, significantly enhancing tracking accuracy across diverse scenarios. © 2024, The Authors. Stroke is a life-threatening disease usually due to blockage of blood or insufficient blood flow to the *** has a tremendous impact on every aspect of life since it is the leading global factor of disability and *** can range from minor to severe(extensive).Thus,early stroke assessment and treatment can enhance survival *** prediction is extremely time and resource *** prediction methods such as Modern Information and Communication Technologies(ICTs),particularly those inMachine Learning(ML)area,are crucial for the early diagnosis and prognosis of ***,this research proposed an ensemble voting model based on three Machine Learning(ML)algorithms:Random Forest(RF),Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost),and Light Gradient Boosting Machine(LGBM).We apply data preprocessing to manage the outliers and useless instances in the ***,to address the problem of imbalanced data,we enhance the minority class’s representation using the Synthetic Minority Over-Sampling Technique(SMOTE),allowing it to engage in the learning process *** reveal that the suggested model outperforms existing studies and other classifiers with 0.96%accuracy,0.97%precision,0.97%recall,and 0.96%*** experiment demonstrates that the proposed ensemble voting model outperforms state-of-the-art and other traditional approaches.

Eye-tracking can detect and examine human visual attention, emotional conditions, latent cognitive processes such as efforts to recall a concept or the fear of running out of time, and so on. Hence, we can use eye-tracking to identify deviant behavior patterns in learning and problem-solving. At present, given the existence of a global pandemic, online exams are widely used by educational institutions to evaluate students' performance. However, identifying cheating is challenging due to the absence of a human (invigilator) monitoring students' behavior as done in exams held in a physical location. In an online environment, students' behavior, and attempts to cheat, can only be captured via a computer, thus requiring a mechanism for online proctoring with capabilities for cheating detection. In this research paper, we present a browser based cheating detection approach in online examinations through eye gaze tracking. We developed a browser plugin to track the eye gaze movements through the in-built web camera. Using the plugin, we generate an eye gaze dataset while a student faces an online examination. We then process and analyze this dataset to detect any misbehavior during an online examination. The underlying research work of this paper identifies different eye gaze patterns during online examinations and present a cheating detection mechanism. For anomaly detection in the eye gaze data, we use a One-Class Support Vector Machine (OCSVM). We then use these identified anomalies to predict cheating behaviors of the test takers. The given approach can be used for any web-based quiz examination such as academic institutions' exams, company recruitment exams, and overseas testing exams to detect any anomalous behaviors of the test takers during the examination period. The given eye tracking approach can also be applied to other research domains such as online gaming, and web usability studies to capture information related to user behaviors. © 2021 IEEE.
