With the rapid growth of renewable energy in the power system and the implementation of large-capacity LCC-HVDC projects, the frequency support capability of the grid has been reduced. Simultaneously, the renewables-rich grid faces the risk of high-power shocks due to LCC-HVDC blocking. Existing centralized, single-measure approaches and the model-based emergency frequency control (EFC) methods are facing tremendous challenges. To fill this gap, this paper proposes a frequency emergency control method for renewables-rich grids that coordinates LCC-HVDC emergency power support and load shedding. The coordination of the two stabilization measures is modeled as a decentralized partially observable Markov decision process, and a multi-agent reinforcement learning (MADRL) approach is employed to optimize the power of measures for each stabilization control substation. An MADRL algorithm that integrates the system frequency response model is developed to overcome the problem of inaccurate evaluation of centralized action value in the MADRL algorithm used for EFC. This approach allows for the global optimization of the distributed coordination strategy through centralized training. The effectiveness and adaptability of the proposed method are demonstrated through simulations of the modified IEEE 39-bus system. © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Continual learning (CL) is essential for enabling models to adapt to dynamic data streams, with the primary challenge being the mitigation of catastrophic forgetting of previously acquired knowledge. Recent advancements have highlighted the potential of prompt-based CL methodologies, which have shown promise in preserving the knowledge embedded within pre-trained models, thereby addressing catastrophic forgetting. However, these methodologies are constrained by their focus on learning visual prompts for individual tasks, resulting in suboptimal generalization to unseen categories. To enhance the model’s ability to retain knowledge from prior tasks while simultaneously improving generalization to new tasks, we introduce a novel, lightweight framework for CL termed Adapter-Enhanced Semantic Prompting (AESP). This framework leverages class semantic information to augment visual features, thereby establishing relational links among different categories. This not only fortifies the retention of prior knowledge but also facilitates adaptation to new tasks. To seamlessly integrate visual and semantic information, we have developed a lightweight Adapter-enhanced Vision Transformer (ViT) architecture specifically designed for feature adaptation. Furthermore, we have implemented a robust Query-Key matching strategy to select the optimal task prompt pair, thereby enhancing the accuracy of final predictions. Comprehensive experiments conducted across three benchmark continual learning datasets demonstrate that our proposed framework outperforms several state-of-the-art approaches, showcasing its efficacy and robustness. Cloud environments utilize availability and usage of resources as crucial components in order to produce scalability, reliability and low cost. Such resource capabilities require autonomous systems that can handle these resources dynamically in spite of fluctuating workloads and service delivery requirements. Static models of resource management suffer from scalability and inability to react on the fly and accurately predict the demand thus causing Service Level Agreement (SLA) breaches and affecting the Quality of Service (QoS) as well as energy consumption profile. Advanced and elaborative cloud workloads require an intelligent system that can analyse the temporal and spatial patterns without impacting the overall system's performance significantly. Inspired by these challenges, this research proposes a Causal Dilated Geometric Algebra Convolutional Transformer Network (CATNet) along with the Prairie-Dog Optimizer (P-DogO), referred to as CAT-DogNet to learn and predict the dynamic scalability. CATNet integrates Causal Dilated Convolutional Networks in time domain for temporal structure capturing and Geometric Algebra Transformer for spatial resource coding. P-DogO adjusts weight parameters and losses for resource allocation, enhancing them depending on a work environment. A set of comprehensive assessments demonstrate a 0.85% SLA violation rate, average response time of less than 10ms, and overall 12.3% less energy consumption than baseline methods. The system had favourable predictability rates over 99.4% for the resource demand estimate. CAT-DogN et presents a sound and agnostic architecture for autonomous resource allocation in cloud environment, which indeed extend the state of art by considering flexibility, power consumption and QoS compliance.

With the rising competition among pharmaceutical companies, the current drug supply chain market has become more competitive with high-quality product segments. The rapid growth of internet pharmacies has made it more difficult to standardize drug safety throughout in complex distributed supply chain networks. There is a high chance of introducing counterfeit drugs which are almost the same as the original pharmaceuticals. Due to the lack of transparency the possibility of tampering with drugs in the current manual and web-based pharmaceutical systems is extremely high. Throughout the past recent years, these counterfeit drugs were recognized as the one of major worldwide problems. This situation is worse in developing countries. The unavailability of verifying the legitimacy of drug suppliers and poor mechanisms to trace the drugs were identified as critical points that need to be resolved. SUPPLYDECK comes as a solution for the critical scenario mentioned. This solution addresses the above problems using blockchain technology, as a distributed digital ledger that ensures transparency, traceability, and security. This can show promise for solving some global supply chain management problems using smart contracts and user authentication along with IoT technology and machine learning concepts that are critically examined with this potential application.

In modern era where software development is of vital importance, software developers are challenged with conditions like Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) which hinders their ability to work effectively. Furthermore, people with difficulties with using their hands also find it challenging to program in the traditional manner. As a solution, coding with one’s voice has been experimented with, but current solutions lack interactivity and are harder to use and setup leaving much room for improvement in this domain. In this research work, by using input classifier models with accuracies over 90%, intent classifiers with accuracies over 70%, code parsing and various human computer interaction techniques, we developed a conversationally interactive, programming language agnostic, easy to setup and easy to use Voice Coding Assistant. This will potentially help a global audience of programmers to achieve their goals and improve productivity and lead a healthier life. We have named the system thus developed, “Venic”.

Automated cognitive assessment tools are state-of-the-art in assessing cognition development. Due to the low availability of resources, building automated cognitive ability evaluation tools is challenging. This study focuses on developing machine learning models using a limited amount of data to assess Reasoning IQ, Knowledge IQ, Mental Chronometry and Attention-levels of Sinhala-speaking children between the age of 7 to 9 years. Our solution includes Sinhala speech recognition systems, image classification models, gaze estimation, blink count detection and facial expression recognition models to evaluate the above four cognitive ability measuring factors. Open domain speech recognition has been used to evaluate complex Sinhala child verbal responses and limited vocabulary responses were assessed using an end-to-end speech recognition system, respectively achieving 40.1% WER and 97.14% accuracy. Additionally, the image classification models for handwritten Sinhala letter recognition and two shape recognition models have gained 97%, 89% and 99% accuracy. The linear regression model for attention level evaluation that utilizes the inputs from a combination of eye-gaze estimation, facial expression recognition and blink rate detection models has gained 85% accuracy.

Trust is essential in the constantly developing environment of online social networks. The Nexus Terroism Impact and Intro Trust facilitate the communication, decision-making, and maintenance of digital communities among individuals. Trust-based Learning with Classification Principle (TLCP) is introduced in this research to improve the assessment of trust in social networks. To ascertain its efficacy, our proposed methodology undergoes a 10-fold cross-validation against the Trust Assessment Methodology (TAM). The traditional Trust Assessment Model (TAM) evaluates and regulates trust in Internet social networking. This method incorporates trust assessment factors to generate a user dependability judgment that is both discriminatory and dynamic. The Trustworthy Account Management (TAM) challenge is designed to enhance digital trust by addressing disinformation, deception, and hostile conduct. The TLCP is able to accurately evaluate trust by utilizing reputation scoring, community analysis, and user behavior metrics. Trust levels are dynamically adjusted as a result of the identification of trustworthy behavioral patterns and danger indicators by machine learning algorithms and social media data. This research examines the connections between trust management and digital interactions and suggests a general solution to alleviate specific trust evaluation issues across online social networks.

The Huaihe River Basin (HRB) is an important water system in eastern China, and its water quality has received widespread attention. This study explored the latest spatial variation patterns of surface water quality in the HRB to cope with the increasingly severe challenges of water resource management. By integrating multidimensional water quality data from surface water monitoring stations, including dissolved oxygen (DO), chemical oxygen demand (COD_Mn and COD), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD₅), ammonia nitrogen (NH₃–N), total phosphorus (TP), and total nitrogen (TN), this study utilized a cluster analysis technique to categorize the water quality data and reveal changes in the geographic variability of water quality. Among the 382 monitoring stations in the HRB, 258 stations had TN content lower than Class V, which was the highest among all monitoring indicators. The entropy weight method used to assess the comprehensive water quality showed that there were 157 and 163 monitoring stations belonging to Class III and IV, respectively, and stations with poor water quality were distributed downstream in the river network and estuary area. Correlation and cluster analyses indicated that agricultural and organic matter pollution were the two main factors affecting water quality in the HRB, particularly in the downstream area, and the high loading of nutrient salts such as TP and NH₃–N reflected the significant influence of agricultural activities. In addition, the study examined the potential driving role of factors such as topography, geomorphology, and human activities on water quality changes and visualized the relationship between water quality class and cluster categories through spatial distribution maps and Sankey diagrams to clarify the regional patterns of water quality problems. © The Author(s) 2025.

The great majority of manual processes have been automated in the current day. Nonetheless, there is no reliable approach for evaluating UML diagrams for plagiarism and correctness. Unified Modeling Language (UML) provides the basis for UML diagrams. UML Diagrams are typically used to graphically express a system’s stakeholders, activities, objects, and classes to get a deep knowledge of a particular system. UML diagrams are widely used by industry experts as well as beginners. Class diagrams and use case diagrams are the most commonly used diagrams in UML. Though most computer science-related students get assessed in UML modelling, diagram plagiarism isn’t considered in most exams since it’s a tedious task to perform. The proposed system automates capturing details in UML diagram components and generating a model answer from the given question scenario to compare the diagrams and calculate the plagiarism percentage with the correction percentage.
