A critical step in the creation of software is the elicitation of requirements. According to most of the research, nonfunctional requirements get less attention from nonfunctional requirements, also necessary for the creation of every new application. A poor choice of elicitation causes the system to malfunction. Without the use of an elicitation approach, the needs and requirements of users cannot be ascertained. Ensuring efficient communication between analysts and users during the elicitation process is the biggest challenge for analysts. This study's major artifact is a proposed model that creates a conceptual model automatically from a series of agile requirements given as user stories. The accuracy, especially when user stories are succinct assertions that identify the issue to be handled, was one of our case study's positive outcomes. The objective was to prove that artificial intelligence can be used to elicit software requirements for software systems, and the findings support this claim. An elicitation model for NFR in agile methodology is proposed by this work. The approach will help the software business identify and collect needs for all kinds of software. as well as directing both users and developers in the development of software. Due to the elicitations of both FRs and NFRs of the initial phase in agile projects, which receive less attention, this study decreased the time, effort, and risk. © 2022 IEEE.

According to the requirement of recognizing traffic police gestures for driver assistance systems and intelligent vehicles, a universal model for dynamic traffic police gesture recognition is firstly introduced, of which can accurately present the spatial context (such as the relative lengths of skeletons, the angles between each skeleton w. r. t. gravity, and part features) of the traffic police gestures. Secondly, an architecture which can respectively extract spatial context and temporal features of dynamic traffic police gesture is proposed. Meanwhile, deep neural network and LSTM are introduced to build a high-resolution traffic police gestures recognizer (namely HRTPGR). At last, the open Police Gesture Dataset is used to train and test TPGR, and the experimental results show that the TPGR achieves a state-of-the-art accuracy with 98.7% for dynamic traffic police gestures recognition, and has strong anti-interference ability to light, background and gesture shape changes. © 2023 IEEE.

Given maize’s significant role as a staple crop, it becomes imperative to carry out precise crop yield prediction to ensure food security. This research employs machine learning algorithms to analyze historical data related to maize crop yields, with the aim of developing a predictive model. The outcome of this study can serve as a valuable tool for pre-harvest planning and measuring crop production per unit of land area. The dataset utilized in this research spans from 2010 to 2021 and was sourced from Ethiopia’s Central Statistical Agency. Three machine learning regression algorithms—Logistic Regression, XGBoost, and Random Forest—were employed to design the predictive model. After data preparation and preprocessing, a total of 436,358 records were used for model development. The models were further trained with reduced features using principal component analysis (PCA). The experimental results demonstrate that the Random Forest algorithm, trained with a reduced number of features through PCA, yielded superior performance, with a lower error rate and a high R2 score of 0.98. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The house is one of the essential humans needs as a place to gather and do activities with family, and shelter, as well as a means of investment. The growth rate of people's demand for housing, especially houses in an area, is influenced by the rate of population growth in that area. Some regions in Indonesia with a reasonably high population growth rate are Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek). On the other hand, property entrepreneurs must be able to project house prices because businesses engaged in the property sector are currently very competitive. This study aims to model and compare several machine learning methods to estimate house prices in Jabodetabek based on facilities, year of construction, location, land and building area, number of rooms, condition of house construction, and legality documents. This modeling uses Multiple Linear Regression and Random Forest methods. The results of the modeling evaluation where the Random Forest model has an accuracy rate of 95.6%, while the Multiple Linear Regression model has an accuracy rate of 75%. © 2023 IEEE.

Anomalous State Sequence Modeling to Enhance Safety in Reinforcement Learning

The deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) in decision-making applications requires ensuring an appropriate level of safety and reliability, particularly in changing environments that contain a large number of unknown observations. To address this challenge, we propose a novel safe reinforcement learning (RL) approach that utilizes an anomalous state sequence to enhance RL safety. Our proposed solution Safe Reinforcement Learning with Anomalous State Sequences (AnoSeqs) consists of two stages. First, we train an agent in a non-safety-critical offline 'source' environment to collect safe state sequences. Next, we use these safe sequences to build an anomaly detection model that can detect potentially unsafe state sequences in a 'target' safety-critical environment where failures can have high costs. The estimated risk from the anomaly detection model is utilized to train a risk-averse RL policy in the target environment;this involves adjusting the reward function to penalize the agent for visiting anomalous states deemed unsafe by our anomaly model. In experiments on multiple safety-critical benchmarking environments including self-driving cars, our solution approach successfully learns safer policies and proves that sequential anomaly detection can provide an effective supervisory signal for training safety-aware RL agents. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.

People are increasingly expressing their views and opinions about a company's goods or service on social media these days. For all types of businesses and organizations, sentiment analysis in text can be used to find prospective customers and obtain quick feedback on the services or goods they provided. As a result, the organization has a better chance and opportunity to meet the needs of the consumer. Using sentiment analysis, we may extract important information from the thoughts and emotions of an organization's supporters and clients. It examines natural language content produced about services and goods. Detailed opinion mining at the aspect/feature level to serve consumer and organizational needs. In this study, three different machine learning algorithms, these are Naïve Bayes (NB), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and K- Nearest Neighbor (KNN) are used to build the proposed aspect-based sentiment analysis model from the customer comments in Amharic text which is collected from Ethio-telecom official Facebook page. The collected data is annotated into sentiment polarity and aspect-based sentiment classes by the help of five annotators. After data annotation, different preprocessing tasks were implemented. Bag of words and TF-IDF word representation techniques were used to represent each unique word to their vector representation. The experiment was conducted on those three models and the result was validated. The labeled aspects were not balanced so that a SMOTE class imbalance handling technique was employed to the dataset. Finally, SVM model trained with TF-IDF word representation technique with SMOTE oversampled dataset has achieved the highest accuracy result of 98% as compared to NB and KNN. © 2024 IEEE.

Many studies show that bearings are the most vulnerable components in low-voltage motors. While advanced bearing diagnostic systems exist, their cost can be a barrier for non-critical machinery due to the potential wait time to see a return on investment. This research explores the feasibility of using basic signal processing techniques on vibration data for bearing condition monitoring. The primary goal is to analyze benchmark data from the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) dataset and establish a baseline performance for this data-driven approach. The results suggest that, with appropriate signal processing, it's possible to achieve early detection of bearing faults, leading to more efficient time-To-fault identification with higher detection accuracies ranging from 83 % to 100 % for each method. © 2024 IEEE.

End-user feedback in social media platforms, particularly in the app stores, is increasing exponentially with each passing day. software researchers and vendors started to mine end-user feedback by proposing text analytics methods and tools to extract useful information for software evolution and maintenance. In addition, research shows that positive feedback and high-star app ratings attract more users and increase downloads. However, it emerged in the fake review market, where software vendors started incorporating fake reviews against their corresponding applications to improve overall software ratings. For this purpose, we conducted an exploratory study to understand how end-users register and write fake reviews in the Google Play Store. We curated a research data set containing 68,000 end-user comments from the Google Play Store and a fake review generator, that is, the Testimonial generator (TG). Its purpose is to understand fake reviews on these platforms and identify the common patterns potential end-users and professionals use to report fake reviews by critically analyzing the end-user feedback. We conducted a detailed survey at the University of Science and technology Bannu, Pakistan, to identify the intelligence and accuracy of crowd-users in manually identifying fake reviews. In addition, we developed a ground truth to be compared with the results obtained from the automated machine and deep learning (M&DL) classifier experiment. In the survey, 512 end-users participated and recorded their responses in identifying fake reviews. Finally, various M&DL classifiers are employed to classify and identify end-user reviews into real and fake to automate the process. Unlike humans, the M&DL classifiers performed well in automatically classifying reviews into real and fake by obtaining much higher accuracy, precision, recall, and f-measures. Entity Alignment is the task of seeking entities with the same semantics from distinct knowledge graphs (KGs). Researchers have recently proposed Graph Convolutional Network (GCN) based approaches to achieve this task. Most existing GCN-based methods embed all the relations into an identical value, making the underlying loss on the diversity of the relationship. Relation semantics of entities and relation structure have benefitted the entity alignment task in the monolingual scenarios. This paper proposes a Relation-Aware Graph Convolutional Network with a Differential Adjacency Matrix (A-REA), which exploits the relation-specific semantics and structural information of entities in the KGs to promote the entity representations. The experiments on DBP-15K and DWY-100K datasets, including three cross-lingual subsets and two cross-knowledge graph sub-datasets, reveal that our approach leads to advance in entity alignment task in both the cross-lingual and cross-knowledge KGs. Discriminating the relation shows the effective signal for entity alignment, especially for the schema heterogeneity of different KGs. © 2023 IEEE.
