Impact of Artificial Intelligence on software engineering Phases and Activities (2013–2024): A Quantitative Analysis Using Zero- Truncated Poisson Model

This paper presents the results of a quantitative analysis derived from data collected in our earlier systematic literature review, focusing on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques across various phases of software engineering (SE). Employing a Zero-Truncated Poisson (ZTP) model, we analyzed 120 selected research papers to assess the impact of AI methodologies on SE phases. The findings indicate significant improvements attributable to AI in different phases of SE. Specifically, AI techniques have been found to enhance the accuracy of the planning, requirement engineering, and development phases and improve the efficiency of the requirement engineering and design phases. Notably, AI’s integration has markedly improved the accuracy and efficiency of the requirement engineering phase, underscoring AI’s critical role in advancing SE practices. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the quantitative impact of AI on SE, providing valuable insights for practitioners and researchers in understanding AI technologies to enhance SE phases. © 2013 IEEE.

Cognitive bias is a phenomenon that has been extensively studied in stock trading and many other fields. This paper presents a framework for a Mobile Stock Trading Simulator (MSTS) that facilitates automatic investment in stocks with minimal human influence, by investigating the behavioral patterns and cognitive errors of stock market investors. The paper aims to determine whether investors' investment strategies can be improved by detecting investment threats and reducing investment errors based on investors' transaction histories. To accomplish this, we built a stock exchange simulator and implemented a decision tree to classify cognitive biases into one of six categories. By incorporating the behavioral patterns and cognitive biases of stock market investors into the MSTS's architecture, and by implementing a decision tree and stock exchange simulator, we can minimize the impact of human influence on automatic investments. © 2023 The Authors. Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) take vital role in intelligent transportation systems, but they face challenges due to dynamic network topology, impacting communication efficiency, especially with increasing active nodes. Security and privacy concerns are paramount, necessitating authentication to ensure only legitimate vehicles access the network. Secure vehicular clustering offers a solution, yet the number of clusters affects network dependability and efficiency. To tackle this, we present a secure clustering mechanism using Bat optimization algorithm, mimicking echolocation behavior to optimize clusters. We introduce an authentication technique for cluster heads to admit approved members, enhancing vehicular authentication. Simulations using MATLAB evaluate our approach, showing improved performance in end-to-end delay, overhead, and cluster head count compared to similar methods. © 2024 IEEE.

Global economic expansion facilitated by technology has led to an evolution in phishing attacks in recent years. An uptick in phishing and other sophisticated online attacks, together with an uptick in impersonation frauds, has contributed to a general uptick in fraudulent activity losses this year. To safeguard users' online activities, a more effective phishing detection mechanism is necessary, since the worldwide impact of these attacks will only grow. Using the URL and website content such photos, text, and frames, this study aimed to build a deep learning-based phishing detection system to fill this demand. When it comes to image and natural language processing, deep learning methods work wonders. Binary Learning with Phishing Detection Strategy (BLPDS) is a novel approach to efficiently detect phishing attacks introduced in this paper. To assess its efficacy, it is cross-validated with the conventional Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) method. Applying the BLPDS to big datasets allowed for a thorough experimental evaluation and comparison of its efficacy in detecting phishing web pages and attacks. The precise proof demonstrating the efficacy of the suggested system is shown in the result section. © 2024 IEEE.

A cataract is one of the most significant eye problems worldwide that does not immediately impair vision and progressively worsens over *** cataract prediction based on various imaging technologies has been addressed recently,such as smartphone apps used for remote health monitoring and eye *** recent years,advances in diagnosis,prediction,and clinical decision support using Artificial Intelligence(AI)in medicine and ophthalmology have been *** to privacy concerns,a lack of data makes applying artificial intelligence models in the medical field *** address this issue,a federated learning framework named CDFL based on a VGG16 deep neural network model is proposed in this *** study collects data from the Ocular Disease Intelligent Recognition(ODIR)database containing 5,000 patient *** significant features are extracted and normalized using the min-max normalization *** the federated learning-based technique,the VGG16 model is trained on the dataset individually after receiving model updates from two *** transferring the attributes to the global model,the suggested method trains the local *** global model subsequently improves the technique after integrating the new *** client analyses the results in three rounds to decrease the over-fitting *** experimental result shows the effectiveness of the federated learning-based technique on a Deep Neural Network(DNN),reaching a 95.28%accuracy while also providing privacy to the patient’s *** experiment demonstrated that the suggested federated learning model outperforms other traditional methods,achieving client 1 accuracy of 95.0%and client 2 accuracy of 96.0%.

The Internet of things (IoT) is getting more and more intrusive into our lives until the day comes when everything becomes connected to the Internet. Due to the limited resources and heterogeneous Internet of Things (IoT) devices, the traditional means of protection are useless and cannot be used to protect these devices. The most important security risks, their causes and the consequences of their occurrence have been listed, scheduled and categorized. The study concluded that there are real security risks that cannot be ignored, and they need to find innovative solutions to eliminate them or reduce their damage to a minimum. This paper showed the main risks addressed in previews research, and outlined the gaps in this field of technology, also producing a brief summary information about the most important solution to avoid many threats against the IoT field.

Frequently, individuals undergo specific episodes of mental health challenges throughout their lifetime. But the COVID pandemic has triggered a surge in mental health disorders arising from isolation, monotonous routines, demanding workloads, financial disparities, and disruptions to daily schedules. Furthermore, the global pandemic has induced constant anxiety and stress. Beyond the pandemic, the competition and intense pressure of the modern world impact mental health. Access to advanced mental health solutions and the necessary familiarity remain limited for most of the population. Given the integration of technology into daily life, diverse remedies, including mobile and web applications, have emerged to tackle the escalating challenge of mental health disorders. This study proposes an accessible and cost-effective approach that employs machine learning to detect stress levels and discern user emotions from journal entries and facial expressions while integrating self-journaling, video recommendations, and visual content generation to stimulate positive emotions and relieve stress.
