Cloud environments utilize availability and usage of resources as crucial components in order to produce scalability, reliability and low cost. Such resource capabilities require autonomous systems that can handle these resources dynamically in spite of fluctuating workloads and service delivery requirements. Static models of resource management suffer from scalability and inability to react on the fly and accurately predict the demand thus causing Service Level Agreement (SLA) breaches and affecting the Quality of Service (QoS) as well as energy consumption profile. Advanced and elaborative cloud workloads require an intelligent system that can analyse the temporal and spatial patterns without impacting the overall system's performance significantly. Inspired by these challenges, this research proposes a Causal Dilated Geometric Algebra Convolutional Transformer Network (CATNet) along with the Prairie-Dog Optimizer (P-DogO), referred to as CAT-DogNet to learn and predict the dynamic scalability. CATNet integrates Causal Dilated Convolutional Networks in time domain for temporal structure capturing and Geometric Algebra Transformer for spatial resource coding. P-DogO adjusts weight parameters and losses for resource allocation, enhancing them depending on a work environment. A set of comprehensive assessments demonstrate a 0.85% SLA violation rate, average response time of less than 10ms, and overall 12.3% less energy consumption than baseline methods. The system had favourable predictability rates over 99.4% for the resource demand estimate. CAT-DogN et presents a sound and agnostic architecture for autonomous resource allocation in cloud environment, which indeed extend the state of art by considering flexibility, power consumption and QoS compliance.

Efficient Byzantine-Robust Federated Learning Based on the Multi-Message Shuffle Protocol for Consumer Internet of Things

The accelerated advancement of consumer Internet of Things (CIoT) devices has resulted in their pervasive integration into the fabric of contemporary lifestyles. As these devices are capable of collecting vast quantities of data pertaining to users, they present a significant risk to the privacy and security of individuals. Federated learning is an advanced machine learning paradigm that prioritises the preservation of user data privacy and enhances security by eliminating the need for centralised data collection. As a result, it is a promising approach to address user data privacy and security concerns. However, federated learning still faces challenges such as privacy attacks, Byzantine attacks and high communication overheads. To address these challenges, we propose an efficient Byzantine-robust federated learning method based on multi-message shuffle protocol. To achieve privacy protection and Byzantine robustness, we introduce an innovative aggregation strategy inspired by the multi-message shuffle protocol for differential privacy. To improve communication efficiency, we develop an adaptive gradient compression scheme. Theoretical analysis indicates that our multi-message shuffle protocol is capable of satisfying the requisite differential privacy conditions. Compared with the state-of-the-art methods, our proposed scheme demonstrates superior convergence capabilities on the real-world dataset when approximately 40% of participants are Byzantine, achieving accuracies of 96.78%, which illustrates its strong robustness. Upon reduction of the transmitted model parameters to 1% of the original size, the proposed scheme exhibits a maximum accuracy degradation of 0.35%. which significantly reduces the communication overhead while achieving high accuracy. In addition, the scheme also achieves an accuracy of 88.73% on the Non-iid MotionSense dataset, which is superior to other schemes. © 2014 IEEE.

Trust is essential in the constantly developing environment of online social networks. The Nexus Terroism Impact and Intro Trust facilitate the communication, decision-making, and maintenance of digital communities among individuals. Trust-based Learning with Classification Principle (TLCP) is introduced in this research to improve the assessment of trust in social networks. To ascertain its efficacy, our proposed methodology undergoes a 10-fold cross-validation against the Trust Assessment Methodology (TAM). The traditional Trust Assessment Model (TAM) evaluates and regulates trust in Internet social networking. This method incorporates trust assessment factors to generate a user dependability judgment that is both discriminatory and dynamic. The Trustworthy Account Management (TAM) challenge is designed to enhance digital trust by addressing disinformation, deception, and hostile conduct. The TLCP is able to accurately evaluate trust by utilizing reputation scoring, community analysis, and user behavior metrics. Trust levels are dynamically adjusted as a result of the identification of trustworthy behavioral patterns and danger indicators by machine learning algorithms and social media data. This research examines the connections between trust management and digital interactions and suggests a general solution to alleviate specific trust evaluation issues across online social networks.

Recognizing hand-drawn sketches is a promising starting point for various applications, such as assisting artists in creating 3D environments for games or virtual environment scenes quickly and efficiently from concept arts. In addition, by understanding drawings, we can generate 3D models that can be used for further design and development. Thus, in this paper, we aim to develop a novel lightweight network that can accurately recognize sketch drawings. We propose a lightweight-yet-efficient neural network based on MobileNetV2 for sketch recognition and employ knowledge distillation to train the proposed model from EfficientNet-B4. To evaluate the accuracy of the proposed method, we collect a dataset of sketches comprising 1800 drawings in 12 categories, ranging from furniture to animals. The experimental results show that our network model achieves an accuracy of 96.7%, with 96.9% precision, 96.7% recall, and 96.7% F1-score. These results demonstrate that the proposed approach has great potential for practical sketch recognition applications, such as interior design or VR scene generation.

There has been a great deal of discussion of the challenges on privacy of Educational Professional Personal Record (EPPR). Therefore, it is required to reassess the current models, in which various parties generate, exchange and observe a huge amount of personal data with regard to EPPR. Ethereum blockchain has shown that trusted, auditable transactions are detectible using a decentralised network of nodes. In this paper, we propose a novel decentralised framework to manage EPPR using Ethereum blockchain. The framework provides the owner of the EPPR a comprehensive immutable log and accessibility to their educational records across the educational record editors and consumers. Furthermore, it provides a recommender engine to endorse skills and competencies to the education record owners and similar candidates for educational records editors and consumers. The aim of the proposed framework is to enable educational stakeholders to participate in the network as blockchain miners rewarded by pseudonymised data. Ethics in AI becomes a global topic of interest for both policymakers and academic researchers. In the last few years, various research organizations, lawyers, think tankers, and regulatory bodies get involved in developing AI ethics guidelines and principles. However, there is still debate about the implications of these principles. We conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) study to investigate the agreement on the significance of AI principles and identify the challenging factors that could negatively impact the adoption of AI ethics principles. The results reveal that the global convergence set consists of 22 ethical principles and 15 challenges. Transparency, privacy, accountability and fairness are identified as the most common AI ethics principles. Similarly, lack of ethical knowledge and vague principles are reported as the significant challenges for considering ethics in AI. The findings of this study are the preliminary inputs for proposing a maturity model that assesses the ethical capabilities of AI systems and provides best practices for further improvements. © 2022 ACM.

What distinguishes the field of artificial intelligence (AI) from others is to develop fully independent agents that learn optimal behavior, change, and evolve solely through the communication of trial and error with the surrounding environment. Reinforcement learning (RL) can be seen in multiple aspects of Machine Learning (ML), provided the environment, reward, actions, the state will be defined. Agent training in previous years is seen to only relate to robotics, games, and self-driving cars. While trying to divert the focus of researchers from the view of self-driving cars, games, robots, etc. Here, we investigated using reinforcement learning in the aspect of task completion. We deployed our architecture in an inpainting task where the agent generates the distorted or missing image content into an eminent fidelity completed the image by using reinforcement learning to influence the generative model utilized. The Generative Adversary Network (GAN) problem of not being steady and challenging to train was overwhelmed by utilizing latent space representation. The dimension is reduced compared to the distorted or corrupted image in training the GAN. Then reinforcement learning was deployed to pick the correct GAN input to get the image's latent space representation that is most suitable for the current input of the missing or distorted image region. In this paper, we also learned that the trained agent enhances the accuracy in a classification task of images with missing data. We successfully examined the classification enhancement on images missing 30%, 50%, and 70%. © 2021 IEEE.

Polyp segmentation has recently garnered significant attention, and multiple methods have been formulated to achieve commendable outcomes. However, these techniques often confront difficulty when working with the complex polyp foreground and their surrounding regions because of the nature of convolution operation. Besides, most existing methods forget to exploit the potential information from multiple decoder stages. To address this challenge, we suggest combining MetaFormer, introduced as a baseline for integrating CNN and Transformer, with UNet framework and incorporating our Multi-scale Upsampling block (MU). This simple module makes it possible to combine multi-level information by exploring multiple receptive field paths of the shallow decoder stage and then adding with the higher stage to aggregate better feature representation, which is essential in medical image segmentation. Taken all together, we propose MetaFormer Multi-scale Upsampling Network (M2UNet) for the polyp segmentation task. Extensive experiments on five benchmark datasets demonstrate that our method achieved competitive performance compared with several previous methods. © 2023, CC BY.

Evaluating the utility of a software product is necessary because it allows organizational processes to function properly and for end users to be satisfied. At this way, we decided to automate the management process in the planning, register and monitoring of activities in the development and quality areas of a technology development company. We figured out that this process has limitations due to the use of multiple tools such as software and applications that work in isolation, which complicates the orderly and systematized work and activities of the team. In this study we evaluated the utility of quality in use over a software implementation called "ITE CHECK ONE" that automated that process. In the evaluation we used five utility metrics based on the ISO/IEC 25010 and ISO/IEC 25022 standards;the artifacts used in the evaluation are available in a public link on Zenodo. The results show that the utility of the software reached 90.28% by users. We conclude that the evaluation process answers the research question and reveals characteristics of possible improvements in the evaluated software. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
