In the quickly changing world of connected cars, having strong cybersecurity is essential. To protect vehicular networks from cyber threats, this study provides an Embedded Intrusion Detection System (IDS) that has been optimized using the Cost-Sensitive Decision Forest (CSForest) optimization algorithm. To improve data usefulness and model performance, a thorough preprocessing and feature engineering process was carried out using a real vehicular GPS tracking process from ToN-IoT dataset. After evaluating several machine learning algorithms, CSForest received the best results, scoring 100% accuracy along with flawless precision, recall, and F-measure scores. Our results highlight how well the CSForest-based IDS can detect and stop possible cyberattacks in connected cars, which will improve automotive cybersecurity and create a safer driving environment for vehicular communication systems. The study also emphasizes how crucial it is to keep updating IDS models to handle the ever-changing nature of cyberattacks and maintain the dependability and resilience of vehicular communication systems in the future. The discovery has practical consequences as it can improve connected and autonomous car cybersecurity infrastructure substantially, lowering vulnerabilities and guaranteeing a safer transportation ecosystem. © 2024 IEEE.

Schizophrenia is a chronic mental disorder with distorted thinking, hallucinations, and social difficulties. Early diagnosis is vital, but current methods are limited. This research proposes a web-based application integrating machine learning, emotion recognition, and game-based elements to track symptoms and aid in early diagnosis. Interactive exercises focus on specific symptoms like cognitive evaluation, emotional analysis, and memory assessment. By combining computer science, psychology, and machine learning, the project aims to improve early detection and ultimately enhance the quality of life for affected individuals. Key components include using Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) architecture for recognizing facial and physical expressions associated with schizophrenia with an 87% accuracy rate, and utilizing Vector Regressor (SVR) with a 93% accuracy rate, along with Vision Transformer (ViT) and Custom CNN models for cognitive assessment, achieving accuracy rates of 99% and 98%, respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

The global trend in renewable energy solutions has emphasized the urgent need for accurate forecasting of solar energy production. This study examines the potential of ensemble-based learning techniques in predicting solar energy production by leveraging historical data collected from 11 solar photovoltaic installations in Calgary, Canada, spanning from September 2015 to March 2023. The dataset was carefully preprocessed to handle missing values, duplicates, and to extract meaningful features that align with the nature of time series data. A range of ML models were implemented and assessed by several forecasting evaluation metrics, including Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Mean Squared Error (MSE), and R-squared (R2). The experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of ensemble methods, particularly XGBoost and Light GBM, in solar energy forecasting. XGBoost achieved the best performance, with an MAE of 25.36, an MSE of 3599.66, and R2 of 0.957, outperforming models such as Random Forest and Neural Networks. The practical implications of these findings suggest that accurate solar energy forecasting can significantly enhance operational planning and optimize energy management in solar power plants, contributing to more reliable and efficient renewable energy systems. © 2024 IEEE.

The Message Passing Interface (MPI) is a widely accepted standard for parallel computing on distributed ***, MPI implementations can contain defects that impact the reliability and performance of parallelapplications. Detecting and correcting these defects is crucial, yet there is a lack of published models specificallydesigned for correctingMPI defects. To address this, we propose a model for detecting and correcting MPI defects(DC_MPI), which aims to detect and correct defects in various types of MPI communication, including blockingpoint-to-point (BPTP), nonblocking point-to-point (NBPTP), and collective communication (CC). The defectsaddressed by the DC_MPI model include illegal MPI calls, deadlocks (DL), race conditions (RC), and messagemismatches (MM). To assess the effectiveness of the DC_MPI model, we performed experiments on a datasetconsisting of 40 MPI codes. The results indicate that the model achieved a detection rate of 37 out of 40 codes,resulting in an overall detection accuracy of 92.5%. Additionally, the execution duration of the DC_MPI modelranged from 0.81 to 1.36 s. These findings show that the DC_MPI model is useful in detecting and correctingdefects in MPI implementations, thereby enhancing the reliability and performance of parallel applications. TheDC_MPImodel fills an important research gap and provides a valuable tool for improving the quality ofMPI-basedparallel computing systems.

Fish farmers operating at Sirindhorn Dam in Ubon Ratchathani have faced significant challenges, including high mortality rates attributable to unstable weather conditions that compromise water quality. To tackle these issues, the Internet of Things has emerged as a tool to enhance aquaculture management. This research seeks to develop a prototype water quality monitoring system using LoRa technology to facilitate data transmission between sensor nodes in a peer-to-peer configuration. The development and testing of the system demonstrate its ability to accurately monitor key water quality parameters, including dissolved oxygen, pH, and water temperature, while allowing for remote data transmission. This research involved a sample group of five program development experts and 15 general users, with various tools employed for system efficiency assessment. A statistical analysis including the mean and standard deviation was performed to evaluate performance. The findings reveal a high overall efficiency assessment, with an average score of 4.43. © 2024 IEEE.

Wireless Capsule Endoscopy (WCE) emerged as an innovative and patient-centric approach for non-invasive and painless examination of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It serves as a pivotal tool in helping medical practitioners in the early detection of anomalies within the intricate domain of the human GI tract. The automated identification of aberrations assumes paramount significance, contributing not only to temporal efficiency but also to timely diagnosis. Within the realm of academic literature, a plethora of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methodologies have been proposed to effectuate the automatic classification, segmentation, and synthesis of anomalies inherent in WCE images. This scholarly endeavor undertakes a comprehensive and meticulous survey, elucidating the spectrum of anomaly classification, summarization, and detection techniques harnessed for computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) in the context of WCE images. The survey begins by delineating the methodologies underpinning WCE image classification and video processing. Subsequently, an exhaustive evaluation of techniques for analyzing WCE images is furnished, accompanied by an in-depth exploration of pertinent surveys, in addition to a judicious assessment of their merits and demerits. Furthermore, this study undertakes a rigorous evaluation of prevailing datasets utilized to benchmark the efficacy of various WCE techniques. This study investigates the impact of unexpected stimuli on participants’ stress levels during human-robot interactions (HRI). We designed an experiment, where a cobot performs writing tasks, as well as some unexpected actions, intended to surprise the human observer. During this experiment, we are continuously monitoring physiological responses through Electrodermal Activity (EDA) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) sensors. Our goal was to capture the relationship between surprising actions by the cobot and indicators of change in the human stress levels. We employed time series classification techniques, namely ROCKET, Shapelet Transform and WEASEL, along with Support Vector Machine (SVM) analysis on temporal segments. This approach enabled us to develop a binary classification model on stress levels. Our research contributes to the design of AI systems that can detect changes in the stress levels of humans who interact with cobots that perform unexpected actions. Thus, we work towards the improvement of safety protocols in HRI. © 2024 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

The Internet of things (IoT) is getting more and more intrusive into our lives until the day comes when everything becomes connected to the Internet. Due to the limited resources and heterogeneous Internet of Things (IoT) devices, the traditional means of protection are useless and cannot be used to protect these devices. The most important security risks, their causes and the consequences of their occurrence have been listed, scheduled and categorized. The study concluded that there are real security risks that cannot be ignored, and they need to find innovative solutions to eliminate them or reduce their damage to a minimum. This paper showed the main risks addressed in previews research, and outlined the gaps in this field of technology, also producing a brief summary information about the most important solution to avoid many threats against the IoT field. © 2023 IEEE.

Preservation of the crops depends on early and accurate detection of pests on crops as they cause several diseases decreasing crop production and quality. Several deep-learning techniques have been applied to overcome the issue of pest detection on crops. We have developed the YOLOCSP-PEST model for Pest localization and classification. With the Cross Stage Partial Network (CSPNET) backbone, the proposed model is a modified version of You Only Look Once Version 7 (YOLOv7) that is intended primarily for pest localization and classification. Our proposed model gives exceptionally good results under conditions that are very challenging for any other comparable models especially conditions where we have issues with the luminance and the orientation of the images. It helps farmers working out on their crops in distant areas to determine any infestation quickly and accurately on their crops which helps in the quality and quantity of the production yield. The model has been trained and tested on 2 datasets namely the IP102 data set and a local crop data set on both of which it has shown exceptional results. It gave us a mean average precision (mAP) of 88.40% along with a precision of 85.55% and a recall of 84.25% on the IP102 dataset meanwhile giving a mAP of 97.18% on the local data set along with a recall of 94.88% and a precision of 97.50%. These findings demonstrate that the proposed model is very effective in detecting real-life scenarios and can help in the production of crops improving the yield quality and quantity at the same time.
