The requirements of optimizing path planning for the autonomous robot are in high demand in such industrial communities, especially in manufacturing and caring social support. The application of meta-heuristic methods in autonomous problems is considered because of their adaptivity and robustness. Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) is one of the researchers’ approaches because of its effectiveness in the ant community. However, some constraints are making this method less productive. Therefore, this paper is to generate a modified ACO combined with Fuzzy logic (ACOFL) to minimize its drawbacks and maximize the robustness of path planning. This study presents the role of ACO algorithms in Path Planning, especially in the complex aspect, through the theoretical background of ACO and the other combination with other algorithms. The improved mathematics model evaluation demonstrates the upgrade steps in the path-finding process. Simulation results shows that the modified ACO algorithm is effective for complex environment compare to standard ACO algorithm. Moreover, the comparison results are presented in this paper between the standard ACO and modified ACO algorithm.

Functional hardware verification is one of the most challenging areas in the hardware design cycle. With the increase in the complexity and size of the design, the time needed for verification becomes the largest part of the total design time. The most recent technique in practical verification is constrained random simulation. This method needs a solver to produce random input stimuli that satisfies a pre-defined set of input constraints. The efficiency of the overall verification process depends critically on the speed of the constraints solver and the distribution of the generated solutions. In this paper, we propose hardware acceleration for RTL constraints solver integrated with SystemVerilog. The solver is based on Markov Chains Monte Carlo methods. © VDE VERLAG GMBH.

In gamma ray imaging for nuclear medicine, coded aperture is used to improve sensitivity. one of the main reconstructing methods is inverse filtering (deconvolution), where the recorded image is cross-correlated with periodic inverse filter of coded array. The reconstruction is free of coding noise for arbitrary array. However, amplification of quantum noise affect the reconstructed image. Although it is improved by Wiener filtering, the major problem is small terms in the spectral distribution of coded masks. Statistically and experimentally pinhole arrays have at least one term which is zero, resulting unacceptably noisy reconstruction. In our previous research we presented new approach of variable coded aperture (VCA) design for far and near field imaging applications [1–4]. The imaging system is based on time multiplexing method using variable multi pinhole array. The unique variable design enables to overcome the spatial frequencies cutoff and small terms in the Fourier transform exists in static multi pinhole array. The overall pinholes positions are designed to avoid spatial frequencies loss. However, traces of duplications can still be detected in reconstruction using Wiener filtering. Furthermore, since coded aperture blocks most of the photons that enter the detector, the dynamic range of the image is limited, thus leading to low contrast image and inadequate colors gamut.

Managing withdrawal from crystal metham-phetamine is challenging due to limitations in existing wearable technology, such as single sensor setups and accuracy issues. This research proposes a dual-sensor system that combines ankle and wrist sensors, enhanced by a Kalman filter and sensor fusion techniques to improve data precision and responsiveness. Data quality was enhanced using techniques like Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) and adding Gaussian noise, and developed advanced pattern recognition abilities using Gramian Angular Field (GAF) transformations. The use of these transformations through Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and ConvLSTM significantly enhances the ability to detect withdrawal symptoms. The sophisticated identification methods integrated into a smartphone app built with Flutter and hosted on a FastAPI backend enable greater support for individuals recovering from drug use disorders.

Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is one of the deep learning architectures that is very effective for handling images. CNN is able to automatically extract important features from images, making it very suitable for various image processing tasks such as classification, object detection, and segmentation. However, even though CNN has great capabilities, one important thing to note is the amount of data. A considerable amount of data is needed for the CNN model to work optimally and avoid overfitting. To handle this problem, a synthetic data augmentation process is used using the Deep Convolutional Generative Adversarial Network (DCGAN) method. The generator network contained in the DCGAN model has a latent space dimension input whose value can vary. The size of the latent space dimension is very important in enabling data or image reconstruction during the training process. This study tested latent space dimension values on a corn plant dataset totaling 9159. The latent space values used in this experiment were 64, 100, and 128. In addition, this study also tested different batch sizes, namely 64 and 128. The model was evaluated using Fre'chet Inception Distance (FID) and Inception Score (IS). From the evaluation results, the best score on FID was 0.018001 and IS 1.239421. The greater the latent space value, the more realistic and clear the image results will be. Likewise, the smaller the batch size value, the more realistic and clear the image results.

Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) architecture, supported by various high-performance computing platforms, efficiently utilizes data-level parallelism. SIMD model is used in traditional CPUs, dedicated vector systems, and accelerators such as GPUs, vector extensions, and Xeon Phi. It provides performance throughput in computation-intensive and data-parallel applications. Despite the similarity of data-processing principles between these architectures, porting various programming models between the reviewed platforms is challenging. Furthermore, enhancing the programmability of these architectures is an important feature for utilizing their emerging computing power, and simplifying programming complexity. This paper reviews the basic principles of optimization techniques to run asynchronous Multiple Instruction Multiple Data (MIMD) on SIMD accelerators. It also surveys several GPU programming paradigms and application programming interfaces (API) and classifies these frameworks into different groups based on their criteria. In addition, a review of studies that performed a comparison of collaborative execution of GPUs with CPUs and XeonPhi is presented in this paper. It is believed that this study will be beneficial for developers and researchers in the field of computer architecture and parallel computing-intensive scientific applications, specifically for early-stage high-performance computing researchers to obtain a brief of performance optimization opportunities as well as challenges of existing SIMD platforms. © 2023, The Authors. We study the optimal scheduling of graph states in measurement-based quantum computation, establishing an equivalence between measurement schedules and path decompositions of graphs. We define the spatial cost of a measurement schedule based on the number of simultaneously active qubits and prove that an optimal measurement schedule corresponds to a path decomposition of minimal width. Our analysis shows that approximating the spatial cost of a graph is NP-hard, while for graphs with bounded spatial cost, we establish an efficient algorithm for computing an optimal measurement schedule. Heuristic algorithms are used to solve complex computational problems quickly in various computer applications. Such algorithms use heuristic functions that rank the search alternatives instead of a full enumeration of possible variants. The algorithm selects, at each iteration, an alternative with the best value for the heuristics. In this paper, we investigate the complex computational problem of finding highly nonlinear substitutions (S-boxes) in the space of 8-bit permutations. The generation of S-boxes is an important field of research, since nonlinear substitutions are widely used in various cryptographic applications. For instance, S-boxes in symmetric ciphers are responsible for cryptographic strength to linear, differential, algebraic, and other types of cryptanalysis. We propose new heuristics in the form of a cost function, calculated with the Walsh-Hadamard transform. We use the Hill Climbing Algorithm to find highly nonlinear substitutions. Our experiments demonstrate that the new heuristics give good results – it takes about 80,000 iterations of the algorithm to generate 8-bit S-boxes with a nonlinearity of 104. For the optimized parameters, the number of iterations of the algorithm is comparable to the best known results, which confirms the significance and value of the research. © The Author(s).
