Over the past few decades, mortality rates associated with air quality pollution have risen in numerous countries around the globe. This pollution stems from different factors such as meteorological conditions, human activities from urban industrialization, vehicular emission, and so on. Air pollution constituents such as NO2, CO, SO, and coarse and fine particulate matter for different locations have been analyzed to learn both correlation and inter-dependency for long and short terms. However, many of these studies overlook datasets collected using low-cost tools and equipment. Most of the time, datasets of this nature are marred with inconsistencies and gaps at irregular intervals. This may render the air pollutant data unsuitable. In order to test the suitability of machine learning algorithms on such dataset, this study conducts a time-series forecast analysis using the prophet algorithm. Two additional models including linear regressor and random forest regressor are trained and tested on the same dataset and a comparative analysis of the three models is performed. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

The rapid population growth results in a crucial problem in the early detection of diseases inmedical *** all the cancers unveiled,breast cancer is considered the second most severe ***,an exponential rising in death cases incurred by breast cancer is expected due to the rapid population growth and the lack of resources required for performing medical *** recent advances in machine learning could help medical staff in diagnosing diseases as they offer effective,reliable,and rapid responses,which could help in decreasing the death *** this paper,we propose a new algorithm for feature selection based on a hybrid between powerful and recently emerged optimizers,namely,guided whale and dipper throated *** proposed algorithm is evaluated using four publicly available breast cancer *** evaluation results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach from the accuracy and speed *** prove the superiority of the proposed algorithm,a set of competing feature selection algorithms were incorporated into the conducted *** addition,a group of statistical analysis experiments was conducted to emphasize the superiority and stability of the proposed *** best-achieved breast cancer prediction average accuracy based on the proposed algorithm is 99.453%.This result is achieved in an average time of 3.6725 s,the best result among all the competing approaches utilized in the experiments.

The generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools based on Large Language Models (LLMs) use billions of parameters to extensively analyse large datasets and extract critical information such as context, specific details, identifying information, use this information in the training process, and generate responses for the requested queries. The extracted data also contain sensitive information, seriously threatening user privacy and reluctance to use such tools. This article proposes the conceptual model called PrivChatGPT, a privacy-preserving model for LLMs consisting of two main components, that is, preserving user privacy during the data curation/pre-processing and preserving private context and the private training process for large-scale data. To demonstrate the applicability of PrivChatGPT, it is shown how a private mechanism could be integrated into the existing model for training LLMs to protect user privacy;specifically, differential privacy and private training using Reinforcement Learning (RL) were employed. The privacy level probabilities are associated with the document contents, including the private contextual information, and with metadata, which is used to evaluate the disclosure probability loss for an individual's private information. The privacy loss is measured and the measure of uncertainty or randomness is evaluated using entropy once differential privacy is applied. It recursively evaluates the level of privacy guarantees and the uncertainty of public databases and resources during each update when new information is added for training purposes. To critically evaluate the use of differential privacy for private LLMs, other mechanisms were hypothetically compared such as Blockchain, private information retrieval, randomisation, obfuscation, anonymisation, and the use of Tor for various performance measures such as the model performance and accuracy, computational complexity, privacy vs. utility, training latency, vulnerability to attacks, and

In this communication revolution era, visible light communication (VLC) is the optimum efficacious answer to the increased request for high-speed data transmission with reduced cost, besides the illumination. This technology is considered the best promising candidate for indoor positioning due to its ability to attain higher positioning accuracy than other technologies, alongside its distinct advantages. However, the existing techniques that had been applied in an indoor positioning system (IPS) based on VLC focused on the aspect of accuracy but neglected the aspects of cost and complexity. This paper proposes a new technique for positioning, namely complementary and supplementary angles based on received signal strength (CSA-RSS). The positioning error performance of the system is examined based on the single light-emitting diode (LED) and different positions of the photodiode (PD). The results demonstrate the improved accuracy and prove the effectiveness of the newly proposed technique where the average error is 3.2 cm in 80% of the examined positions and the maximum average positioning error is 4.2 cm. Moreover, the proposed approach has been proven to increase system efficiency which acts as a suitable VLC design for indoor positioning performance, avoiding weak signals and poor accuracy. © 2022 IEEE.

Brain-computer Interface (BCI) systems are relatively new technologies that could play a significant role in aiding the recovery of impaired activities resulting from neuromuscular disabilities in affected individuals. Accurate recognition and classification of motor imagery in BCI systems present a challenge, leading to extensive research in recent years aimed at improving the accuracy of these systems. In this study, a combination of the Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) method and a multi-layer Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is employed. Initially, the signal is decomposed into Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMFs) using EMD, and all IMFs across all trials are analyzed to select the best ones, which are then fed into the CNN as inputs. Additionally, the study incorporates the fusion of three CNN networks, each corresponding to a different IMF. The features extracted from these networks are combined and used to train an SVM classifier. The proposed method achieved an accuracy of 86.1% on the BCI-2a 2008 dataset, outperforming other state-of-the-art approaches. ©2024 IEEE.

Digital signal processing (DSP) is used in computer processing to conduct different signal-processing tasks. The DSPs are used in the series numbers representing a continuous variable in a domain such as time, area, or frequency. The multiply-accumulate (MAC) unit is crucial in various DSP applications, including convolution, discrete cosine transform (DCT), Fourier Transform, etc. Thus, all DSPs contain a critical MAC unit in signal processing. The MAC unit conducts multiplication and accumulation operations for continuous and complicated DSP application processes. On the other hand, in the MAC structure, the stability of the circuit and the occupied area pose some significant challenges. However, high-performance quantum technology can easily overcome all the previous shortcomings. Hence, this paper suggests an efficient MAC for DSP applications using a Vedic multiplier, half adder, and accumulator based on quantum technology. All the proposed structures have used a single-layer layout without rotated cells. The suggested architecture is designed and validated based on the QCADesigner 2.0.3 tool. Indonesia's tourism sector, a cornerstone of its economy, has seen significant growth with both domestic and international tourists, drawn by its diverse landscapes and cultural sites. In 2022, the country welcomed around 10 million international visitors, indicating the industry's potential. In this context, employing artificial intelligence for personalized travel recommendations is crucial. This study proposes an innovative approach, converting tourism data into a bipartite format focused on the user-place relationship. We introduce the Enhanced Graph Convolutional Neural Network (Enhanced GCN), tailored for the tourism sector's complexities. Compared to the traditional Graph Convolutional Network (GCN), the Enhanced GCN shows superior predictive accuracy, reducing the Mean Squared Error (MSE) to 2.38. This advance represents a significant step in providing more accurate, customized travel suggestions. However, the current MSE suggests room for further improvement. Future research will aim to refine the Enhanced GCN, enhancing its ability to meet and predict tourists' needs in Indonesia's dynamic tourism environment. Ultimately, the goal is to use artificial intelligence to transform how visitors experience Indonesia's cultural and natural offerings, thereby bolstering the tourism industry's growth.. © 2023 IEEE.

Skin cancer, which stands as the most prevalent form of human malignancy, is primarily identified through visual examination. The procedure for identifying skin lesions typically starts with an initial clinical assessment, which might be followed by dermoscopic analysis, a biopsy, and a subsequent histopathological checkup. Image-based Skin lesion classification presents a significant challenge due to the subtle and intricate variations in their appearance. Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) show promising results in managing diverse and intricate tasks involving a wide array of finely detailed object categories. Skin lesions Classification is shown in this work initially using a six-layered CNN performed on the skin cancer dataset to classify seven classes of lesions with 10015 images. Exploratory data analysis of the dataset is performed to identify any outliers and to verify the balance of samples in each class. It was observed after 50 epochs, the training accuracy was 98.03% and the testing accuracy was 67.40%. To avoid the overfitting observed in the CNN approach, the pre-trained transfer learning models, Resnet50 and Densenet121 were finetuned with data augmentation to handle the imbalance of samples present in seven classes. The results obtained prove that the Densenet121 model achieves high performance compared with the other Resnet50 model after augmentation. © 2024 IEEE.
