This paper discusses the reduction of background noise in an industrial environment to extend *** the Industry 4.0 era,the mass development of voice control(speech recognition)in various industrial applications is possible,especially as related to augmented reality(such as hands-free control via voice commands).As Industry 4.0 relies heavily on radiofrequency technologies,some brief insight into this problem is provided,including the Internet of things(IoT)and 5G *** study was carried out in cooperation with the industrial partner Brose CZ spol.s.r.o.,where sound recordings were made to produce a *** experimental environment comprised three workplaces with background noise above 100 dB,consisting of a laser/magnetic welder and a press.A virtual device was developed from a given dataset in order to test selected commands from a commercial speech recognizer from *** tested a hybrid algorithm for noise reduction and its impact on voice command recognition *** virtual devices,the study was carried out on large speakers with 20 participants(10 men and 10 women).The experiments included a large number of repetitions(100 times for each command under different noise conditions).Statistical results confirmed the efficiency of the tested *** welding environment efficiency was 27%before applied filtering,76%using the least mean square(LMS)algorithm,and 79%using LMS+independent component analysis(ICA).Magnetic welding environment efficiency was 24%before applied filtering,70%with LMS,and 75%with LMS+*** workplace environment efficiency showed no success before applied filtering,was 52%with LMS,and was 54%with LMS+ICA.

This study explored two truffle species, Tirmania spp. and Terfezia claveryi, collected from five newly identified locations in Iraq, focusing on their nutritional and medicinal value. Microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), optimized via response surface methodology (RSM), was employed to enhance the recovery of antioxidant compounds using solvents with varying polarity indices (PI: 0.10–10.2) and microwave power settings. Optimal conditions for Tirmania spp. involved an ethanol–water mixture (PI 8.4) at 150 W, yielding 47.3 % extract, 121.3 mg gallic acid equivalents per gram dry weight (mg GAE/g) of total phenolics, 79.2 mg quercetin equivalents per gram dry weight (mg Qrc/g) of flavonoids, and 24.2 mg Trolox equivalents per liter (mg Trolox/L) of antioxidant capacity measured by cupric ion reducing antioxidant capacity (CUPRAC) assay. Free radical scavenging activity was assessed using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH; IC 50 : 78.2 µg/mL) and 2,2′-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS; IC 50 : 23.3 µg/mL) assays. Activation energy analysis highlighted the solvent’s efficiency in balancing diffusion and energy transfer. Furthermore, LC-MS/MS analysis revealed that fumaric acid and vanillic acid were the major compounds, with Tirmania spp. generally exhibiting higher concentrations than Terfezia claveryi . Principal component analysis and hierarchical clustering revealed distinct bioactive profiles among samples. Antibacterial activity, assessed via the agar well diffusion method, demonstrated notable inhibition against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. These results emphasize the critical role of extraction parameters in enhancing the antioxidant and antibacterial potential of truffles for food and pharmaceutical applications.

The current patient registration and operating procedure in medical centers are time-consuming and somehow tiresome for patients and their families. Normally, patients have to visit the medical center or hospital to register, they have to bring their medical records, and wait to be called by the medical staff. The situation becomes worse when the patients are kids because they cannot wait for long time and their parents do not have enough time to wait for long time. In view of these problems, several appointment applications are proposed to enhance the registration systems and reduce the waiting time. However, these efforts are still face some drawbacks and limitations. In this paper, we have designed an Android-based mobile application to create appointments with doctors in medical clinics and store the patient's health records. This mobile application is integrated with an interactive website and a comprehensive database to enable the doctors to handle vaccinations appointment, maintain and retrieve patients' medical records. The managers also can efficiently create, manage and admin the clinic's work progress. This mobile application will enhance appointment scheduling and improve the quality of healthcare. In addition, the application can reduce the time and effort consumed to perform the vaccinations appointment process and taking the vaccinations on time. © 2021 IEEE.

Detecting earthquake-induced landslides in remote sensing images is challenging due to the varying sizes of landslides, uneven distribution, and the prevalence of small targets. This study proposes a novel approach, the TLSTMF-YOLO model, which combines a C3-Swin-Transformer and multiscale feature fusion techniques to enhance detection accuracy and efficiency. Key innovations include the use of a convolutional block attention module (CBAM) to improve feature representation, and a bidirectional feature pyramid network (BiFPN) for optimized cross-scale feature fusion. To address data scarcity, a transfer learning strategy is applied, supported by an AdamW optimizer and cosine learning rate strategy for faster convergence. Evaluations on the Jiuzhaigou and Luding landslide datasets demonstrate the model's effectiveness, achieving precision, recall, and mean average precision (mAP)@0.5 of 95.7%, 89.9%, and 90.5% on the Jiuzhaigou dataset, and 96.0%, 90.9%, and 94.5% on the Luding dataset, respectively. In addition, the model processes frames efficiently, with times of 6.61 and 12.2 ms on the two datasets. These results confirm the model's capability for accurate and efficient landslide detection, highlighting its potential for real-world applications. © 1980-2012 IEEE.

This paper analyzes some basic issues involving the application of discontinuous control techniques for controlling fractional order systems (FOS). With reference to a simple class of SISO perturbed processes, we compare the performance of two distinct approaches, namely the "fractional sliding manifold" (FSM) approach, and the "fractional dynamic input extension" (FDIE) approach. The latter, which is the main new contribution of this paper, is shown to provide for the finite time convergence property of the systems' state. Remarkably, this approach also attenuates the chattering phenomenon by leading to a continuous, although obviously non-smooth, control action. The performance of the two methodologies under investigation are determined by means of Lyapunov approach. Additionally, we derive two new results involving the application of second-order sliding mode control techniques in the context of SISO FOS, and the application of the unit-vector methodology for controlling uncertain multivariable FOS. The presented analysis is supported by simulation results. © 2012 IEEE.

In image processing measuring and valuing a distance between two points is important. The obtained values can be used for determining whether two points are close to each other or to define weights for a filter concentrated around a central element. While there are measures of proximity, neither of them was defined with a such use in mind, mostly concentrating on problem of an optimization. The idea is to turn the Euclidean distance between two points into a measure of how close (or far) two points are from each other, basing on two given ranges. The function was mostly obtained by a theoretical analysis supported with a mathematical calculation and examples of use. As it was proven in the work, the obtained function can be implemented not only to measure proximity, but also as a flexible kernel for image filters, allowing for blurring or edge-detection.

The equations describe the behavior of steady state flow in porous medium generally results in elliptic partial differential equations with coefficient represents the permeability of the medium. This article presents the extension of mortar mixed method for second order nonlinear elliptic equations that describes flow in porous media. The domain is decomposed into non-overlapping regions with each partitioned independently. The grids on subdomains are allowed to be non-matching across the subdomains internal boundaries. The fixed point argument (FPA) is employed to establish the existence and uniqueness of discrete problem, and optimal order error estimates are provided for approximations. The computational results are given to validate the theory. © 2025 The Author(s)

BACKGROUND: Considering the high prevalence of mental health conditions among young people and the technological advancements of artificial intelligence (AI)-based approaches in health services, mobile health (mHealth) apps for mental health are a promising way for low-threshold and large-scale mental health promotion, prevention, and intervention strategies, especially for young people. However, insufficient evidence on health-promoting effects and deficient user-centric designs emphasize the necessity for participatory methods in the interventions' development processes. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore young people's everyday experiences using an AI-based mHealth app for mental health promotion based on ecological momentary assessments and ecological momentary interventions. Our analysis of qualitative data focused on exploring young people's use patterns in daily life and mental health-promoting effects. METHODS: We conducted problem-centered interviews and focus groups with a subsample of 27 young people aged 14 to 25 years, who were among the participants of 2 microrandomized trials testing and evaluating an AI-based mHealth app (AI4U training). Our study used a participatory approach, with "co- and peer researchers" from the dialogue population actively engaged in research processes and data analysis. Structural content analysis guided the qualitative analysis. RESULTS: Participants reported enhanced emotional self-awareness and regulation in daily life through the ecological momentary assessments and ecological momentary interventions. Young people appreciated the AI4U training for managing emotions and stress. They had no trust issues regarding disclosing their mental health via the AI4U training in daily life. Some faced challenges integrating it into their daily routines and highlighted the value of autonomy in use decision-making processes. CONCLUSIONS: Our findings reveal that young people benefited from enhanced emotional awareness and management

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of partial substitution of wheat flour by voandzou flour and spirulina powder on the biological properties of biscuits. Thus, five biscuit formulations were produced: standard biscuit, voandzou biscuit (30 %), spirulina biscuit (4 %), spirulina (4 %)+Voandzou (26 and 30 %) biscuits. The chemical composition of these biscuits was evaluated and wistar rats (n = 5/group) were fed with them for 28 days. Protein efficiency ratios (PER and NPER), real (TD) and apparent (AD) digestibility, haematological parameters and in vivo stress were assessed. Biscuit protein ranged from 8.18 to 17.16 %;sugar 62.75–67.21 %, fat 10.12–14.79 %, ash 3.03–4.35 %. Like spirulina powder (4 %), the incorporation of voandzou flour (30 and 26 %) significantly (p < 0.05) increased protein, ash and total phenolic compound content (2.21 to 3.33 mg/100 g DM). Reductions of 3.46 % to 9.75 % in carbohydrates were noted with wheat substitution. By contrast, the latter increased (p < 0.05) the protein digestibility parameters of the biscuits: PER (3.01 to 4.68 g);NPER (1.73 to 2.26 g);TD (82.02 to 91.45 %) and AD (70.11 to 81.33 %). Voandzou and spirulina biscuits improved blood counts in rats. The red blood cell counts (RBC) of the rats varied between 8.12–9.22 × 106/mm³;13.43–14.98 g/dL for haemoglobin and 46.03–57.12 % for haematocrit levels. The correlations between the levels of MDA-Tannins (r=-0.84, p < 0.05) and total MDA-Phenols (r=-0.78, p < 0.05) show that the phenolic compounds found in biscuits inhibit in vivo lipid oxidation in rats. © 2025
