An article is based on comparing of data processing within PLC and MCU with using Cloud platforms. The last advances in computation and communication technologies are taking shape in the form of IoT (Internet of Things), M2M (Machine to Machine) technology, Industry 4.0 and Cyber Physical Systems. Internet of Things connects an enormous number of devices. Devices within IoT need small number of sensors and control data, but with numerous messages. Today Cloud services work with the volume of these data and support large scale IoT systems. In this paper we would like to represent a comparison of solutions Industrial and Commercial IoT. This study examines the segregation and precipitation kinetics in W-X binary alloys (X= Ti, Ag, and Ta). Advanced transmission electron microscopy techniques and atomistic modeling are employed for this comprehensive study. Following the high temperature annealing of the samples, distinct behaviors are observed for each alloying element. In the W-Ti alloy, depleted/enriched GBs with solutes are present. Ti-rich clusters form at the GBs in the fcc phase, exhibiting varying cluster sizes. On the other hand, Ag-rich clusters form within the grain interior, which is particularly pronounced at GBs. Unlike Ti and Ag, no Ta clusters observed however, regions within the grain interior and GBs appear depleted in W, suggesting the presence of enriched Ta segregants. Additionally, the W-Ta alloy exhibits notably less grain growth compared to other W alloys. The Metropolis Monte Carlo (MMC) method and density function theory (DFT) simulations are employed to support and explain these findings. The MMC results indicate that different solutes have varying tendencies to segregate or precipitate at different symmetrical tilt GBs. The DFT studies confirm that the character of the GBs significantly influences both the solute-vacancy binding and solute migration barrier. Furthermore, the analysis of the Projected Density of States (PDOS) and charge transfer between initial and transition states in the bulk material and at GBs reveals a strong correlation between the activation energy, the amount of charge transfer, and the nature of bonding. Among the solutes investigated in this study, Ta shows promise as a dopant in W for nuclear applications. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The impact of irrational behaviours in the optional prisoner’s dilemma with game-environment feedback

In the optional prisoner’s dilemma (OPD), players can choose to cooperate and defect as usual, but can also abstain as a third possible strategy. This strategy models the players’ participation in the game and is a relevant aspect in many settings, e.g. social networks or opinion dynamics where abstention is an option during an election. In this paper, we provide a formulation of the OPD where we consider irrational behaviours in the population inspired by prospect theory. Prospect theory has gained increasing popularity in recent times thanks to its ability to capture aspects such as reference dependence or loss aversion which are common in human behaviour. This element is original in our formulation of the game and is incorporated in our framework through pairwise comparison dynamics. Recently, the impact of the environment has been studied in the form of feedback on the population dynamics. Another element of novelty in our work is the extension of the game-environment feedback to the OPD in two forms of dynamics, the replicator and the pairwise comparison. The contribution of this paper is threefold. First, we propose a modelling framework where prospect theory is used to capture irrational behaviours in an evolutionary game with game-environment feedback. Second, we carry out the stability analysis of the system equilibria and discuss the oscillating behaviours arising from the game-environment feedback. Finally, we extend our previous results to the OPD and we discuss the main differences between the model resulting from the replicator dynamics and the one resulting from the pairwise comparison dynamics. © 2021, CC BY.

MENAHIA (Middle East and North African Health Informatics Association) is the International Medical Informatics Association chapter dedicated to the Middle East and North Africa region. This region is rapidly growing in terms of the use of health informatics or what has been recently coined digital health. Human health is highly affected by the health of the environment, animal health, food, nutrition, climate change, and many other factors that are beyond the biological or genetic structure of human beings. The impact of animal health and the health of the environment on people's health is an old phenomenon but recent reemerging and appearance of diseases have clearly demonstrated the link between these. The Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) that almost all of us have been suffering from is an example of this. A number of countries in the region have already shown the depth and the work that they do to integrate the concept of 'One Health' in the public health surveillance system as they have described the work that has been done to capture data from databases other than those dealing with human beings. The examples that were provided to monitor the health of animals, agriculture, environmental health, climate change, and man-made and natural disasters are just examples of what countries have been registering in their databases and informing the health authorities of these changes and emerging trends. © The Author(s) 2023.

In this study, CoCr layered double hydroxide material (CoCr-LDH) was prepared and used as an effective catalyst for peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation to degrade organics in water. The prepared CoCr-LDH material had a crystalline structure and relatively porous structure, as determined by various surface analyses. In Rhodamine B (RhB) removal, the most outstanding PMS activation ability belongs to the material with a Co:Cr molar ratio of 2:1. The removal of RhB follows pseudo-first-order kinetics (R2 > 0.99) with an activation energy of 38.23 kJ/mol and efficiency of 98% after 7 min of treatment, and the total organic carbon of the solution reduced 47.2% after 10 min. The activation and oxidation mechanisms were proposed and the RhB degradation pathways were suggested with the key contribution of O2•- and 1O2. Notably, CoCr-LDH can activate PMS over a wide pH range of 4 – 9, and apply to a wide range of organic pollutants and aqueous environments. The material has high stability and good recovery, which can be reused for 5 cycles with a stable efficiency of above 88%, suggesting a high potential for practical recalcitrant water treatment via PMS activation by heterogeneous catalysts. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

When designing and developing technical diagnostic tools, it is necessary to take into account the peculiarities of their interaction with the study object. The non-linear dependence of biological objects electrophysical parameters on the applied electrical energy leads to the uncertainties of the introduced perturbation. As a result, poor reproducibility of biological objects measuring the electrophysical parameters results is observed. For this reason, technical means of measurement in the assessment of electrophysical parameters of biological objects have not been widely used. The study is aimed at developing systems, methods and algorithms that can be used to assess the biological objects electrical parameters in medical electronic devices. A feature of these devices is the impact on the load in a given mode. The use of such technical measuring instruments will improve the metrological parameters of measuring systems, increase the reproducibility and reliability of the results obtained. The correct interpretation of the obtained results allows you obtaining qualitatively new measuring information in medicine. The obtained results of the study contribute to the development of means for diagnosing the body condition and physiotherapeutic effects.

Breast cancer is one of the most common causes of death among women worldwide. Early detection helps in reducing the number of deaths. Automated 3D Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) is a newer approach for breast screening, which has many advantages over handheld mammography such as safety, speed, and higher detection rate of breast cancer. Tumor detection, segmentation, and classification are key components in the analysis of medical images, especially challenging in the context of 3D ABUS due to the significant variability in tumor size and shape, unclear tumor boundaries, and a low signal-to-noise ratio. The lack of publicly accessible, well-labeled ABUS datasets further hinders the advancement of systems for breast tumor analysis. Addressing this gap, we have organized the inaugural Tumor Detection, Segmentation, and Classification Challenge on Automated 3D Breast Ultrasound 2023 (TDSC-ABUS2023). This initiative aims to spearhead research in this field and create a definitive benchmark for tasks associated with 3D ABUS image analysis. In this paper, we summarize the top-performing algorithms from the challenge and provide critical analysis for ABUS image examination. The use of Agriculture Intelligent Systems (AISs) in Iraq has become popular among farmers. The greenhouse is a solution for plant growth, which uses an effective microclimate to simulate seasons and to use alternative energy sources like solar, thermal, and photovoltaic systems for microclimate control. Greenhouses are considered a successful solution with developments and achievements in the technology of this field. However, problems like high costs, difficulties in installation and maintenance, or the need for some procedures should be considered. Because Iraq is close to the equator (3669 km), it receives sufficient solar power. It also has large areas available for the building of solar greenhouse systems. The farmers need an affordable and functional smart greenhouse to enable and encourage them to use the environment efficiently. We intend to develop low-cost, accurate, and easy-to-use greenhouse systems controlled by artificial intelligence algorithms. Farmers will be able to control the greenhouse by using simple commands. Machine learning algorithms provide real-time and effective analysis that could support farmers in decision-making and provide relevant data for researchers and policymakers. AISs algorithms can lead to a sustainable and productive agriculture system. The system can be used in Iraq with sufficient government support and subsidy.

This paper proposes a Nonlinear Model-Predictive control (NMPC) method capable of finding and converging to energy-efficient regular oscillations, which require no control action to be sustained. The approach builds up on the recently developed Eigenmanifold theory, which defines the sets of line-shaped oscillations of a robot as an invariant two-dimensional submanifold of its state space. By defining the control problem as a nonlinear program (NLP), the controller is able to deal with constraints in the state and control variables and be energy-efficient not only in its final trajectory but also during the convergence phase. An initial implementation of this approach is proposed, analyzed, and tested in simulation.

This study explored two truffle species, Tirmania spp. and Terfezia claveryi, collected from five newly identified locations in Iraq, focusing on their nutritional and medicinal value. Microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), optimized via response surface methodology (RSM), was employed to enhance the recovery of antioxidant compounds using solvents with varying polarity indices (PI: 0.10–10.2) and microwave power settings. Optimal conditions for Tirmania spp. involved an ethanol–water mixture (PI 8.4) at 150 W, yielding 47.3 % extract, 121.3 mg gallic acid equivalents per gram dry weight (mg GAE/g) of total phenolics, 79.2 mg quercetin equivalents per gram dry weight (mg Qrc/g) of flavonoids, and 24.2 mg Trolox equivalents per liter (mg Trolox/L) of antioxidant capacity measured by cupric ion reducing antioxidant capacity (CUPRAC) assay. Free radical scavenging activity was assessed using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH; IC 50 : 78.2 µg/mL) and 2,2′-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS; IC 50 : 23.3 µg/mL) assays. Activation energy analysis highlighted the solvent’s efficiency in balancing diffusion and energy transfer. Furthermore, LC-MS/MS analysis revealed that fumaric acid and vanillic acid were the major compounds, with Tirmania spp. generally exhibiting higher concentrations than Terfezia claveryi . Principal component analysis and hierarchical clustering revealed distinct bioactive profiles among samples. Antibacterial activity, assessed via the agar well diffusion method, demonstrated notable inhibition against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. These results emphasize the critical role of extraction parameters in enhancing the antioxidant and antibacterial potential of truffles for food and pharmaceutical applications.
