To prevent irreversible damage to one’s eyesight,ocular diseases(ODs)need to be recognized and treated *** fundus imaging(CFI)is a screening technology that is both effective and *** to CFIs,the early stages of the disease are characterized by a paucity of observable symptoms,which necessitates the prompt creation of automated and robust diagnostic *** traditional research focuses on image-level diagnostics that attend to the left and right eyes in isolation without making use of pertinent correlation data between the two sets of *** addition,they usually only target one or a few different kinds of eye diseases at the same *** this study,we design a patient-level multi-label OD(PLML_ODs)classification model that is based on a spatial correlation network(SCNet).This model takes into consideration the relevance of patient-level diagnosis combining bilateral eyes and multi-label ODs ***_ODs is made up of three parts:a backbone convolutional neural network(CNN)for feature extraction i.e.,DenseNet-169,a SCNet for feature correlation,and a classifier for the development of classification *** DenseNet-169 is responsible for retrieving two separate sets of attributes,one from each of the left and right *** then,the SCNet will record the correlations between the two feature sets on a pixel-by-pixel *** the attributes have been analyzed,they are integrated to provide a representation at the patient *** the whole process of ODs categorization,the patient-level representation will be *** efficacy of the PLML_ODs is examined using a soft margin loss on a dataset that is readily accessible to the public,and the results reveal that the classification performance is significantly improved when compared to several baseline approaches.

The scheme of water resources management is a necessity for reducing water scarcity in arid areas and improving water availability in general [1]. However, water leak detection and irrigation scheduling traditional AI models are often computationally intensive and require complex hyperparameter tuning, making them less scalable. This study presents an artificial intelligence-based optimization framework that improves forecasting accuracy, computational speed, and real-time adaptability. The architecture combines the ensemble-learning algorithms (XGBoost, LightGBM), hybrid AIs (XGBoost + Autoencoder), and metaheuristic feature selection (GA, PSO, SA) for making intelligent decisions. Moreover, ontology-based feature structuring enhances interpretability, while hyperparameter tuning (GridSearchCV, Bayesian Optimization) and model compression techniques (pruning, quantization, knowledge distillation) ensure computational efficiency. A large number of experiments on real-world IoT sensor data testify to the effectiveness of the framework. It achieves 0.992 AUC-ROC scores for leak detection, an RMSE of 0.227 hours for irrigation scheduling, and an overall accuracy of 94.8%. Additional performance measures comprise precision (89.0%), recall (95.2%), F1-score (0.92), and inference speed (0.003 ms/sample). Although quantization has reduced the computational overhead, we still see a 13.02% increase in the model size as seen in Experiment 6, leading to a trade-off that needs to be optimized further. This study offers a deployable AI-based model for sustainable water management by tackling the issues of scalability, computational cost, and limitations in benchmark evaluation. By virtue of the empirical validation and comparative analysis of the framework, it has been shown to perform better than the regular methods, proving that the methodology can act as a step forward in the field of real-time, AI-assisted irrigation and leak detection systems. © 2013 IEEE.

Skin cancer's increasing incidence rates necessitate advanced diagnostic tools. This research uses MobileNet architecture to develop an enhanced system for skin cancer detection. MobileNet's efficient CNN architecture, combined with Keras for model lifecycle management and TensorFlow for real-time inference, forms the foundation of this study. Using 10,015 dermatoscopic pictures from seven different classifications of skin cancer in the HAM10000 dataset, the methodology includes several key stages: image preprocessing to correct illumination and adjust resolution, data augmentation to balance the dataset, and model training using Transfer Learning. The MobileNet model was trained over 50 epochs with a comprehensive architecture incorporating multiple specialized layers. By combining large-scale data analysis and adaptive learning, this methodology demonstrates The revolutionary possibilities of AI and ML in improving skin cancer diagnostics and public health outcomes. The utilization of Data-Driven Machine Learning (DDML) models in the healthcare sector poses unique challenges due to the crucial nature of clinical decision-making and its impact on patient outcomes. A primary concern in this domain is the data quality that forms the basis for these models, which is essential for their effectiveness. While numerous studies are dedicated to leveraging Machine Learning (ML) to enhance patient care, a substantial gap exists in understanding and evaluating the quality of training data before training ML models. This issue is exacerbated by the lack of well-defined standards to ensure that data characteristics align with the specific goals of ML in healthcare. To address this, our study introduces a conceptual three-dimensional framework focusing on data accuracy, completeness, and consistency aimed at assessing and improving the quality of training data. This framework is designed to enhance the performance, predictability, and interpretability of healthcare-specific ML models and reduce biases, thus bridging current research gaps and laying the groundwork for future developments in ML-driven healthcare systems. This paper presents the initial step for our proposed Data Quality Framework (DQF), which addresses the three dimensions mentioned above. A machine learning approach for skin lesion classification on iOS: implementing and optimizing a convolutional transfer learning model with Create ML

The integration of machine learning (ML) into mobile applications presents unique challenges, particularly in resource-constrained environments such as iOS devices. Skin lesion classification is a critical task in dermatology, where accurate and efficient diagnostic tools can significantly aid in early detection of malignant lesions. This study aims to implement a machine learning-based iOS mobile application and develop a binary classification model for skin lesion images to determine whether a lesion is malignant. The research utilized Create ML to develop a convolutional neural network optimized for iOS, employing a transfer learning approach. A logistic regression model was cascaded with the convolutional neural network N to enhance classification accuracy. The model's performance was assessed through various validation metrics, ensuring its robustness and efficiency within the constraints of mobile hardware. A curated dataset from the International Skin Imaging Collaboration archive was used for training and testing. The model achieved an accuracy of 92%, a precision of 90%, a recall of 93%, and an F1-score of 91% in classifying skin lesions. These metrics validate the model's efficacy in identifying malignant lesions. Data curation involved collecting, labeling, and preparing a dataset from publicly available sources, ensuring the inclusion of diagnostically relevant features. The final model was integrated into an iOS application using Core ML and Vision frameworks. The developed application demonstrates reliable performance in classifying skin lesions with high accuracy on iOS devices. The inclusion of comprehensive performance metrics justifies the efficacy of the proposed approach. Future work will explore enhancements in model architecture and object detection capabilities to further improve diagnostic precision and application usability. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

The hardware and software of a computer are controlled by its operating system (OS), which performs essential tasks such as input and output processing, file and memory management, and the management of peripheral devices such as disk drives and printers. Application software refers to programs designed for specific purposes, these applications, often freely available and open source, contribute to the rising number of downloads. In the third quarter of 2022, combined downloads from the Apple App Store and Google Play Reached an estimated 35.3 billion. However, the prevalence of insecurity in these applications and technologies heightens the potential for cybercrimes. Protection against unauthorized intruders is crucial in identifying malicious applications. Machine learning (ML) serves as a promising avenue for detecting malware attacks, offering potential solutions to bolster cybersecurity measures. We propose a novel approach utilizing ML to enhance malware detection accuracy by segmenting datasets into distinct groups. Our research employs supervised ML techniques on the CICMaldroid2020 dataset, which includes comprehensive information such as intent actions, permissions, and sensitive APIs. The dataset was partitioned into four groups, each containing 150 features, and analyzed across four experiments to distinguish between attack and benign classes. Our proposed model demonstrated exceptional performance, with the random forest algorithm achieving an accuracy of 98.6% and a precision of 98.75%. These results highlight the effectiveness of our segmentation approach and its significant contribution to advancing malware detection in Android applications, offering a promising direction for future cybersecurity solutions. © 2024 by the authors of this article.

Comprehensive multimodal approach for Parkinson’s disease classification using artificial intelligence: insights and model explainability

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a debilitating neurodegenerative disorder affecting millions worldwide. Early detection is vital for effective management, yet remains challenging. In this study, we investigated four distinct datasets for PD detection. Through comprehensive experimentation employing ensemble methods and feature selection, we achieved high classification accuracies across the datasets. For the Oxford Parkinson’s Disease Detection Dataset, an accuracy of 95.67%, precision of 97.59%, recall of 84.5%, specificity of 99.32%, and F1-score of 90.57% were achieved. For the Alzheimer Parkinson Diseases 3 Class Dataset, the "Stacking" approach surpasses individual models, reaching an accuracy of 99.85%, precision of 99.81%, recall of 99.81%, specificity of 99.86%, and F1 of 99.81%. For the NewHandPD dataset, Regarding the Spiral category, The "Base-P32-384" model surpasses others with an accuracy of 97.35%, precision of 96.50%, recall of 98.57%, and F1-score of 97.53%. The collective "Stacking" approach proves highly effective regarding the Circle category, achieving 100% across all performance metrics. Regarding the Meander category, the "Base-P16-224" model achieves an accuracy of 97.35%, precision of 99.26%, recall of 95.71%, specificity of 99.19%, and F1 of 97.45%. The Mobile Device Voice Recordings at King’s College London (MDVR-KCL) dataset contains two datasets. Regarding the "SpontaneousDialogue" dataset, accuracy, BAC, precision, recall, specificity, and F1-score were computed, resulting in values of 94.03%, 92.83%, 90.78%, 100.0%, and 85.67%, respectively. Regarding the "ReadText" dataset, accuracy, BAC, precision, recall, specificity, and F1-score were computed, resulting in values of 91.89%, 90.62%, 87.5%, 100.0%, and 81.25%, respectively. Transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative games

In blockchain networks, transactions can be transmitted through channels. The existing transmission methods depend on their routing information. If a node randomly chooses a channel to transmit a transaction, the transmission may be aborted due to insufficient funds(also called balance) or a low transmission rate. To increase the success rate and reduce transmission delay across all transactions, this work proposes a transaction transmission model for blockchain channels based on non-cooperative game *** balance, channel states, and transmission probability are fully considered. This work then presents an optimized channel transaction transmission algorithm. First, channel balances are analyzed and suitable channels are selected if their balance is sufficient. Second, a Nash equilibrium point is found by using an iterative sub-gradient method and its related channels are then used to transmit transactions. The proposed method is compared with two state-of-the-art approaches: Silent Whispers and Speedy Murmurs. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves transmission success rate, reduces transmission delay,and effectively decreases transmission overhead in comparison with its two competitive peers.
