An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a bioelectrical signal which records the heart's electrical activity versus time. It is an important diagnostic tool for assessing heart functions. The interpretation of ECG signal is an application of pattern recognition. The techniques used in this pattern recognition comprise: signal preprocessing, QRS detection, creation of variables and signal classification. In this method, signal processing and programs implementation are based in Matlab environment. Matlab was used to develop a program that could further examine, analyze and study the ECG samples. Since the heart waveform can be simulated by cubic spline interpolation, this feature was used by the implemented Matlab program. The ECG samples were normalized and processed to produce 4 specific coefficients. These 4 coefficients of cubic spline were used in the applied methodology in order to evaluate and separate the various heart disorders with mathematical terms and equations. Based on the results of the applied methodology, the categorization of heart disorders without actual clinical examination is possible.

Intelligent Environments are currently implemented with standard WSN technologies using conventional connection-based communications. However, connection-based communications may impede progress towards IE scenarios involving high mobility or massive amounts of sensor nodes. We present a novel approach based on collective transmission for item level tagging using printed organic electronics, which implements robust, collective, approximate read-out of large numbers of simple tags. Our approach uses mechanisms for calculation by simultaneous transmission. We detail the collective transmission approach, discuss its implementation in the organic printed label scenario, and show first results of experiments conducted with our smart label test bed. We conclude with an outlook on the potential of collective transmission, and argue that collective transmission is a fundamental building block for realizing distributed intelligence.

In this paper we consider the problem of improving Web performance and propose an efficient differencing and merging system (DMS) based on an HTTP protocol extension. To provide for faster information exchange over the Web, the system tries to transfer only computed differences between requested documents and previously retrieved documents from the same site. Analysis and experimental results prove the effectiveness of DMS, but also show bigger processor and memory load on servers and clients. DMS is compatible with most of the existing solutions for improving Web performance. Moreover, SSL security system may be used to provide Web privacy and authenticity. The DMS model is simple to use and can be relatively easily integrated in Web servers and browsers.
