This thesis presents a real-time skin assessment system with the main aim of detecting inflammatory acne lesions and tracking skin conditions. A facial acne lesion detection algorithm was developed, using a pre-trained YOLOv8 model for lesion detection and a Mediapipe detector for face detection. The proposed solution aims to create a system used in smart mirrors to help users self-monitor and monitor their skin condition in real time without much involvement. The work shows that it is possible to effectively detect skin changes even in a motion situation, which could be a good direction for the development of solutions based on video analytics.

The objective of this study is to develop and assess a mobile application that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to support the rehabilitation of individuals with facial nerve paralysis. The application features two primary functionalities: assessing the paralysis severity and facilitating the monitoring of rehabilitation exercises. The AI algorithm employed for this purpose was Google's ML Kit “face-detection”. The classification of facial nerve palsy was achieved by measuring the asymmetry of the user's face using a proprietary algorithm developed specifically for this study. This approach not only enables a precise assessment of paralysis severity but also allows for a personalized rehabilitation experience. Furthermore, the monitoring of rehabilitation exercise adherence and correctness is conducted through algorithms crafted for this application to ensure that patients are performing their prescribed rehabilitation exercises effectively. This comprehensive system offers a tailored and interactive approach to the management of facial nerve paralysis through the integration of AI algorithms and user-friendly mobile technology.

This paper deals with the impact of the long-term stability tests and highly-accelerated stress test on the dielectric properties of paper-based Nomex 410 substrate. The investigation of the dielectric properties of the paper-based substrate by using the split cylinder resonator Keysight 85072A under the highly accelerated stress tests in shock chamber and the long-term stability in the climatic chamber over extended periods has been carried out. The results presented in this paper contribute valuable insights to the design and optimization of electronic systems, particularly those utilizing paper-based Nomex 410 substrates, with implications for enhancing long-term stability and reliability in diverse applications.

This paper deals with the electrical properties’ stability of flexible carbon-based conductive layers by applying the bending tests (1 million cycles for every sample). The first part of experiments delves into the design, fabrication, and characterization of carbon-based conductive layers, exploring the influence of various shapes of conductive tracks. The second part of experiments are focused on detailed investigation of conductive joints realization between the SMD components (0R resistors with 0805 packages) by analyzing different layouts and three materials for the joint’s creation. For this reason, the carbon-based conductive glue, silver-filled epoxy conductive glue and low-temperature solder paste were used and analyzed. The final paper systematically evaluates the stability of electrical properties, including conductivity and resistance, under different mechanical deformations and stressors by applying the axial and radial bending tests. The stability of electrical properties demonstrated in this paper paves the way for the development of more resilient and durable electronic carbon-based structures, offering new possibilities for the integration of flexible electronics into everyday devices and emerging technologies.

To promote honest service provision in multi-agent systems, a Computational Trustworthiness and Rating scheme collects service ratings and computes agents' trustworthiness levels (TLs). Studies of existing schemes fail to reflect closed-loop dynamics of TLs arising from the mutual influence of agents' behavior and TLs, and to capture relevant properties. Recent simulative and analytical models produce results tied to a particular attack scenario, or restricted to small-size systems or simplistic agent behavior. We analyze a class of parameterized skimp and slander attacks in a challenging setting featuring agents' virtual anonymity, collusion, and blind, i.e., TL-insensitive selection of service providers, as well as unpredictable service availability and receptivity. We derive closed-loop Markovian TL dynamics and their mean-value approximation to analytically characterize agents' steady-state TLs, and find a systematic defense against skimp and slander.
