A development of the active power factor correction is offered on the basis of the reduction of the power recovery in an infeed/regenerative module and the expansion of the dc link. This paper describes the laser micro structuring of formingtools for hot embossing. The laser micro structuring allows the manufacturing of the required structural sizes and structure forms as well as the machining of the applied tool materials which can not be manufactured with conventional processes like milling. Through the systematic investigation of the influences of single laser parameters it is possible to influence the processing of 2-D and 2 1 2 -D micro fluid geometries. The measurement of honed surfaces is one of the most important tasks in tribology. Although many established techniques exist for texture characterization, such as SEM, tactile stylus or white-light interferometry, none of them is suited for a machine integrated measurement. Harsh conditions such as the presence of cooling lubricant or vibrations prohibit the use of commercial sensors inside a honing machine. Instead, machined engine blocks need time-consuming cleaning and preparation while taken out of the production line for inspection. A full inspection of all produced parts is hardly possible this way. Within this paper, an approach for a machine-integrated measurement is presented, which makes use of optical sensors for texture profiling. The cooling lubricant here serves as immersion medium. The results of test measurements with a chromatic-confocal sensor and a fiber-optical low-coherence interferometer show the potential of both measuring principles for our approach. Cooling lubricant temperature and flow, scanning speed and measurement frequency have been varied in the tests. The sensor with best performance will later be chosen for machine integration.

The measurement of boreholes with diameters smaller than 500 microns is a demanding task, which cannot be coped with state-of-the-art production metrology. Within this paper, the set-up of a miniaturized fiber probe with a diameter of 80 microns is presented. The probe is used for low-coherence interferometry for the highly precise measurement of form deviations of small boreholes. Measurements, which have been conducted in nozzles, are presented. The results prove the potential of the fiber-optical sensor for the quality inspection of high-precision parts such as injection nozzles for common-rail diesel engines. The straightening technics is one of important means to improve the straightness of metal bar. A novel way of predicting the straightening stroke is proposed based on mathematical methods and bending experimental and numerical simulation. The experimental and numerical simulation is conducted by following the mathematical load-stroke model of press straightening process under the elastic-plastic theory. For the linear guide rails, as an example, the stroke-deflection model focusing on the straightening stroke prediction can be achieved by contrasting and integrating the bending experimental results and finite element methods (FEM) simulation data. And then the formula for predicting the straightening stroke is presented based on the precise straightening stroke-deflection model. The stroke prediction formula with high precision can be applied to the straightening stroke prediction in the high straightness metal bar manufacturing process and automatic straightening machine conveniently.

In this article current development works of a 3D human movement analysis system are presented which aims to meet the demands for the routine application in the clinical everyday life. The sensory base of the system is a depth camera. Important considered criteria are: easy integration in an available clinical environment, small set-up time at the patient and quick realization of the measurement as well as the exactness of the measuring results. Especially the small setup time enforces a system which is free of marker usage. The functionality of the developed system is demonstrated on a gait therapy robot (see figure 1), though not being limited to it. The resulting gait parameters show similar characteristics to reference gait data.
