Planning quality assurance (QA) activities in a systematic way and controlling their execution are challenging tasks for companies that develop software or software-intensive systems. Both require estimation capabilities regarding the effectiveness of the applied QA techniques and the defect content of the checked artifacts. Existing approaches for these purposes need extensive measurement data from his-torical projects. Due to the fact that many companies do not collect enough data for applying these approaches (es-pecially for the early project lifecycle), they typically base their QA planning and controlling solely on expert opinion. This article presents a hybrid method that combines commonly available measurement data and context-specific expert knowledge. To evaluate the methodpsilas applicability and usefulness, we conducted a case study in the context of independent verification and validation activities for critical software in the space domain. A hybrid defect content and effectiveness model was developed for the software requirements analysis phase and evaluated with available legacy data. One major result is that the hybrid model provides improved estimation accuracy when compared to applicable models based solely on data. The mean magni-tude of relative error (MMRE) determined by cross-validation is 29.6% compared to 76.5% obtained by the most accurate data-based model.

The main focus for housing industries is to ensure their asset of tenants. The economic process is a result of the demographical factor - population declines and the averaged age of people rises in the industrial countries. The consequence of the demographic factor is that housing industries become more and more competitors in a limited market. One option for housing industries is to offer specific, flexible and individual IT-based homeservices to tenants. Homeservices are assigned to health care, comfort and entertainment, security and facility management. The fact: people living in smart home environments open a new option for service providers. Their services will be integrated together into a huge service portal, designed regionally. A service platform offers various services and orchestrates them individually for every customer. In this szenario the customers are tenants from housing industry. The service platform considers of customers individual requirements and has got meta-information about the catalogue of IT-based homeservices, profiles of tenants and the service providers. Because of the defined service and provider parameters - like region, time and specialization - the service platform is in a position to orchestrate and manage various offered homeservices. Basic requirements, providing IT-based home-services, are a specific hardware, software and network infrastructure. These infrastructures are used to deliver basic information to the service platform. The service platform is flexible, scalable, configurable and personalised. Moreover the use and control has to be possible with mobile devices.

Although the demand for context-aware applications seems very high, not many applications are in real use. Besides the strenuosity, their insufficient adaptability to changing environment is a major reason. To address the issue, we proposed a VINCA-cc approach and a context middleware to support business-level dynamic configuration of context-aware service. In our approach, all kinds of context information are abstracted to standardized context business objects (CBO), registered in the context middleware. The business-level context model, CBO, represents a set of business-level properties and abstract unified operations that are applicable to all context information. Based on the visual business-level service composition language-VINCA and CBO model, context-aware services can be visually (re-)configured at the business-level. The paper focuses on the context middleware, CBO model and its application.

The usage of advanced audio processing algorithms in products has always been limited by the available processing power. For powerful concepts like the wave field synthesis (WFS) the performance is limited by the execution speed. In the past it was possible to increase the performance of digital signal processors by increasing the clock rate. The next generation will be highly parallel heterogeneous multi-processor systems. This paper presents a now parallel processor architecture and the first stops towards an adequate optimization of WFS. A software development environment which assists in creating scalable programs for highly parallel hardware will be further explained. An enhanced WFS convolution structure is presented which use position dependent filtering and improve the interpolation necessary for moving sound sources.

The paper presents work in progress in integrated management of artifacts in automotive electronics with focus on requirements. A case study on industrial requirements management was performed in a Swedish automotive supplier of software-intensive systems. Based on this case study, a frame concept for integrated model management is proposed. One core element in implementing this frame concept is an ontology-based domain repository. Concepts, architecture and realization of a domain-repository are introduced. The domain repository is based on RDF, RDFS and TRIPLE and includes extensions supporting navigation in the artifact net and derivation of new knowledge: Modlets, Actlets and Spot Views.

The evolution of wireless network technology has led to an increasing number of applications for mobile use. In addition, the paradigm of service-oriented architectures allows a composition of applications based on distributed web services. By using registries it becomes possible to choose the appropriate services at runtime. It needs to be considered that services for mobile use may have different scopes. For instance, routing or weather services may be dedicated to a specific region so that they may be useless if a user's area of interest does not match the service's scope. It is hence necessary to identify and use those services with a scope that corresponds to the relevant context such as a user's location. Moreover, if the context changes, it is desirable to automatically switch between different equivalent service instances to provide a user with a continuous connection to a desired service. We denote this mechanism as service roaming. This paper presents the major concepts needed for service roaming as well as a roaming model based on n-dimensional context spaces.
