Autonomous driving needs to obtain various traffic information promptly to make decisions, and the accurate positioning of traffic light in real time is one of the key points to realize autonomous driving. Up to now, there are many interesting and practical researches related to the positioning. However, most of the scholars are doing researches of daylight traffic light location. At night, Neon lights, street lights, car lights and other factors may have a serious impact on the accurate positioning of traffic lights. How to remove the influence of these factors is a big challenge in autonomous driving. We propose a practical approach to address this challenge. The motivation of this approach is as follows: Firstly, GPS information and electronic map are used to estimate the distance and direction of the current position relative to the traffic light;secondly, binocular vision is applied to get the depth, orientation and other information of each area in the image, excluding the interference area outside the scope of the traffic light;thirdly, use some methods to positioning the traffic light, including brightness value division, geometric features analysis, circular degree detection, and then the status of the traffic light can be recognized through the HSV color space. The experimental result shows that the positioning accuracy of this method is more than 95%, the average of processing time for each image is 301 ms, which can meet the requirements of accuracy and real-time.

With development of the infrastructures supporting smart home which has entered in a new stage featured by intelligent services. The services based on natural language instructions are aimed at simplifying and improving our lives. To customize and develop these services more efficiently, this paper proposes an approach to model and execute services based on natural language instructions at runtime which introduces the knowledge graph into development process. Firstly, a concept model of knowledge graph is introduced for smart home services. Secondly, we put forward the mechanism to construct the instance of knowledge graph for smart home services. Finally, rules of transformation are provided to achieve mapping from natural language instructions to the services of knowledge graph. We evaluate our model on a prototype system and the experimental results show that our approach can develop services at runtime and effectually reduce the lines of code by 90%. © 2019 Knowledge Systems Institute Graduate School. In the presence of scale, dynamism, uncertainty, and elasticity, cloud engineers face several challenges when allocating resources for cloud-based software services. They should allocate appropriate resources in order to guarantee good quality of services as well as low cost of resources. Self-adaptive ability is needed in this process because engineers' intervention is difficult. Traditional self-adaptive resource allocation methods are policy-driven. Thus, cloud engineers usually have to develop separate sets of rules for each systems in order to allocate resources effectively, which leads to high administrative cost and implementation complexity. Machine learning has made great achievements in many fields, and it can be also applied to resource allocation. In this paper, we present a self-learning and self-adaptive approach to resource allocation for cloud-based software services. For a given cloud-based software service, its QoS model is firstly trained on history data, which is capable to predict the QoS value as output by using the information on workload and allocated resources as inputs. Then, on-line decision-making on resource allocation can be carried out automatically based on genetic algorithm, which is aimed to search reasonable resource allocation plan by using the QoS model. We evaluate our approach on RUBiS benchmark, demonstrating the accuracy of the QoS model over 90% and the improvement of resource utilization by 10%-30%. © 2018 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Rumor is one of the main problems in social media, which often shows deeply and rapidly undesirable affection on the society. Although many rumor detection models consider content features and social features, all of them are based on the word independence assumption, which lacks the sequence context. Thus, if we use some words that often appear in rumors, our posts will be recognized as a rumor. To solve this problem, we propose a deep sequence context model (DSCM) for Chinese microblog rumor detection. This model considers two important factors of rumors: falsity and influence. Firstly, to learn falsity, we abolish the word independence assumption and use long short-term memory (LSTM) units to capture bi-direction sequence context information in content. Secondly, to learn influence, we combine the deep sequence context information with social features to learn the connection between content and social features. In our experiment, our results show that our approach outperforms several state-of-the-art machine learning approaches, including term frequency and inverse document frequency (TFIDF), LSTM, and gated recurrent unit (GRU) in rumor detection. © 2018 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

The goal of co-salient object detection (CoSOD) is to discover salient objects that commonly appear in a query group containing two or more relevant images. Therefore, how to effectively extract inter-image correspondence is crucial for the CoSOD task. In this paper, we propose a global-and-local collaborative learning architecture, which includes a global correspondence modeling (GCM) and a local correspondence modeling (LCM) to capture comprehensive inter-image corresponding relationship among different images from the global and local perspectives. Firstly, we treat different images as different time slices and use 3D convolution to integrate all intra features intuitively, which can more fully extract the global group semantics. Secondly, we design a pairwise correlation transformation (PCT) to explore similarity correspondence between pairwise images and combine the multiple local pairwise correspondences to generate the local inter-image relationship. Thirdly, the inter-image relationships of the GCM and LCM are integrated through a global-and-local correspondence aggregation (GLA) module to explore more comprehensive inter-image collaboration cues. Finally, the intra- and inter-features are adaptively integrated by an intra-and-inter weighting fusion (AEWF) module to learn co-saliency features and predict the co-saliency map. The proposed GLNet is evaluated on three prevailing CoSOD benchmark datasets, demonstrating that our model trained on a small dataset (about 3k images) still outperforms eleven state-of-the-art competitors trained on some large datasets (about 8k̴200k images). © 2022, CC BY-NC-SA.

Recently, some hypergraph-based methods have been proposed to deal with the problem of model fitting in computer vision, mainly due to the superior capability of hypergraph to represent the complex relationship between data points. However, a hypergraph becomes extremely complicated when the input data include a large number of data points (usually contaminated with noises and outliers), which will significantly increase the computational burden. In order to overcome the above problem, we propose a novel hypergraph optimization based model fitting (HOMF) method to construct a simple but effective hypergraph. Specifically, HOMF includes two main parts: an adaptive inlier estimation algorithm for vertex optimization and an iterative hyperedge optimization algorithm for hyperedge optimization. The proposed method is highly efficient, and it can obtain accurate model fitting results within a few iterations. Moreover, HOMF can then directly apply spectral clustering, to achieve good fitting performance. Extensive experimental results show that HOMF outperforms several state-of-the-art model fitting methods on both synthetic data and real images, especially in sampling efficiency and in handling data with severe outliers. The boundary-layer method is used to study a wide moving jam to a class of higher-order viscous models. The equations for characteristic parameters are derived to determine the asymptotic solution. The sufficient and essential conditions for the wide moving jam formation are discussed in detail, respectively, and then used to prove or disprove the existence of the wide moving jam solutions to many well-known higher-order models. It is shown that the numerical results agree with the analytical results.

In this work, we revisit the classical Holling type II three species food chain model from a different viewpoint. Two critical parameters λ1 and λ2 dependent on all parameters are defined. The existence and local stabilities of all equilibria can be reformulated by λ1 and λ2, and the complete classifications of parameters and its corresponding dynamics are given. Moreover, with the extinction of top-predator, there is an invariant two dimensional subsystem containing the prey and the intermediate predator. We prove the global stability of the boundary equilibrium in 3+ by differential inequality as well as Butler-McGehee lemma if it is stable. Alternatively, there is a unique limit cycle when the boundary equilibrium lost its stability, and we also show the global stability of the limit cycle in 3+ by differential inequality and computing the Floquet Multipliers. Finally, some interesting numerical simulations, the chaotic and the bi-stability phenomena, are presented numerically. In recent years, RGB-T salient object detection (SOD) has attracted continuous attention, which makes it possible to identify salient objects in environments such as low light by introducing thermal image. However, most of the existing RGBT SOD models focus on how to perform cross-modality feature fusion, ignoring whether thermal image is really always matter in SOD task. Starting from the definition and nature of this task, this paper rethinks the connotation of thermal modality, and proposes a network named TNet to solve the RGB-T SOD task. In this paper, we introduce a global illumination estimation module to predict the global illuminance score of the image, so as to regulate the role played by the two modalities. In addition, considering the role of thermal modality, we set up different cross-modality interaction mechanisms in the encoding phase and the decoding phase. On the one hand, we introduce a semantic constraint provider to enrich the semantics of thermal images in the encoding phase, which makes thermal modality more suitable for the SOD task. On the other hand, we introduce a two-stage localization and complementation module in the decoding phase to transfer object localization cue and internal integrity cue in thermal features to the RGB modality. Extensive experiments on three datasets show that the proposed TNet achieves competitive performance compared with 20 state-of-the-art methods.
