A numerical magnitude aware multi-channel hierarchical encoding network for math word problem solving

Math word problem (MWP) represents a critical research area within reading comprehension, where accurate comprehension of math problem text is crucial for generating math expressions. However, current approaches still grapple with unresolved challenges in grasping the sensitivity of math problem text and delineating distinct roles across various clause types, and enhancing numerical representation. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a Numerical Magnitude Aware Multi-Channel Hierarchical Encoding Network (NMA-MHEA) for math expression generation. Firstly, NMA-MHEA implements a multi-channel hierarchical context encoding module to learn context representations at three different channels: intra-clause channel, inter-clause channel, and context-question interaction channel. NMA-MHEA constructs hierarchical constituent-dependency graphs for different levels of sentences and employs a Hierarchical Graph Attention Neural Network (HGAT) to learn syntactic and semantic information within these graphs at the intra-clause and inter-clause channels. NMA-MHEA then refines context clauses using question information at the context-question interaction channel. Secondly, NMA-MHEA designs a number encoding module to enhance the relative magnitude information among numerical values and type information of numerical values. A Novel Spatiotemporal Correlation Anomaly Detection Method Based on Time-Frequency-Domain Feature Fusion and a Dynamic Graph Neural Network in Wireless Sensor Network

Attention-based transformers have played an important role in wireless sensor network (WSN) timing anomaly detection due to their ability to capture long-term dependencies. However, there are several issues that must be addressed, such as the fact that their ability to capture long-term dependencies is not completely reliable, their computational complexity levels are high, and the spatiotemporal features of WSN timing data are not sufficiently extracted for detecting the correlation anomalies of multinode WSN timing data. To address these limitations, this article proposes a WSN anomaly detection method that integrates frequency-domain features with dynamic graph neural networks (GNNs) under a designed self-encoder reconstruction framework. First, the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) effectively decomposes trend and seasonal components of time series to solve the poor long-term reliability of transformers. Second, a frequency-domain attention mechanism (FDAM) is designed to make full use of the difference between the amplitude distributions of normal data and anomalous data in this domain. Finally, a multimodal fusion-based dynamic graph convolutional network (MFDGCN) is designed by combining an attention mechanism and a graph convolutional network (GCN) to adaptively extract spatial correlation features. A series of experiments conducted on public datasets and their results demonstrate that the anomaly detection method designed in this article exhibits superior precision and recall than the existing methods do, with an F1 score of 93.5%, representing an improvement of 2.9% over that of the existing models. © 2025 IEEE. To transmit customer power data collected by smart meters(SMs)to utility companies,data must first be transmitted to the corresponding data aggregation point(DAP)of the *** number of DAPs installed and the installation location greatly impact the whole *** the traditional DAP placement algorithm,the number of DAPs must be set in advance,but determining the best number of DAPs is difficult,which undoubtedly reduces the overall performance of the ***,the excessive gap between the loads of different DAPs is also an important factor affecting the quality of the *** address the above problems,this paper proposes a DAP placement algorithm,APSSA,based on the improved affinity propagation(AP)algorithm and sparrow search(SSA)algorithm,which can select the appropriate number of DAPs to be installed and the corresponding installation locations according to the number of SMs and their distribution locations in different *** algorithm adds an allocation mechanism to optimize the subnetwork in the *** is evaluated under three different areas and compared with other DAP placement *** experimental results validated that the method in this paper can reduce the network cost,shorten the average transmission distance,and reduce the load gap.

KAC-Unet: A medical Image Segmentation With the Adaptive Group Strategy and Kolmogorov-Arnold Network

In the field of deep learning-based medical image segmentation, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) extract image features by combining linear convolutional layers with nonlinear activation functions. However, excessive stacking of linear layers in the network limits the model’s ability to capture fine-grained details. In addition, the feature distribution imbalance caused by the traditional fixed grouping strategy (FGS) can affect the deep model’s capacity to perceive the overall structure of the image. To address these challenges, we propose a medical image segmentation framework, called Kolmogorov-Arnold Network with the adaptive group strategy and contextual Transformer based on Unet (KAC-Unet). First, we propose the adaptive group strategy (AGS) to balance the grouping of different input channels, alleviating the performance degradation caused by differences in group information. Then, we propose the Shift Tokenized Kolmogorov-Arnold Network (KAN) Block to capture complex features in medical images through flexible nonlinear transformations and shift operations. Extensive experiments are conducted on three medical image segmentation datasets. The results demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our proposed method compared with state-of-the-art algorithms. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Explicit and Implicit Consumer Electronics Information Integration via Automatic Large Language Model Construction

—Integrating diverse Consumer Electronics (CE) information is essential to enhance and optimize user experiences, but CE Information Integration (CEII) faces challenges arising from differences in entity descriptions. In recent years, Large Language Models (LLMs) have emerged as valuable tools for analyzing heterogeneous CE data due to their deep contextual embeddings. However, different LLMs capture various nuances and complexity levels within the CE data, and none of them can ensure their effectiveness in all heterogeneous scenarios. To address this issue, this paper proposes an automatic LLM Construction for CEII, which can determine both explicit and implicit CE entity mappings. First, a hybrid Genetic Programming is developed to determine explicit entity mappings using a new individual representation, an innovative fitness function, and a Probability-based Incremental Learning algorithm. Then, a novel Rough Set based matching method is presented to efficiently induce implicit CE entity mappings, which uses the entity feature relevance metric and the dominance-based matching approach. The experiment tests the performance of our approach with the OAEI’s KG and common KG datasets, and the practical CE datasets in the smart home context. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the developed approach, which significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art entity matching methods. © 2025 IEEE.

The processes of sowing and fertiliser application represent a significant aspect of agricultural production. In order to achieve efficient and precise seeding and fertiliser application, mass flow detection of seed and fertiliser particles can facilitate real-time monitoring and precise decision-making for intelligent seeding and fertiliser application. However, the diversity of seed and fertiliser particle types and particle flow modes presents a challenge for existing detection methods, particularly in meeting the varying operational requirements, especially for particle mass flow detection in low-altitude and high-speed sowing operations of agricultural drones. In such cases, the overlap and flow rate will have a significant impact on the detection results due to the large displacement and the continuous high-throughput dense phase of the particle flow. This paper provides a summary of the existing seed and fertiliser particle mass flow detection techniques and their underlying working principles. It compares the direct detection based on mass with the indirect detection methods based on velocity and concentration, and analyses their respective advantages, disadvantages and applicability. It also explores the possibility of optimising the existing detection methods for the specific needs of agricultural UAVs and considers the potential introduction of cutting-edge science and technology in order to develop an efficient, accurate and convenient detection system to meet the growing market demand. © (2025), (INMA Bucharest). Genetic algorithms (GAs) are a powerful class of optimization techniques inspired by the principles of natural selection and genetics. One of the theoretical cornerstones of GAs is schema theory, which provides a framework for understanding how building blocks of solutions, known as schemas, are propagated and combined through generations. This review paper aims to provide a comprehensive theoretical analysis of schema formation in genetic algorithms. It delves into the foundational principles of schema theory, including the schema theorem and its implications for the efficiency and behavior of GAs. The paper also explores advanced topics such as schema disruption mechanisms, the impact of multimodal and epistatic fitness landscapes, and the integration of schema theory with hybrid approaches. Additionally, practical implications and real-world applications of schema theory are discussed through case studies and best practices. By elucidating the mechanisms of schema formation and their influence on genetic algorithm performance, this review seeks to offer valuable insights and directions for future research. The development of effective drug therapies is a complex and multifaceted problem involving various biological, chemical, and computational challenges. Traditional drug development methods are often time-consuming and costly, necessitating innovative approaches. Multi-objective genetic algorithms (MOGAs) have emerged as a powerful tool for optimizing drug design by simultaneously considering multiple conflicting objectives, such as efficacy, safety, and cost. This paper reviews the application of MOGAs in drug discovery, highlighting their principles, advantages, and case studies, and discussing future directions in the field. Enhancing MOGAs in drug discovery are also outlined, emphasizing the integration with machine learning, advancements in computational infrastructure, and the potential for personalized medicine.
