Presents a method for the analysis of time series from drifting or switching dynamics. In an extension to existing approaches that identify switches or drifts between stationary dynamical modes, the method allows one to analyze even continuously varying dynamics and can identify mixtures of more than two dynamical modes. The architecture is based on a mixture of self-organizing Nadaraya-Watson kernel estimators. The mixture model is trained by barrier optimization, a technique for constrained optimization problems. We apply the proposed method to artificially generated data and EEG recordings from the wake/sleep transition.

The current architectural trends in the field of multi-core processors can provide an enormous increase in processing power by exploiting the parallelism available in many applications. In particular because of their high energy efficiency, it is obvious that multi-core processor-based systems will also be used in future space missions. In this paper we present the system architecture of a powerful optical sensor system based on the eight core multi-core processor P4080 from Freescale. The fault tolerant structure and the highly effective FDIR concepts implemented on different hardware and software levels of the system are described in detail. The space application scenario and thus the main requirements for the sensor system have been defined by a complex tracking sensor application for autonomous landing or docking manoeuvres.

This paper proposes a decomposition based algo- rithm for revision problems in classical propositional logic. A set of decomposing rules are presented to analyze the satis- fiability of formulas. The satisfiability of a formula is equivalent to the satisfiability of a set of literal sets. A decomposing function is constructed to calculate all satisfiable literal sets of a given formula. When expressing the satisfiability of a formula, these literal sets are equivalent to all satisfied models of such formula. A revision algorithm based on this decomposing function is proposed, which can calculate maximal contractions of a given problem. In order to reduce the memory requirement, a filter function is introduced. The improved algorithm has a good performance in both time and space perspectives.

Defect distribution prediction is a meaningful topic because software defects are the fundamental cause of many attacks and data loss. Building accurate prediction models can help developers find bugs and prioritize their testing efforts. Previous researches focus on exploring different machine learning algorithms based on the features that encode the characteristics of *** problem of data redundancy exists in software defect data set, which has great influence on prediction *** propose a defect distribution prediction model(Deep belief network prediction model, DBNPM), a system for detecting whether a program module contains defects. The key insight of DBNPM is Deep belief network(DBN)technology, which is an effective deep learning technique in image processing and natural language processing, whose features are similar to defects in source *** results show that DBNPM can efficiently extract and process the data characteristics of source program and the performance is better than Support vector machine(SVM), Locally linear embedding SVM(LLE-SVM), and Neighborhood preserving embedding SVM(NPE-SVM).

We present a method for the analysis of non-stationary time series from dynamical systems that switch between multiple operating modes. In contrast to other approaches, our method processes the data incrementally and without any training of internal parameters. It straightaway performs an unsupervised segmentation and classification of the data on-the-fly. In many cases it even allows to process incoming data in real-time. The main idea of the approach is to track and segment changes of the probability density of the data in a sliding window on the incoming data stream. An application to a switching dynamical system demonstrates the potential usefulness of the algorithm in a broad range of applications.

This paper addresses the process-oriented collaboration based on a grid-based platform for the support of virtual organizations (VO), illustrated on the example of the construction industry. Distributed, organizational and IT-structures of teams involved in vintage complex projects cannot be managed with conventional methods in an appropriate manner. Both using a grid platform and grid-based services, in conjunction with semantic methods for consistency saving and goal-oriented process management can increase the efficiency of collaboration processes in large-scale projects. A hybrid grid- and web service-based architecture for the next generation of VO service and a gateway solution was developed integrating the process-oriented perspective and prototypically implemented. The problem, as well as the solution on the basis of the hybrid system architecture combing the benefits of the cutting-edge technologies, the methodical concept for modeling VO processes and their automated execution on a grid platform are discussed in detail.

Recent research shows that runtime models can be used to build dynamic systems coping with changing requirements and execution environments. As software systems are getting bigger and more complex, locating malfunctioning software parts is no trivial task because of the vast amount of possible error sources and produced logging information. This information has to be traced back to faulty components, which often leads to editing of code scattered over different software artefacts. With such a fragmented view, challenges arise in finding out the root cause of the unwanted software behaviour. In this paper we propose the usage of runtime models in combination with model-driven techniques and interactive visualizations to ease tracing between log file entries and corresponding software artefacts. The contribution of this paper is a repository-based approach to augment root cause analysis with interactive tracing views while maximizing reusability of models created during the software development process.

Complex real world systems are currently developing to become a decisive instrument for IT-supported problem solving of a great number of problems posed by science, economy and society. By this, we for the first time face the chance of being able to find new solutions, visions, and strategies for sustainable development on the basis of complex, real world simulations. M3-Simulations is a simulation approach that actively involves man in a simulated world based on scientifically-founded simulation models driven by current data of measurement. This new kind of simulation concept combines reality-based modeling of scientific simulation systems with the intuitive graphic representation, complex communication and interaction structures of virtual worlds in order to support the process of investigation into the possibilities of sustainable development.
