There has been a growing interest in using natural alternatives to synthetic additives in animal feed. This study aimed to examine the physicochemical properties of signal grass (Brachiaria decumbens) and its cost-benefit application in broiler production. The characterization was performed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric/derivative thermogravimetry (TG/DTG), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). A feeding trial involving 216 Sasso broiler chicks was conducted to assess the economic value of including B. decumbens grass meal in their diets. The chicks were divided into six groups, with Treatments 1 and 2 serving as controls (without antibiotics and with oxytetracycline, respectively). Treatments 3 to 6 received diets supplemented with 1.25, 2.50, 3.75, and 5.00 g/kg of B. decumbens grass meal without antibiotics. Body weight and feed intake were monitored over eight weeks to determine growth performance and feed conversion ratio. In today's disruptive era, where digital systems and the internet are central, assessment methods are transitioning from paper-based to computer-based tests. As digital technology becomes more accessible, there is growing interest in determining whether these new formats provide more effective means of evaluating learning outcomes. To investigate this, we examined performance and objective measures of brain function during both computer-based and paper-based reading comprehension tests. This study focuses on brain function analysis of computer-based and paper-based tests measured by EEG signals. Five healthy students at the Bl CEFR level voluntarily participated in two experimental conditions: paper-based testing (PBT) and computer-based testing (CBT). During the tests, EEG signals were recorded and analyzed using MATLAB to identify various features of brain activity. The results indicate that participants who performed better on paper-based tests showed greater familiarity with the test format. The power spectral density of EEG recordings, along with the average frequency of alpha and beta waves, were positively correlated with test familiarity. The issue of security in the use of payment-based technology is considered essential to continue to be studied because of the impact of advances in technology and information. One of the payment methods that is developing in Indonesia is m-fintech. Therefore, this study analyzes the aspects driving the continuance intention of m-fintech payments, namely knowledge, perceived security, and perceived usefulness. This study uses a questionnaire as the primary data to test the hypothesis. Questionnaires were distributed online to 357 consumers using m-fintech payments in Jabodetabek. Therefore, the sampling technique used is purposive. Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0.8.9 software is used to answer the hypothesis. The results of this study prove that knowledge, perceived security, and perceived usefulness are good predictors in explaining the continuance intention of m-fintech payments. In detail, knowledge influenced perceived security, and perceived usefulness influenced the continuance intention of m-fintech payments. Finally, perceived security and usefulness affect the continuance intention of m-fintech payments. These findings contribute to m-fintech payment companies continuing to improve the security of m-fintech payments in line with improvements in technology and information. © 2023 IEEE.

The expressive quality of synthesized speech for audiobooks is limited by generalized model architecture and unbalanced style distribution in the training data. To address these issues, in this paper, we propose a self-supervised style enhancing method with VQ-VAE-based pre-training for expressive audiobook speech synthesis. Firstly, a text style encoder is pre-trained with a large amount of unlabeled text-only data. Secondly, a spectrogram style extractor based on VQ-VAE is pre-trained in a self-supervised manner, with plenty of audio data that covers complex style variations. Then a novel architecture with two encoder-decoder paths is specially designed to model the pronunciation and high-level style expressiveness respectively, with the guidance of the style extractor. Both objective and subjective evaluations demonstrate that our proposed method can effectively improve the naturalness and expressiveness of the synthesized speech in audiobook synthesis especially for the role and out-of-domain scenarios. CALM: Contrastive Cross-modal Speaking Style Modeling for Expressive Text-to-Speech Synthesis

To further improve the speaking styles of synthesized speeches, current text-to-speech (TTS) synthesis systems commonly employ reference speeches to stylize their outputs instead of just the input texts. These reference speeches are obtained by manual selection which is resource-consuming, or selected by semantic features. However, semantic features contain not only style-related information, but also style irrelevant information. The information irrelevant to speaking style in the text could interfere the reference audio selection and result in improper speaking styles. To improve the reference selection, we propose Contrastive Acoustic-Linguistic Module (CALM) to extract the Style-related Text Feature (STF) from the text. CALM optimizes the correlation between the speaking style embedding and the extracted STF with contrastive learning. Thus, a certain number of the most appropriate reference speeches for the input text are selected by retrieving the speeches with the top STF similarities. Then the style embeddings are weighted summarized according to their STF similarities and used to stylize the synthesized speech of TTS. Experiment results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed approach, with both objective evaluations and subjective evaluations on the speaking styles of the synthesized speeches outperform a baseline approach with semantic-feature-based reference selection. Medical wastes bring probable hazards and public risks if not handled correctly, especially during the covid-19 pandemic. Waste management costs are rising due to continues devastation of covid-19 virus. Increased care and handling processes have been implemented to avoid further spreading the infection while ensuring the proper disposal. Given this, medical waste related to covid-19, including other wastes generated by medical facilities, requires delicate integration into the waste management process thru a reverse logistics network for cost-efficient collection, processing, and transport style. Using AMPL software as solving tool, this paper was designed to utilize a mixed-integer linear programming model of a reverse logistics network to improve medical waste management by identifying the total minimum cost of the waste disposal cycle from Waste generating facilities, treatment facilities, and to the disposal factory. © 2022 ACM.

The optimisation of control engineering tools based on digital twin capabilities and other cyber-physical metaverse manufacturing system (CPMMS) components are crucial for the successful performance. This study proposes a model for optimising control engineering tools using digital twin capabilities and other CPMMS components to solve the open issues. The main contributions and novelty aspects of the methodological process are outlined as follows: Formulated and developed is a decision matrix based on a utility procedure for 10 control engineering tools with digital twin capabilities and other three CPMMS components (Programmable-Logic-Controller and Human-Machine-Interface, Internet of Things connectivity and cybersecurity features). This matrix accounts for the uncertainty associated with tool assessment and transformation evaluation issue;formulated and develop an integrating fuzzy weighted with zero-inconsistency-interval-valued spherical fuzzy rough sets (IvSFRS-FWZIC) and combined compromise solution (CoCoSo) methods. The IvSFRS-FWZIC method is utilised to assign importance degrees to the digital twin capabilities and other CPMMS components. The applicability and robustness of the proposed approach are validated and evaluated through conducting sensitivity, correlation, and comparative analyses. The proposed approach can assist managers in analysing and selecting the most suitable tool for developing CPMMS. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Smallholders play a vital role in global agriculture but face challenges such as resource limitations and market uncertainties. Contract farming (CF) and cooperative markets provide opportunities to smallholders to address these challenges. In this context, this study develops mathematical planning models for fresh produce supply chains (FPSCs) in two scenarios involving CF and cooperative markets with the objective of maximizing profits of smallholders. Results of computational experiments and sensitivity analysis reveal that CF has greater potential than cooperative markets to mitigate price volatility, thereby offering a stable income source to smallholders. This study provides valuable insights into CF and cooperative market practices, contributing to the sustainability of FPSCs and improving smallholders’ livelihoods. © Fuji Technology Press Ltd.

Probabilistic Error Cancellation (PEC) aims to improve the accuracy of expectation values for observables. This is accomplished using the probabilistic insertion of recovery gates, which correspond to the inverse of errors. However, the inserted recovery gates also induce errors. Thus, it is difficult to obtain accurate expectation values with PEC since the estimator of PEC has a bias due to noise induced by recovery gates. To address this challenge, we propose an improved version of PEC that considers the noise resulting from gate insertion, called Feed-Forward PEC (FFPEC). FFPEC provides an unbiased estimator of expectation values by cancelling out the noise induced by recovery gates. We demonstrate that FFPEC yields more accurate expectation values compared to the conventional PEC method through analytical evaluations. In the emerging information economy, data evolves as an essential asset and personal data in particular is used for data-driven business models. However, companies frequently leverage personal data without considering individuals’ data sovereignty. Therefore, we strive to strengthen individuals’ position in data ecosystems by combining concepts of data sovereignty and data economy. Our research design comprises an approach to design thinking iteratively generating, validating, and refining such concepts. As a result, we identified ten areas of tension that arise when linking data sovereignty and data economy. Subsequently, we propose initial solutions to resolve these tensions and thus contribute to knowledge about the development of fair data ecosystems benefiting both individuals’ sovereignty and companies’ access to data. © 2022 17th International Conference on Wirtschaftsinformatik, WI 2022.
