High availability (HA) in MySQL databases remains a critical challenge, particularly due to risks such as single point of failure (SPOF) and limited scalability in existing setups. Previous studies have explored various approaches to address these issues. One study implemented ProxySQL and Orchestrator for query routing and failover but relied on a single server instance, creating a SPOF that could disrupt client access during failures. Another study implemented HAProxy to balance traffic and couple database servers with specific web applications. While effective for certain use cases, this approach reduced resource efficiency and scalability, because it relies on HTTP protocol and database server are coupled to each application, making it less suitable for dynamic, shared environments requiring high flexibility. These limitations highlight the need for a more robust and scalable HA solution. This paper proposes an improved HA architecture that eliminates SPOFs and enhances scalability by combining redundant ProxySQL instances synchronized with Keepalived managed Virtual IP (VIP) and automated failover using Orchestrator. The architecture allows shared database resources across multiple applications while decoupling them from specific application servers. Test results confirm the system's ability to maintain seamless failover, consistent query routing, and uninterrupted client access through dynamic Virtual IP reassignment to backup server. By addressing the issues of previous studies, this solution provides a practical and scalable framework to achieve high availability in the MySQL cluster by combing ProxySQL, Orchestrator, and Keepalived, making it suitable for modern enterprise environments. © 2025 IEEE.

Customer complaints are an important aspect in the business world. Every company must face complaints from its customers, whether related to unsatisfactory products, services or experiences. Customer complaints are a sign of unmet needs or expectations. A customer service person is tasked with serving questions asked by customers or consumers. The purpose of this research is to classify types of complaints to help customer service. The classification carried out is in binary form, namely disputed or not. This research compares several machine learning algorithms for classification of customer questions into appropriate categories for more efficient responses. Based on evaluation metrics, the F1 Score light gradient boosting machine (LGBM) is the best model compared to Multinomial Naive Bayes (MNB), Logistic Regression (LR), SVM (Support Vector Machine), and EXTC (Extra Tree Classifier). © 2024 IEEE.

This study investigates emotion detection on tweets written in the Indonesian language, using the IndoBERT model that has been trained for 50 epochs. The examination conducted in this study provides a comprehensive analysis of the performance dynamics shown by the model. The assessment results provide an accuracy score of 0.74, indicating the model's proficiency in identifying sentiments within the collection of tweets. By using assessment criteria such as accuracy, recall, and the F1-score, the model's comprehensive analytical ability is validated, emphasizing its effectiveness in deciphering various emotional circumstances. The accuracy, recall, and F1-score of the model, with average values of 0.79, 0.78, and 0.78 respectively, combined demonstrate its resilience in accurately capturing subtle emotional subtleties. This study enhances our comprehension of language model applications in the field of emotional intelligence by exploring the complexities of sentiment analysis. It emphasizes the practical value of these applications in real-world scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.

Significant advancements in information technology have altered existing markets, transforming them from physical to online electronic markets (e-commerce). The practice of conducting business online by smaller and medium-sized companies has received encouragement and assistance from governments all around the world, particularly those of developing nations. With the evolution of e-commerce, businesses must find a better way to implement e-commerce while maintaining its security. The purpose of this article is to carry out a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) in order to determine the types of vulnerabilities that are present in e-commerce platforms used by SMEs. As a result, in the conclusion, security issues and recommended solutions related to e-commerce systems for SMEs will be presented. This study investigates the performance of Vision Transformer (ViT) variants - the Shifted Window Transformers (SWIN), Distillation with No Labels (DINO), and Data-efficient Image Transformers (DeIT) - in image captioning tasks using the Flickr8K dataset. While ViT architectures have shown promise in image classification, their effectiveness for image captioning, particularly with smaller datasets, remains unclear. The models' performance was evaluated using BLEU metrics, while training efficiency was analyzed through Pareto front analysis of computational time and accuracy. Among the tested variants, SWIN Transformers demonstrated superior performance (BLEU-1: 64.4, BLEU-2: 33.9, BLEU-3: 17.1, BLEU-4: 8.4), followed by DINO (BLEU-1: 63.1, BLEU-2: 32.7, BLEU-3: 16.4, BLEU-4: 7.5), while DeIT showed the weakest performance (BLEU-1: 61.6, BLEU-2: 31.1, BLEU-3: 14.7, BLEU-4: 6.5). SWIN Transformers achieved the shortest training time at 3 minutes 31 seconds per epoch, making it the most efficient model among ViT variants based on Pareto front analysis. While ViT variants achieved competitive BLEU-1 scores comparable to previous top models, they struggled with generating coherent, longer sentences, as evidenced by suboptimal BLEU-4 scores. These findings provide empirical evidence of how the lack of inductive bias in transformer architectures affects their ability to capture complex scene relationships, despite their strong feature detection capabilities, contributing to the understanding of transformer models' limitations in vision-language tasks, especially with limited data. © 2024 IEEE.

Emotion Recognition is one field that is taking the world by storm in this current age. Multimodal emotion recognition has shown promising results however, previous studies shows that recognition using speech is a field has not performed that greatly. Previous research used popular methods such as CNN, RNN, and other machine learning methods has been used to achieved good results with the help of other modality, where if speech were to be used alone the results won't be as good. A factor that contributes to the result of the speech modality not performing as well is the fact of the dataset and the way it was processed. Therefore, this research looks into what makes speech one of the lowest performing modalities by preprocessing the dataset using a different method than previous researches as well as using a CNN model paired with a Transformer model. Results achieved from this research showed an improvement when using IEMOCAP by 8.09% and MELD by 1.06%. A comparison results of using the pre-processed data with previous studies model was also done to compare the results. In conclusion, this research has explored a different preprocessing method and deep learning model that has achieved results better than previous works with the same dataset. © 2025 IEEE.

The exponential growth of the number of devices connected to the Internet and the use of IoT applications increases the amount of data exchange over public channels in low-cost and low-power embedded systems. Images are the most widely shared files, and standard symmetric algorithms such as the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) are optimized for text but not image encryption. Consequently, new approaches like chaotic encryption have attracted researchers’ interest. Chaotic encryption schemes have been analyzed mostly from a software standpoint, but recent advancements in the field, through the use of discrete chaotic maps, enabled the development of simpler hardware implementations of ciphers with promising reductions in power and cost and increased performance. This work presents the Field-programmable Gate Array (FPGA) implementation of a simultaneous permutation-diffusion chaotic encryption scheme utilizing a discrete-space chaotic map. The FPGA implementation of the cipher is analyzed considering area, maximum frequency, and power consumption, and comparisons are made with the AES. The proposed algorithm has a satisfactory trade-off between area, power and performance, obtaining a peak throughput 59% higher than state-of-the-art symmetric ciphers in the literature. Thus, the proposed cipher shows that chaotic ciphers are viable for both high-performance and low-power embedded devices. Tests verified the security of the proposed cipher against statistical, differential, brute-force, and chosen plain-text attacks. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

This study proposes a smart contract risk management model built on the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) to help identify, assess, and manage the risks of smart contracts. While smart contracts are beloved as a means to automate and disintermediate business processes, their security vulnerabilities can be critical. The main issue discussed in this paper is the lack of a holistic approach to risk management smart contracts. The resulting framework consists of six steps: Risk identification, assessment, prioritization, mitigation, testing, and continuous monitoring (and was developed through reviewing existing literature on smart contract security and the NIST RMF). It is recommended that a case study be performed to prove the proposed model's effectiveness in managing the risks of smart contracts and minimizing financial losses and reputational harm. The paper presents a risk management framework for smart contracts to increase trust and adoption to enhance security while reducing financial losses and reputation damage. This has wider implications for the security of smart contracts and can be used as a starting point for future work. This study is expected to significantly contribute to smart contract security by introducing an organized way to address these contracts' risks using the NIST RMF. © 2023 IEEE.

Defragmentation can potentially be employed as a tactic by perpetrators to conceal, misrepresent, or eliminate digital evidence. This study explores the effects of minor defragmentation, a potential method to conceal digital evidence, on recovering file system data in digital forensics. Our investigation sought to determine the influence of minor defragmentation on the effectiveness of data recovery and to identify methods that can augment the success rate post-defragmentation. We limited the scope of this study to defragmentation in Hard Disk Drives (HDDs), solid-state drives (SSDs), and USB drives. A mixed-method approach employs a literature review, case studies, and controlled experiments. Comparative analysis was used as the main data analysis technique to investigate its impact. Preliminary findings suggest that minor defragmentation hampers data recovery;however, certain strategies can augment success rates. These results can significantly influence the development of data recovery policies, particularly those of digital forensic analysts and law enforcement. The primary objective of this study is to bolster the efficiency and dependability of file system data recovery post-defragmentation while upholding ethical and legal standards. © 2023 IEEE.

Human food needs are increasing all the time. This condition is in line with the increasing world population and exacerbated by climate change. Agricultural products are one of the sources of food to meet food needs. The use of technology is one of the keys to success in increasing agricultural production. One of the technologies used in agricultural technology is the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT in agricultural technology can be used to monitor soil and weather conditions to ensure that these conditions are in accordance with the needs of agricultural crops. The use of machine learning technology can be combined with IoT to help predict the types of crops that are suitable for planting based on soil and weather conditions. The results of the experiment show that the machine learning model can be used to predict the right types of plants to plant based on soil and weather conditions obtained through IoT.
