This research investigates the novel application of Dynamic Game Balancing (DGB) techniques in the context of a hybrid chess-survival roguelike game, a unique combination of genres not widely explored in previous studies. The study addresses two primary research questions: the identification of suitable DGB techniques for these genres and the enhancement of user experience through DGB. A game prototype was developed using Unity, where players control a chess knight in a turn-based system, facing increasingly challenging enemy pieces. The DGB system dynamically adjusts the game's difficulty based on player performance, utilizing various inputs such as damage received or dealt, health points, powerup usage, and decision speed. Preliminary results from 14 beta-testers show overall positive feedback, with players reporting higher engagement and enjoyment due to the seamless difficulty adjustments, as reflected by the high mean scores from surveys like the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). This research fills a gap in the literature by demonstrating the feasibility and benefits of integrating DGB in a chess-survival roguelike setting. These findings highlight the potential for DGB to significantly improve player experience in hybrid game genres, suggesting that its application can create more adaptive and immersive gaming environments in various other genres as well.

Enterprise Architecture Framework (EAF) is a commonly used framework and the best solution for addressing and defining the transformation that needs to be built to support business operations. To be able to make the transition quickly, many higher education institutions (HEIs) are starting to adopt EAF. This research aims to help the evolution and transpiration of enterprise architecture research in higher education. This research uses a systematic literature review (SLR) research method which includes several steps, namely identifying research questions, identifying research sources, using keywords to complete the data discovery process, disseminating data, and analyzing the results to answer research questions. The data used comes from digital libraries, especially Emerald Insight, IEEE Xplore Digital Library, and Science Direct. Data taken from 2019 to 2023 in RIS format will then be analyzed and visualized using VosViewer. The results of this research are to find the growth of research publications over five years, find research trends on enterprise architecture frameworks, identify relationships between scientific concepts, and determine the knowledge network of enterprise architecture frameworks based on keywords. © 2023 IEEE.

With the advancement of technology, information systems have become increasingly necessary in almost all areas, including healthcare. One of the technologies used to facilitate this progress is electronic medical records (EMRs). Although EMRs have improved service delivery and patient care in healthcare, they also pose risks to patient data due to cybercrime attacks, which can result in data theft and alteration of medical records. Medical identity theft has become a major issue in healthcare systems around the world, While technology has been beneficial in improving service delivery and patient care in healthcare, it has also introduced numerous risks to patient safety and ultimately impacted patient health. Cybersecurity issues have advanced with technology, thus increasing the rate at which medical identity thefts occur. The healthcare industry lags in curbing cybersecurity issues, and thus, it is vulnerable to many cyberattacks. To address these risks, techniques, and methods are needed to ensure the security of EMR systems against cybercrime attacks. This study used a literature review method and identified eleven articles that met inclusion and exclusion criteria. Through analysis of these articles, several techniques and methods were identified to secure the privacy system in EMRs, such as mIBE-AES, DES, and RSA methods. The literature review revealed that Encryption Data is the safest technique to use, as it is standardized, widely accessible, and cost-effective. Furthermore, mIBE-AES is the safest method for EMRs because it is both secure and efficient for storing medical record documents. Performance evaluations were conducted to test the level of security against cybercrime attacks. © 2023 IEEE.

Image descriptions are crucial in assisting individuals without eyesight by providing verbal representations of visual content. While manual and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-generated descriptions exist, automatic description generators have not fully met the needs of visually impaired People. In this study, we have examined the problems related to image descriptions reported in existing literature using the Snowballing technique. Through this method, we have identified thirteen issues, including ethical concerns surrounding physical appearance, gender and identity, race, and disability. Furthermore, we have identified five reasons why sighted Individuals often fail to provide descriptions for visual content, highlighting the necessity for accessibility campaigns that raise awareness about the social significance of descriptive sentences. We conducted interviews with eight low-vision volunteers, in which we analyzed the characteristics of descriptive sentences for 25 indoor images and gathered participants’ expectations regarding image descriptions. As a result, we propose a set of Good Practices for writing descriptive sentences aimed to assist automatic tools and sighted Individuals in generating more satisfactory and high-quality image descriptions. We hope our results will emphasize the societal importance of imagery descriptions and inspire the community to pursue further interdisciplinary research to address the issues identified in our study.

Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) is a condition that often precedes dementia, making early diagnosis critical for delaying cognitive decline. Electroencephalography (EEG) has emerged as a non-invasive, cost-effective tool for monitoring brain activity and detecting MCI. This paper overviews recent advancements in machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) models for EEG-based MCI diagnosis. Traditional ML approaches, such as support vector machines (SVM) and K-nearest neighbors (KNN), have been widely used but rely on manually extracted features and face challenges with the complex nature of EEG signals. In contrast, DL models like convolutional neural networks (CNNs), long short-term memory (LSTM) networks, and transformers have shown promise in automatically learning features and capturing temporal and spatial information from EEG data. Despite these advancements, issues such as small dataset sizes and variability in EEG recordings remain barriers to clinical application. This paper discusses these challenges and highlights potential future directions for improving the diagnosis of MCI. © 2025 IEEE.

This study examines the integration of personalized gamification as a strategy to increase student engagement and academic performance, based on the analysis of behavioral profiles and game user personas. Using Detroit: Become Human as a tool to identify collaborative and competitive tendencies, the research aims to address the limitations of traditional methods, which often fail to engage students. The application of Game Theory, combined with the personalization of pedagogical interventions according to each student's profile, enabled the creation of more adapted and motivating approaches. The final results indicate a significant improvement in grades and student engagement levels, with 38.6% of students who were initially below average reaching or exceeding expected performance, along with a marked increase in interest in classroom participation. These findings reinforce the potential of gamified and personalized methodologies to transform the educational experience, adapting it to the individual traits and needs of students. The voice patterns of gender and age have been used as speaker's identity and implied into sectors such as smart cards, healthcare, banking, and other security access controls. However, age, illness, and ambient noise factors exist challenging issues of voice changes in speech recognition systems to be resolved. This paper presents experiment results of observing those issues, and its goal was obtaining the elements of voice features to secure the speaker's identity. Mel-frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) was used to conduct observations on spectral centroid and bandwidth, it has effectively performed capturing features of individual speech signal. The experiment was conducted with data split into three groups: under 13, range 13 to 19, and above 19 years old for both male and female. The results showed that both gender under 13 have centroid voices reached to 98%, age of 13 to 19 remain with centroid reached 98% of bandwidth for male and passing over 100% for female, then above 19 for both genders speak lower with centroid 50% of bandwidth, and male above age of 19 remains to keep centroid about 50% and female changes to 95%. MFCC fits to expose the speech spectrum for the purpose of an analysis frame on specific local spectral properties of voices, and the finding is to form a security line or an individual profiling adoption. © 2022 IEEE.

Automation testing is essential to carry out functional testing quickly and precisely. Software testing is beneficial for testers doing many testing processes according to the existing scenarios. So, there is an urgency to explore a more advanced solution to replace the traditional approach. Silk Test Workbench is a tool for automation testing that can accelerate the functional testing of complex applications. For this research, we proposed automation testing on website applications with various testing scenarios that have been made. The visual test recording method is used for automation testing with Silk Test Workbench. Silk Test Workbench can speed up testing time, make a good test asset testing scenario, make it easier for users to do testing, and speed up the process to get the result in the form of a screen capture of the testing process. A comparison of testing time has been performed. The automatic testing time with the scenarios is 2 hours 46 minutes. The automatic testing time will be 2 hours 36 minutes using the all-in-one scenario. This study also used questionnaires from colleagues in the Quality Assurance field to get maximum User Acceptance Test results. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

Early detection of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) needs to be increased to prevent further adverse impacts. Thus, the classification between ASD and Typically Development (TD) individuals is an intriguing task. This review study has collected 26 related papers to answer four research questions, i.e., what are the most used data inputs, brain atlases, and machine learning models for ASD classification, as also to discover the significant parts of the brain correlated with the ASD. It was eventually found that functional connectivity matrix, Support Vector Machine, and CC200 are the most frequently used data input, model, and brain atlas, respectively. Researchers also concluded that the posterior temporal fusiform cortex, intracalcarine cortex, cuneal cortex, subcallosal cortex, occipital pole, and lateral occipital cortex are the brain regions highly correlated with ASD. © 2023 The Authors. TikTok, a social networking site for uploading short videos, has become one of the most popular. Despite this, not all users are happy with the app;there are criticisms and suggestions, one of which is reviewed via the TikTok app on the Google Play Store. The reviews were extracted and then used for training a sentiment analysis model. The VADER sentiment method was utilized to offer the review's initial labeling (positive, neutral, and negative). The result revealed that most reviews were classified as positive, meaning that the data were imbalanced and challenging to handle in further analysis. Therefore, Random Under-sampling (RUS) and Random Over-sampling (ROS) methods were deployed to deal with that condition. The labeled reviews were subsequently pre-processed using tools such as case folding, noise removal, normalization, and stopwords before being used for training a Support Vector Machine (SVM) model for sentiment classification. The SVM trained without resampling produced the most favorable results, with an F1-score of 0.80. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.
