Simulation-based learning is one of the most powerful tools to support the educational process. This learning offers an opportunity to learn based on experiences that are very similar to real-world environments. In the context of logistics, which can be considered a complex system, significant efforts are required to enhance students' understanding and practical skills. For that reason, simulations are used so that benefits such as skills and knowledge in the field of logistics can be achieved. However, there are currently several challenges in developing simulation-based learning in higher education. These challenges include the need for simulations that are appropriate for the current learning context, where the students are generally from Generation Z, and how to improve their learning quality in the era of Industry 4.0. To address these challenges, more suitable simulations need to be developed, and higher education institutions must carefully examine how to develop them, including identifying the essential components in the development of simulations for logistics learning. In this research, a systematic literature review using the PRISMA method and also creating a conceptual model of simulation that better meets the current needs of logistics education will be proposed. The results of this research can be used as a basis for developing updated simulations to better prepare students for the challenges of Industry 4.0.

The development of technology and artificial intelligence, especially in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 almost covers all fields, one of which is e-learning. In its development, it is very important to determine the factors to produce the quality of e-learning. Machine learning can help to find various solutions in the real world, especially to solve problems for which a specific algorithm has not been found. The implementation of e-learning is often ineffective and not on target which has an impact on learning achievement that is not achieved, this is due to several things namely the learning model is applied in general, the learning materials and weights are applied equally to all users. Seeing these problems, it is necessary to have a model to classify students according to their abilities, talents, and interests before starting learning to achieve their goals to be achieved. This paper aims to create a machine learning approach model to determine the level of ability and needs of students before starting learning which can reduce disparities between students and follow up learning materials. With the machine learning based on learning model, e-learning can provide teaching materials according to the abilities, and interests of students, sustainably and improve the quality of students. © 2022 IEEE.

As cybersecurity threats evolve alarmingly, conventional defense strategies are becoming increasingly ineffective. In response to this urgent challenge, our study presents a transformative approach to red-teaming exercises by integrating the MITRE ATT&CK framework. This innovative integration leverages real-world attacker tactics and behaviors to create highly realistic scenarios that rigorously test defenses and uncover previously unidentified vulnerabilities. Our comprehensive evaluation demonstrates a significant enhancement in the realism and effectiveness of red-teaming, leading to improved vulnerability identification and the generation of actionable insights for proactive remediation. This study uniquely contributes by providing a structured, data-driven methodology that aligns current defenses with emerging threat tactics and promotes continuous improvement in cybersecurity resilience. Such advancements are essential for organizations seeking to stay ahead of attackers and maintain robust cyber defenses in dynamic threat environments. The significance of this study lies in offering a structured approach to strengthen cybersecurity resilience against evolving threats and providing a model for continual defense enhancement. Emotion Recognition is one field that is taking the world by storm in this current age. Multimodal emotion recognition has shown promising results however, previous studies shows that recognition using speech is a field has not performed that greatly. Previous research used popular methods such as CNN, RNN, and other machine learning methods has been used to achieved good results with the help of other modality, where if speech were to be used alone the results won't be as good. A factor that contributes to the result of the speech modality not performing as well is the fact of the dataset and the way it was processed. Therefore, this research looks into what makes speech one of the lowest performing modalities by preprocessing the dataset using a different method than previous researches as well as using a CNN model paired with a Transformer model. Results achieved from this research showed an improvement when using IEMOCAP by 8.09% and MELD by 1.06%. A comparison results of using the pre-processed data with previous studies model was also done to compare the results. In conclusion, this research has explored a different preprocessing method and deep learning model that has achieved results better than previous works with the same dataset.

The growing focus on microcredentials emphasizes the urgent need for precise and widely accepted definitions, as existing uncertainties hinder their effective implementation. This research aims to investigate the comprehension of microcredentials definitions in the context of higher education by conducting a systematic literature review. The goal is to identify current definitions of microcredentials to facilitate standardization initiatives. Following The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology to systematically search in Scopus database within 2019-2024 resulting $\mathbf{9 4 0}$ articles, by removing the duplicates, $\mathbf{2 8 0}$ articles were initially reviewed, with 29 selected for detailed thematic analysis based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. By adapting the six phases of thematic analysis, selected articles were identified analyzed, organized, described, and themes found the data set were reported. Key findings reveal that, while a universally accepted definition is lacking, common themes emerge: microcredentials are competency-based, modular, portable, stackable, and often include quality assurance. These attributes highlight microcredentials as valuable for upskilling and reskilling in a flexible manner. The study concludes that establishing standard definitions can increase the recognition and utility of microcredentials across educational and professional sectors and recommends further research to strengthen core elements for consistency.

The security closure of integrated circuits (ICs) is an emerging area of research within the very large scale integration (VLSI) community. Malicious third parties, referred to as "attackers", can employ various techniques to leak, alter, or manipulate the logic of a circuit. When targeting a completed layout, their primary goal is often the insertion of hardware trojans. In this work, we present algorithms that strengthen placement solutions against hardware trojan attacks. While state-of-the-art methods rely on exhaustive placement algorithms, we propose a clustering-based placement approach that reduces the number of moved cells by up to 17%. Additionally, we introduce a cell movement heuristic aimed at preventing increases in wirelength. Our methods reduce vulnerable placement sites by up to 78% while maintaining minimal impact on design performance. Compared to other approaches, our solution decreases the amount of moved cells to an average of 8%, mitigating the impact on wirelength to an average of 0.5%. © 1982-2012 IEEE.

Pupillometry measures pupil size, and several open-source algorithms are available to analyse pupillometry data. However, only a few studies compared these algorithms’ accuracy and computational resources. This study aims to compare the accuracy of computer vision-based algorithms (Swirski, Starburst, PuRe, ElSe, ExCuSe algorithms) and the machine learning algorithm, DeepLabCut, to the double-blinded human examiners (gold-standard). Training of DeepLabCut with different architectures and a variable number of markers (2-9 markers) was done on an open-source dataset. The duration of training was statistically longer for the ResNet152 model compared to the MobileNet model. The pupil diameters in computer vision-based software such as PuRe, Starburst, and Swirski were statistically different from human measurements. MobileNet 2 and 3 marker models were the closest to the human measurements. In conclusion, this work highlights the efficiency of lower marker models based on MobileNet architecture in DeepLabCut, which consumes fewer computational resources and is more accurate. © 2024 Institute of Information Technology, Warsaw University of Life Sciences - SGGW. The existence of fine-grained image classification supporting smart retail provides effectiveness in recognizing products with high similarity. However, the generic classification method performs poorly in identifying products from a subordinate category. This paper aims to identify augmentation techniques to leverage the Vision Transformer (ViT) model to classify the fine-grained grocery product, which involves embedding patches and transformer encoders to extract the main features. First, we develop a fine-grained image dataset with ColorJitter, CutOut, and combining both augmentations. Secondly, we perform experiments and analysis of ViT size, embedded patch size and image size in the patch embedding process. Lastly, the ViT model are evaluated according to the image sizes 224, 384, and 512 in accuracy, loss, and confusion matrix. The highest accuracy was obtained at 0.9922. The ColorJitter and CutOut improved the confusion matrix in ViT-B/16 and ViT-L/16 with an image size of 384 and 512. The results show that both augmentations in the ViT model are able to distinguish fine-grained grocery products. © 2023 IEEE.

SFA-Net: A Selective Features Absorption Network for Object Detection in Rainy Weather Conditions

In recent years, object detection approaches using deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have derived major advances in normal images. However, such success is hardly achieved with rainy images due to lack of visibility. Aiming to bridge this gap, in this article, we present a novel selective features absorption network (SFA-Net) to improve the performance of object detection not only in rainy weather conditions but also in favorable weather conditions. SFA-Net accomplishes this objective by utilizing three subnetworks, where the feature selection subnetwork is concatenated with the object detection subnetwork through the feature absorption subnetwork to form a unified model. To promote further advancement in object detection impaired by rain, we propose a large-scale rainy image dataset, named srRain, which contains both synthetic rainy images and real-world rainy images for training and testing purposes. srRain is comprised of 25 900 rainy images depicting diverse driving scenarios in the presence of rain with a total of 181 164 instances interpreting five common object categories. Experimental results display that our SFA-Net reaches the highest mean average precision (mAP) of 77.53% on a normal image set, 62.52% on a synthetic rainy image set, 37.34% on a collected natural rainy image set, and 32.86% on a published real rainy image set, surpassing current state-of-the-art object detectors and the combination of image deraining and object detection models while retaining a high speed. © 2012 IEEE.
