Understanding the reliability of engineering methods is crucial for its adoption and deployment. This research focuses on the reliability of the Power Spectral Density (PSD) method via the use of the F statistic for damage detection. To the author best knowledge, the method is rather classic but its realibility has not been discussed in the context of a large data size. Priory, the research anticipates that the accuracy is a function of the damage level. In this study, we evaluate 3500 cases with five levels of structural integrity, namely, healthy condition and damaged conditions with 1%, 5%, 10%, and 20% damage levels. The dataset is established via a numerical analysis of a seven degree-of-freedom system loaded with a concentrated dynamic force with random magnitude. A spring on the system is reduced in its stiffness to simulate damages. Our significant findings are the following: it is challenging for the PSD-based method to differentiate the healthy condition from the damaged conditions when the damage level is small. However, the reliability is high at 95% probability when the structural integrity has dropped by five percent.

Object tracking is one of the most important things in intelligent vision system. Meanwhile, the most challenging issue in object tracking is how to keep the target's identity unchangeable with limited power consumption. In this paper, we propose a real-time and online tracking method to track multiple types of objects (e.g. pedestrian and car). Furthermore, to handle the ID switching problem, we provide a lightweight deep learning model which can recognize the similarity of objects. It can effectively solve the ID switching problem resulted from occlusion. Finally, we do some experiments to demonstrate that the proposed method achieves the state-of-the-art performance with less power consumption. The proposed method can solve the problem of high computation of tracking and keep the high accuracy of counting results with low ID switching rate. The experimental result shows that the average counting accuracy of the proposed method can reach more than 93% on pedestrian and vehicle counting applications. Also, it shows that the proposed method improves 68.2% on average of ID switching rate than previous works.

HiChIP enables cost-effective and high-resolution profiling of chromatin loops. To leverage the increasing number of HiChIP datasets, we develop Loop Catalog ( https://*** ), a web-based database featuring loop calls from over 1000 distinct human and mouse HiChIP samples from 152 studies plus 44 high-resolution Hi-C samples. We demonstrate its utility for interpreting GWAS and eQTL variants through SNP-to-gene linking, identifying enriched sequence motifs and motif pairs, and generating regulatory networks and 2D representations of chromatin structure. Our catalog spans more than 4.19M unique loops, and with embedded analysis modules, constitutes an important resource for the field.

KAGRA, the underground and cryogenic gravitational-wave detector, was operated for its solo observation from February 25 to March 10, 2020, and its first joint observation with the GEO 600 detector from April 7 to April 21, 2020 (O3GK). This study presents an overview of the input optics systems of the KAGRA detector, which consist of various optical systems, such as a laser source, its intensity and frequency stabilization systems, modulators, a Faraday isolator, mode-matching telescopes, and a high-power beam dump. These optics were successfully delivered to the KAGRA interferometer and operated stably during the observations. The laser frequency noise was observed to limit the detector sensitivity above a few kilohertz, whereas the laser intensity did not significantly limit the detector sensitivity.

Atomically precise epitaxial structures are unique systems for tunneling spectroscopy that minimize extrinsic effects of disorder. We present a systematic tunneling spectroscopy study, over a broad doping, temperature, and bias range, in epitaxial c-axis La2−xSrxCuO4/La2CuO4/La2−xSrxCuO4 heterostructures. The behavior of these superconductor/insulator/superconductor (SIS) devices is unusual. Down to 20 mK there is complete suppression of c-axis Josephson critical current with a barrier of only 2 nm of La2CuO4, and the zero-bias conductance remains at 20–30% of the normal-state conductance, implying a substantial population of in-gap states. Tunneling spectra show greatly suppressed coherence peaks. As the temperature is raised, the superconducting gap fills in rather than closing at Tc. For all doping levels, the spectra show an inelastic tunneling feature at ∼80 meV, suppressed as T exceeds Tc. These nominally simple epitaxial cuprate junctions deviate markedly from expectations based on the standard Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer theory.
