The use of balanced medical datasets is essential to improve the precision and accuracy of machine learning models in the healthcare field. However, dataset imbalance often becomes an obstacle, especially in the diagnosis of skin diseases. This research aims to develop a Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) method that is more effective in generating synthetic skin datasets to overcome problems in integrating medical datasets. The methods used include developing and training a GAN model to produce realistic synthetic skin images, with a focus on improving the quality and diversity of the synthetic data produced. Important results from this research show that the developed GAN model is able to produce synthetic skin images that are not only realistic but also able to balance the original dataset. The implications of these findings include improving the accuracy and performance of machine learning models in the diagnosis of skin diseases, as well as the potential use of these methods in other medical fields that face similar problems with imbalanced datasets.

In agricultural water research, the adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has emerged as a pivotal approach for large-scale data collection. Water availability in the context of water quality is very important, both for domestic and industrial purposes. For domestic purposes, drinking water and bathing water are separated. Meanwhile, for the palm oil industry, boiler filler is differentiated from additional process water (dilution water). Water quality parameters can be assessed from turbidity and Total Dissolve Solid (TDS). Measurements using measuring instruments separately and repeatedly require significant energy, time, and costs. This research was conducted with the primary objective of presenting a novel method for categorizing water quality with the approach of IoT sensor technology. The research methodology entailed the utilization of an integrated IoT water sensors system in conjunction with manual water categorization. The methods consist of (1) system design, (2) design and installation of sensor and IoT-based microcontrollers, and (3) accuracy and precision testing compared with laboratory measurements. The precision of the integrated IoT water sensors was assessed through a dedicated sensor precision test, resulting in an accuracy rate of 94.4% for the turbidity sensor and 97.5% for the TDS sensor. Notably, this approach successfully discriminated drinking water with valid categorization, while other water types, including groundwater, water with tea, and water with coffee, yielded null categorization results. © 2023 IEEE.

Exams are an important component of any educational program, including online education. In any test, there is a possibility of cheating, so its detection and prevention is important. This study aims to conduct an in-depth study of the online exam monitoring model approach based on facial recognition used to detect cheating. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria designed, 13 selected studies were obtained. From these studies, we conducted further analysis regarding the Face Detection Method, Face Recognition Method, Initial Feature, Behavior Analysis and Evaluation Metrics used in each study so as to provide answers to research questions. the most frequently used Face detection method was Viola-Jones with a presentation of 20%, then CNN and MTCNN with a total presentation of 21%. The most widely used face recognition method in selected studies is CNN and metrics Accuracy is one of the most frequently used evaluations with a percentage of 33%. While the features that are usually used to detect cheating during online exams include facial motion and head pose which occupies the first position. The second is eye movement, then multiple faces gaze estimation and facial expression is in third place. Other features that also play a role in analyzing cheating behavior are mouth detection, facial vector, landmark location, gesture and posture.

In general, public or private organizations or companies have used information-based technology as a support to improve business performance to be more effective and efficient in order to achieve a company’s business goals. Given the large contribution of information technology in the application of hotel applications as a supporting information system, it is a vital system that must avoid risks that can hinder and cause harm to the hotel management business processes. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out risk management using the COBIT 5 framework to manage possible risks that may occur based on the APO12 (Manage Risk) domain. From the evaluation results of the data obtained through observation and interviews as well as the calculation of the results of the questionnaire based on 6 APO12 subdomains, the results of the risk management level capability assessment in hotel applications are still at level 3 or have reached the level of established process with the target to be achieved at level 4 resulting in a gap of 1 level. Based on the results obtained, it is necessary to propose recommendations that can be used by hotels in improving the application of information technology risk management so that in the future it can achieve the expected target level so that the APO12 level of capability can increase and become more optimal.

This article conducts a comprehensive examination of brand-based equity closely linked to environmental sustainability in the Amazon Rainforest. The research is primarily dedicated to identifying the factors that influence consumers’ willingness to purchase products from sustainable brands within six categories: cosmetics, tourism, clothing, accessories, and food. The central aim of this study is to investigate how brand equity constructs, rooted in environmental sustainability within the Amazon Rainforest, impact consumer loyalty and purchase intention. To accomplish this objective, a mixed-methodology approach was employed, combining structural equation modeling with item response theory. This study involved 535 potential consumers, and data from eight selected brands served as the basis for the analysis. Within the framework of Purchase Intention (PI), the following variables were regarded as formative constructs: Strategic Brand Positioning (SBP), Perceived Brand Quality (PBQ), Retail Innovation (RI), and Brand Authenticity (BA). The results obtained from the structural equation models underscore the statistical significance and substantial impact of all pathways. Notably, SBP emerged as the most significant contributor to the effect on PI, as hypothesized. Brand equity and environmental sustainability were found to indirectly affect behavioral PI. Consumers exhibited a high level of latent trait (θ), with items consistently reflecting elevated values, confirming their acceptance of products, except brand differentiation. Overall, the findings highlight the effectiveness of branding strategies rooted in environmental sustainability in enhancing the brand equity of small forest companies. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

Early recognition of clinical deterioration (CD) has vital importance in patients’ survival from exacerbation or death. Electronic health records (EHRs) data have been widely employed in Early Warning Scores (EWS) to measure CD risk in hospitalized patients. Recently, EHRs data have been utilized in Machine Learning (ML) models to predict mortality and CD. The ML models have shown superior performance in CD prediction compared to EWS. Since EHRs data are structured and tabular, conventional ML models are generally applied to them, and less effort is put into evaluating the artificial neural network’s performance on EHRs data. Thus, in this article, an extremely boosted neural network (XBNet) is used to predict CD, and its performance is compared to eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) and random forest (RF) models. For this purpose, 103,105 samples from thirteen Brazilian hospitals are used to generate the models. Moreover, the principal component analysis (PCA) is employed to verify whether it can improve the adopted models’ performance. The performance of ML models and Modified Early Warning Score (MEWS), an EWS candidate, are evaluated in CD prediction regarding the accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and geometric mean (G-mean) metrics in a 10-fold cross-validation approach. Task oriented chatbots are a sub-topic related to chatbots, where chatbots will perform certain tasks with specific goals. One part of creating a task-oriented chatbot is doing intent classification. Intent classification is a task of text classification. As in general text classification, the required dataset requires a label to carry out the classification process. To speed up and help the utterance analysis process, there is already a method, namely clustering, and Density-based clustering is a part of clustering that can determine cluster patterns based on arbitrary data, with DBScan as one of its algorithms. This research used 10000 client utterance data of awhatsapp based e-commerce conversation. SentenceBert also used as a state of art sentence embedding. This research yield silhouette score of 0.327 as the best result from eps of 0.1 and MinPts of 95. However, based on the cluster result, sentences labelled as noise can be further clustered. Text Preprocessing, text augmentation and sentence embedding techniques can be explored to increase the cluster performance.

The rapid advancement of AI has led to the rise of Audio Deepfakes (AD), which pose serious ethical and security concerns by accurately mimicking human speech. This research addresses the urgent need for effective AD detection, with a focus on gender bias that can reduce the effectiveness of detection models. We examined how gender affects the performance of both Machine Learning (Support Vector Machine, Random Forest, Logistic Regression, XGBoost) and Deep Learning (Deep Neural Networks, Convolutional Neural Networks) models using the GBAD dataset. Our findings show that models trained on female audio outperform those trained on male audio, likely due to the expressive nature of female voice features and high-pitched artifacts in FAKE audio. This highlights the need for more robust, gender-sensitive detection systems. Future work should focus on developing adaptive models to reduce gender bias, improving security, and creating lightweight models for wider public use.

The human brain can effortlessly imagine a 3D image from only 2D images with a little expertise and imagination, but for machines, this is not a trivial task. Because of this, reconstructing 3D images from 2D ones is a hot topic and has many applications. In this paper, we propose a Generative Adversarial Network (GAN)-based approach that generates CT-like images using pairs of orthogonal X-ray projections taken from different angles. In this work, a variety of orthogonal pairs from different angles, ranging from 0°&90° to 60°&150°, were considered as input to the 3D image generation model. The effectiveness of the proposed method was assessed by measuring the Structural Similarity Index (SSIM) and Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), which resulted in values of 0.641 and 29.21, respectively. Furthermore, the model's ability to capture the respiratory motion in the input projections and reflect it in the generated images was also assessed. This work demonstrated the feasibility of generating CT-like images from X-ray projections captured from different orthogonal angles taking into consideration the respiratory motion exhibited in these projections.
