There are several ways to deal with security issues of confidential data sent via the internet, including using cryptographic techniques and steganography. Steganography is the science and art of concealing information / messages in a media in such a way that its existence is not detected by other parties who are not entitled to the information. Instead, cryptography disguises the meaning of a message, but does not hide that there is a message because the file looks suspicious. The Steganography technique used here was End Of File (EOF). The EOF technique described how to add data or files at the end of the image file. For this technique, the size of data or files that will be hidden could be larger than the size of the image file. The hidden data will be inserted at the end of the file so that it will not affect the image. This steganography application is also equipped with a cryptographic function Data Encryption Standard (DES) at the time of insertion of data that functions as a generator code and encrypts data, so that the security of a data in the file is more protected and protected from those who are not entitled to know the data. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper purposes comparing the view of system builder (expert system) using analitycal hierarchy process (AHP) and view of user (students) using regression method in elearning system STIKes-STMIK Hang Tuah Pekanbaru. This study uses some attributes to analyze and evaluate which affect the acceptance of elearning system success. In AHP, the attributes are categorized as criteria and grouped into some dimensions. These criteria and dimenssions are evaluated by some experts using analitycal hierarchy process (AHP) to assess priorities for elearning system. There are four dimensions, system quality (four criteria), learning information quality (three criteria), service quality (three criteria) and service support (three criteria) dimension. This system is also evaluated by filling out the questionnaire by students as user of elearning system using regression method. The attributes are used as independent variable, while the succesfull of elearning is dependent variable. The result of using AHP and regression system has a different. It also can show there are different view between users and system builder which should be considered by STIKes-STMIK Hang Tuah Pekanbaru.

Chirality is a ubiquitous phenomenon in the natural world. Many biomolecules without inversion symmetry such as amino acids and sugars are chiral molecules. Measuring and controlling molecular chirality at a high precision down to the atomic scale are highly desired in physics, chemistry, biology, and medicine, however, have remained challenging. Herein, we achieve all-optical reconfigurable chiral meta-molecules experimentally using metallic and dielectric colloidal particles as artificial atoms or building blocks to serve at least two purposes. One is that the on-demand meta-molecules with strongly enhanced optical chirality are well-suited as substrates for surface-enhanced chiroptical spectroscopy of chiral molecules and as active components in optofluidic and nanophotonic devices. The other is that the bottom-up-assembled colloidal meta-molecules provide microscopic models to better understand the origin of chirality in the actual atomic and molecular systems. An automatic nuclei segmentation method based on deep convolutional neural networks for histopathology images

BACKGROUND:Since nuclei segmentation in histopathology images can provide key information for identifying the presence or stage of a disease, the images need to be assessed carefully. However, color variation in histopathology images, and various structures of nuclei are two major obstacles in accurately segmenting and analyzing histopathology images. Several machine learning methods heavily rely on hand-crafted features which have limitations due to manual thresholding. RESULTS:To obtain robust results, deep learning based methods have been proposed. Deep convolutional neural networks (DCNN) used for automatically extracting features from raw image data have been proven to achieve great performance. Inspired by such achievements, we propose a nuclei segmentation method based on DCNNs. To normalize the color of histopathology images, we use a deep convolutional Gaussian mixture color normalization model which is able to cluster pixels while considering the structures of nuclei. To segment nuclei, we use Mask R-CNN which achieves state-of-the-art object segmentation performance in the field of computer vision. In addition, we perform multiple inference as a post-processing step to boost segmentation performance. We evaluate our segmentation method on two different datasets. The first dataset consists of histopathology images of various organ while the other consists histopathology images of the same organ. Performance of our segmentation method is measured in various experimental setups at the object-level and the pixel-level. In addition, we compare the performance of our method with that of existing state-of-the-art methods. The experimental results show that our nuclei segmentation method outperforms the existing methods. CONCLUSIONS:We propose a nuclei segmentation method based on DCNNs for histopathology images. In clinical diagnosis of mood disorder, a large portion of bipolar disorder patients (BDs) are misdiagnosed as unipolar depression (UDs). Clinicians have confirmed that BDs generally show "reduced affect'' during clinical treatment. Thus, it is expected to build an objective and one-time diagnosis system for diagnosis assistance by using machine-learning techniques. In this study, facial expressions of BD, UD and control group (C) elicited by emotional video clips are collected for exploring temporal fluctuation characteristics of intensities of facial muscles expression among the three groups. The differences of facial expressions among mood disorders are investigated by observing macroscopic fluctuations. To deal with these problems, the corresponding methods for feature extraction and modeling are proposed. From the viewpoint of macroscopic facial expression, action unit (AU) is applied for describing the temporal transformation of muscles. Then, modulation spectrum is used for extracting short-term variation of AU. The multilayer perceptron (MLP)-based disorder prediction model is then applied to obtain the prediction results. For evaluation of the proposed method, 12 subjects for three group are included in the K-fold (K=12) cross validation experiments. The experiment results reached 61.1% classification accuracy, and outperformed the other baseline methods.

The Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) is a fast and efficient learning algorithm for single-hidden layer feedforward neural networks (SLFN). Recently, with the increase in data volume in real-world applications, and the need to process data from streaming, two problems have become recurrent in data classification: it is not possible to gather all the necessary data before training the algorithms, and it is difficult to manually label the data for the classification tasks. To address these problems, many variations of ELM have been proposed to allow semi-supervised learning, online sequential learning, or both. In this paper, we propose a variation of ELM called Semi-Supervised Online Elastic Extreme Learning Machine (SSOE-ELM), an algorithm that uses both labeled and unlabeled data to learn in an online sequential way (chunk-by-chunk). We compare our approach to the SOS-ELM in several benchmarks. Our experimental results show that SSOE-ELM outperforms SOS-ELM in accuracy, generalization ability and in training speed.

This study proposes a long-short term memory (LSTM)-based approach to text emotion recognition based on semantic word vector and emotional word vector of the input text. For each word in an input text, the semantic word vector is extracted from the word 2vec model. Besides, each lexical word is projected to all the emotional words defined in an affective lexicon to derive an emotional word vector. An autoencoder is then adopted to obtain the bottleneck features from the emotional word vector for dimensionality reduction. The autoencoder bottleneck features are then concatenated with the features in the semantic word vector to form the final textual features for emotion recognition. Finally, given the textual feature sequence of the entire sentence, the LSTM is used for emotion recognition by modeling the contextual emotion evolution of the input text. For evaluation, the NLPCC-MHMC-TE database containing seven emotion categories: anger, boredom, disgust, anxiety, happiness, sadness, and surprise was constructed and used. Five-fold cross-validation was employed to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. Experimental results show that the proposed LSTM-based method achieved a recognition accuracy of 70.66%, improving 5.33% compared with the CNN-based method. Besides, the proposed method based on integration of the semantic word vector and emotional word vector of the input text outperformed that using the individual feature vector.

Generative adversarial network (GAN) has achieved impressive success on cross-domain generation, but it faces difficulty in cross-modal generation due to the lack of a common distribution between heterogeneous data. Most existing methods of conditional based cross-modal GANs adopt the strategy of one-directional transfer and have achieved preliminary success on text-to-image transfer. Instead of learning the transfer between different modalities, we aim to learn a synchronous latent space representing the cross-modal common concept. A novel network component named synchronizer is proposed in this work to judge whether the paired data is synchronous/corresponding or not, which can constrain the latent space of generators in the GANs. Our GAN model, named as SyncGAN, can successfully generate synchronous data (e.g., a pair of image and sound) from identical random noise. For transforming data from one modality to another, we recover the latent code by inverting the mappings of a generator and use it to generate data of different modality. In addition, the proposed model can achieve semi-supervised learning, which makes our model more flexible for practical applications.

Understanding the circumstances that lead to pandemics is important for their prevention. Here, we analyze the genomic diversity of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) early in the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. We show that SARS-CoV-2 genomic diversity before February 2020 likely comprised only two distinct viral lineages, denoted A and B. Phylodynamic rooting methods, coupled with epidemic simulations, reveal that these lineages were the result of at least two separate cross-species transmission events into humans. The first zoonotic transmission likely involved lineage B viruses around 18 November 2019 (23 October-8 December), while the separate introduction of lineage A likely occurred within weeks of this event.
