The escalating visibility of secure direct object reference (IDOR) vulnerabilities in API security, as indicated in the compilation of OWASP Top 10 API Security Risks, highlights a noteworthy peril to sensitive data. This study explores IDOR vulnerabilities found within Android APIs, intending to clarify their inception while evaluating their implications for application security. This study combined the qualitative and quantitative approaches. Insights were obtained from an actual penetration test on an Android app into the primary reasons for IDOR vulnerabilities, underscoring insufficient input validation and weak authorization methods. We stress the frequent occurrence of IDOR vulnerabilities in the OWASP Top 10 API vulnerability list, highlighting the necessity to prioritize them in security evaluations. There are mitigation recommendations available for developers, which recognize its limitations involving a possibly small and homogeneous selection of tested Android applications, the testing environment that could cause some inaccuracies, and the impact of time constraints. Additionally, the study noted insufficient threat modeling and root cause analysis, affecting its generalizability and real-world relevance. However, comprehending and controlling IDOR dangers can enhance Android API security, protect user data, and bolster application resilience.

Many individuals now trade online utilizing trading software in the digital world. Binomo is one of Indonesia's most popular trading platforms. This is because some influencers made several promises to Binomo customers. Since many customers were deceived, this case became quite popular. This study was executed to see how Indonesians felt about the Binomo application after the case went viral. The solution taken was in the form of sentiment analysis because there had been no previous research on sentiment analysis that discussed the Binomo case. The data was scanned using Netlytic tools, a cloud-based text and social network analyzer capable of identifying any talks on social media sites such as Twitter. The sentiment analysis of Binomo trading tweets by using the Multi-Perspective Question Answering lexicon utilized the KNIME tool. But unfortunately, the accuracy of sentiment analysis results is low. Furthermore, the Support Vector Machine technique is also being conducted. The Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency method is applied to perform feature extraction whilst the chi-square approach is utilized to identify features that are thought to be useful for inclusion in the classification process and to exclude features that are irrelevant to the target class. The obtained accuracy is 86%. The study proposes that words from the algorithm's outputs can be utilized to improve the quality of sentiment analysis using the lexicon. As an outcome of the algorithm, positive and negative terms are added to the lexicon, increasing the accuracy of sentiment analysis using the new vocabulary from 58.984% to 71.146%.

computer vision has been used in many areas such as medical, transportation, military, geography, etc. The fast development of sensor devices inside camera and satellite provides not only red-greed-blue (RGB) images but also multispectral dataset with some channels including RGB, infrared, short-wave, and thermal wave. Most of the dataset is panchromatic (black and white) and RGB, for example Google Map and other satellite-based map applications. This study examines the effects of multispectral dataset for semantic segmentation of land cover. The comparison between RGB with band 2 to band 7 of Landsat 8 Satellite shows an improvement of accuracy from 90.283 to 94.473 for U-Net and from 91.76 to 95.183 for DeepLabV3+. In addition, this research also compares two well-known semantic segmentation methods, namely U-Net and DeepLabV3+, that shown that DeepLabV3+ outperformed U-Net regarding to speed and accuracy. Testing was conducted in the Karawang Regency area, West Java, Indonesia. © 2023 IEEE.

In the digital age, streaming platforms have revolutionized how we access and interact with music, highlighting the need for more intuitive ways to organize and categorize our ever-growing music collections. The challenge lies in effectively classifying tracks into similar genres and styles to enhance user experience through improved music discovery and recommendation. In this context, machine learning stands out as a powerful tool. Traditional research in the field focuses on the auditory characteristics of music, such as timbre and rhythm. Nevertheless, the incorporation of spectrogram analysis introduces a richer layer of data representation, capturing the intricate musical textures that distinguish genres. This study proposes a novel approach to music genre classification, leveraging classic machine learning algorithms and the recently proposed contrastive dissimilarity method. Our methodology, which involves a detailed examination of spectrograms and the use of conventional feature extraction methods such as Local Binary Patterns (LBP), Local Phase Quantization (LPQ), Binarized Statistical Image Features (BSIF), and Oriented Basic Image Features (OBIF), combined with deep neural embeddings estimated using the contrastive dissimilarity method, offers a more comprehensive and accurate way to classify music genres. Our comparative analysis, conducted on three benchmark music genre datasets - GTZAN, Latin Music Database, and ISMIR 2004 - demonstrates promising results that approach the performance of current state-of-the-art methods.

The Internet of Things (IoT) was evaluated as part of this study. The IoT system in this study is the air quality monitoring system. The system consists of three layers, three end devices with air quality monitoring sensors as the perception layer, the LoRaWAN network as the network layer, and the monitoring website as the presentation layer. Before being made available to the public, IoT hardware and software must undergo testing. For IoT systems, there are no established standards or quality criteria. This study's goal is to evaluate the methodology for an air quality monitoring system. Website speed is measured using Pingdom tools. The website received a performance grade of B. Pingdom offers advice for enhancing website performance. Sucuri is utilized as a security test tool to evaluate the website's security, and consequently, no malware was discovered. The latency and data dependability are monitored to assess the system's performance fully. The outcome demonstrates that all system components consistently and accurately receive data with a latency of less than 1 s.

Microsatellite instability (MSI) is a pivotal genetic marker influencing the efficacy of immunotherapy in colorectal cancer. Traditional MSI examination often requires additional genetic or immunohistochemical tests, whereas histology images, widely available in colorectal cancer diagnosis, offer a valuable alternative for MSI prediction. Although Transformer-based models have demonstrated promising outcomes in predicting MSI from histology images, they are hampered by traditional local attention mechanisms that struggle to capture long-range interdependencies and establish a comprehensive global receptive field. In this study, we introduce DiNAT-MSI, a novel framework for histology-based MSI prediction that incorporates the Dilated Neighborhood Attention Transformer (DiNAT). This model enhances global context recognition and substantially expands receptive fields, all without additional computational burden. Our results demonstrate that DiNAT-MSI achieves a superior patientwise AUROC compared to ResNet18 and Swin Transformer, along with commendable explainability. Our work not only illustrates a more accessible diagnostic tool for leveraging histological data but also underscores the potential of Transformerbased models with sophisticated attention designs in advancing precision medicine for colorectal cancer patients. © 2024 IEEE.

This study explores the feasibility of deep learning for classifying nodule neoplasms, analyzing their performance on two openly available datasets, LUNGx SPIE, and LIDC-IDRI. These datasets offer valuable diversity in image quantity, quality, and malignancy annotation methodologies, posing a real-world challenge for effective model development. To handle the disparities in these diverse datasets, we aim to develop a robust classification model trained using federated learning. This decentralized approach allows model training across datasets without sharing patient data, preserving privacy and overcoming data fragmentation. Our experiments demonstrate that federated learning enables the development of a robust and superior deep learning model compared to individual models trained on limited data. This combination of deep learning, and federated learning holds immense promise for nodule neoplasm classification and can significantly improve patient care and outcomes. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Fish species inventory and monitoring is a timely concern due to the increasing environmental imbalance. In this sense, the development of machine learning strategies aiming to support automatic fish species identification is an important contribution, both in environmental and scientific terms. This study explores handcrafted features aiming to perform fish species identification in a quite challenging scenario, in which the inter-classes differences are minimal, as the species belong to the same family considering the hierarchy of biological classification (i.e. Characidae). For this purpose, it is proposed a set of features designed properly, aiming to capture visual properties closely related to each species that are difficult to be noted by experts in this domain of investigation. An additional contribution of this work is a dataset of 4870 images taken from 416 individuals from nine fish species. The Region of Interest (RoI) corresponding to the fish body is segmented, and horizontal and vertical histograms are collected from each sample, aiming to capture information related to the body shape, and other characteristics particular to each species. Experiments are performed using the Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbours (K-NN), Random Forest and Naive-Bayes classifiers and, in the best scenario, it is obtained an accuracy rate of 99%. This result corroborates the hypothesis that the use of handcrafted features specifically developed for this type of application can be quite effective in addressing this classification problem.

In the realm of research, the global health challenge posed by lung cancer remains pronounced, contributing substantially to annual cancer-related fatalities. The critical imperative lies in the early identification of pulmonary nodules, frequently indicative of impending lung cancer, to enhance patient outcomes and diminish mortality rates. Computed Tomography (CT) imaging stands out as a pivotal diagnostic instrument for the timely detection of these nodules. The swift proliferation of medical imaging data has underscored the pressing necessity for precise and efficient methodologies dedicated to nodule segmentation and measurement. These approaches are crucial in assisting radiologists in their diagnostic and clinical decision-making endeavors. In this study, we introduced a thorough method for analyzing lung nodules, leveraging dataset from Far Eastern Memorial Hospital (FEMH) comprising original CT images and manually annotated ground truth masks obtained with the assistance of radiologists at FEMH. This dataset is utilized for the segmentation of nodules. We employed advanced deep learning models, specifically the U-Net architecture, identified as the optimal model through our training process. We made substantial progress in nodule segmentation, attaining an Intersection over Union (IoU) score of 0.824 and a Dice Coefficient of 0.903 for the FEMH dataset. Furthermore, our performance improved when utilizing the merged dataset comprising FEMH and Luna16, yielding an IoU score of 0.862 and a Dice Coefficient of 0.926. Luna16 has been extensively utilized in numerous studies related to nodule detection and segmentation. In the next phase of the study, the best-performing model from our segmentation phase was utilized to predict nodule masks on the merged dataset. Subsequently, we measured the size of each predicted nodule by comparing it with the size ground truth mask in millimeters. To model the periodicity of beats, state-of-the-art beat tracking systems use 'post-processing trackers' (PPTs) that rely on several empirically determined global assumptions for tempo transition, which work well for music with a steady tempo. For expressive classical music, however, these assumptions can be too rigid. With two large datasets of Western classical piano music, namely the Aligned Scores and Performances (ASAP) dataset and a dataset of Chopin's Mazurkas (Maz-5), we report on experiments showing the failure of existing PPTs to cope with local tempo changes, thus calling for new methods. In this paper, we propose a new local periodicity-based PPT, called predominant local pulse-based dynamic programming (PLPDP) tracking, that allows for more flexible tempo transitions. Specifically, the new PPT incorporates a method called 'predominant local pulses' (PLP) in combination with a dynamic programming (DP) component to jointly consider the locally detected periodicity and beat activation strength at each time instant. Accordingly, PLPDP accounts for the local periodicity, rather than relying on a global tempo assumption. Compared to existing PPTs, PLPDP particularly enhances the recall values at the cost of a lower precision, resulting in an overall improvement of F1-score for beat tracking in ASAP (from 0.473 to 0.493) and Maz-5 (from 0.595 to 0.838). © 2014 IEEE.
