Auto mechanic students' perceptions and readiness toward mobile learning in Thailand

Access to quality education is now a huge challenge in Thailand with ever-increasing inequality between rural and urban populations. Existing teaching and learning facilities are no longer adequate. Mobile learning has been suggested as a sustainable and appropriate delivery mechanism to reduce this rural/urban education gap. Students are supplied with their own mobile device at no cost to learners or their families. Opportunities offered through mobile learning to auto mechanic education in Thailand were explored. Data from 384 auto mechanic students were collected and descriptive and multiple regression analyses were performed based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology 2 (UTAUT2) model. Results showed that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation and personal innovativeness were positively related to behavioral intention to use mobile learning. Furthermore, effort expectancy, hedonic motivation and personal innovativeness were the most significant predictors of behavioral intention to use mobile learning. Auto mechanic students in Thailand had positive perceptions toward mobile learning and the effect of students' effort expectancy provided a better explanation for the adoption of mobile learning in auto mechanic education. © 2018, International Association of Online Engineering.

Photonic technologies continue to drive the quest for new optical materials with unprecedented responses. A major frontier in this field is the exploration of nonlocal (spatially dispersive) materials, going beyond the local, wavevector-independent assumption traditionally made in optical material modeling. On one end, the growing interest in plasmonic, polaritonic and quantum materials has revealed naturally occurring nonlocalities, emphasizing the need for more accurate models to predict and design their optical responses. This has major implications also for topological, nonreciprocal, and time-varying systems based on these material platforms. Beyond natural materials, artificially structured materials—metamaterials and metasurfaces–can provide even stronger and engineered nonlocal effects, emerging from long-range interactions or multipolar effects. This is a rapidly expanding area in the field of photonic metamaterials, with open frontiers yet to be explored. In the case of metasurfaces, in particular, nonlocality engineering has become a powerful tool for designing strongly wavevector-dependent responses, enabling enhanced wavefront control, spatial compression, multifunctional devices, and wave-based computing. Furthermore, nonlocality and related concepts play a critical role in defining the ultimate limits of what is possible in optics, photonics, and wave physics. This Roadmap aims to survey the most exciting developments in nonlocal photonic materials, highlight new opportunities and open challenges, and chart new pathways that will drive this emerging field forward–toward new scientific discoveries and technological advancements. The slippery slope framework explains tax compliance along two main dimensions,trust in authorities and power of authorities,which influence taxpayers’compliance *** frequentist and Bayesian analyses,we investigated the framework’s assumptions on a sample of 2786 self-employed taxpayers from eleven post-communist and non-post-communist countries doing business in five economic *** using scenarios that experimentally manipulated trust and power,our results confirmed the framework’s assumptions regarding the attitudes of the self-employed taxpayers;trust and power fostered intended tax compliance and diminished tax evasion,trust boosted voluntary tax compliance,whereas power increased enforced tax ***,self-employed taxpayers from post-communist countries reported higher intended tax compliance and lower tax evasion than those from non-post-communist *** results offer tax authorities insights into how trust and power may contribute to obtaining and maintaining high tax compliance levels amid global economic challenges,downturns,and increasing tax compliance costs.

At the Unit Laka Lantas Polres Lhokseumawe determining accident-prone areas on roads in Lhokseumawe still using manual systems. Determination of accident-prone areas are less effective because the police Unit Laka Lantas Polres Lhokseumawe just using the data of the last year and had to repeatedly calculate manually accident-prone areas based on the number of human casualties. In this study the system implementation CUSUM method (Cummulative Summary) to determine the accident-prone areas designed using the web-based programming language PHP. In this system there are three processes to determine areas prone to accidents, the accident rate calculations based on the weighted severity, blacksite calculations using the Z-Score method for determining areas prone to accident blackspots and calculations using the CUSUM method to determine the critical points of an accident. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Police Unit Laka Lantas Polres Lhokseumawe years 2009-2013. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Student Information Terminals (S-IT) is an independent academic service information system for students, where this service makes it easy for students to obtain academic information in real time with information such as the transcript of academic achievement, finance, course, attendance, exam, lecturer, card examinees and announcements academic, and has the function to print directly the data independently on S-IT devices. To find out how well the S-IT is in terms of software size, then needed a measurement. The measurements used in this paper using the Use Case Point (UCP) method as one of the approved software metrics which measure the functionality our software size. The results of the measurement of software size S-IT shown that the project has a small size, the software has a value of UCP = 96.767 estimate effort, has the development time 1,452 hours or equivalent 9 months 1 week and have development costs in Indonesian Rupiah is 263,175,000 IDR. The aims of measurement software size S-IT with the use case point is to help make decisions about the implementation of software development application project in terms of the estimated time, costs, and people. © 2017 IEEE.

There are several ways to deal with security issues of confidential data sent via the internet, including using cryptographic techniques and steganography. Steganography is the science and art of concealing information / messages in a media in such a way that its existence is not detected by other parties who are not entitled to the information. Instead, cryptography disguises the meaning of a message, but does not hide that there is a message because the file looks suspicious. The Steganography technique used here was End Of File (EOF). The EOF technique described how to add data or files at the end of the image file. For this technique, the size of data or files that will be hidden could be larger than the size of the image file. The hidden data will be inserted at the end of the file so that it will not affect the image. This steganography application is also equipped with a cryptographic function Data Encryption Standard (DES) at the time of insertion of data that functions as a generator code and encrypts data, so that the security of a data in the file is more protected and protected from those who are not entitled to know the data. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Based on the formulation of the problem to be discussed by the writer is to know: the influence of 0.4 mm spark gap variation, and standard spark plug type, to CO and HC, the influence of 0.5 mm spark plug gap variation, and variation of platinum spark plug on CO and HC, influence of spark gap variation 0,6mm, and variation of iridium spark plug type to CO and HC emission Method used to obtain data needed to support the writer that is research method with experiment, literature study method or literature study The result of this research concludes that there is spark gap influence 0.4 mm, with variations of standard plug, platinum and iridium spark plugs against CO and HC emissions, where the lowest CO value is 0.27% and HC 98 ppm, 0.5 mm spark plug with lowest CO 0.15% and HC 46 ppm, 0.6 mm spark plug gap the lowest CO value of 0.19% and HC 24 ppm. Nowadays, messaging technology in digital data form more often used and not less messages that confidentially wanted. Then it should be modified so that can be understood only by the sender and the intended recipients. All of this system can be realization by using cryptography. LUC algorithms are introduced by Smith and Lennon in 1993. LUC algorithm is an algorithm that based on the use of Lucas sequence (specific arithmetic operations derived from Lucas row) that rarely used to enhance the security of the messages. In this research, LUC algorithm is combined with visual cryptography to process the encryption and the description of a colored image. Four different images were used in the trial here. The performance of the system is assessed using Structural similarity (SSIM) which has an assessment similar to human eye. If the image quality is the same as the original image, then the SSIM value is one. Whereas if the quality of decryption image is very different from the original image then the value of SSIM is zero. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
